Warning!!! This goggle's head tracker output may burn your RC. The head tracker PPM voltage is 5v. Today I received the goggle, I'm mostly satisfied util I try the head tracker with my tx16s. It burn the trainer port signal input as soon as i set the the RC trainer port to input. I measure some of the serial and various logic voltage, and i noticed most of the logic is 3.3v, the highest logic voltage is 3.7v from a charger PPM output. Nothing come close to 5v. It is sad i can't do head tracker setup or motion control with my current radio. Another note to myself: check voltage before connect signals.
Weird, the S version can be shipped to UK but the X cannot. Seems to be a lot of Banggood stuff being unavailable these days, Brexit issue? But how would that affect the two versions.
Yes, I was very impressed with these when they were first announced. As it stands I use DJI for digital and Analogue. If I was starting out in the hobby I'd of gone with these.
I got the Cobra X a couple of weeks ago in the UK. I'm so impressed with them, and it's about time us box goggle wearers have some new kit. i've had the FS scout for what seems like 10yrs. Banggood are not shipping the X to the UK anymore?? I don't know why. I'm just glad i was an early pre order.
Hi Mark, you have the fs scouts, the ones that came out a cpl years ago? Im on the recon at the moment, im fancying getting some of these cobraX just trying to work out if i will notice much improvement in video quality etc. Cheers, Mark
I got a pair of the movie mask goggles for about $150 US it has the same type of lens system instead of the split image coming in the goggles with an app. With the mini two you can’t even get an app to split the image so these goggles are great solution. The new lens splits the image at the source the goggles, seems like your goggles have the same one piece lens😵💫🤙🏻✨😎 The only difference being echine made a little separate screen instead of putting your iPhone in.
Hi lee one doubt ... the manual says to convert the SD card to FAT32. Which I did already , after that whatever DVR is being recorded can only be viewed on the goggles and the file is not seen on the SD card ... any help on this please ?
So i got mine but is seems my reception in worst than the ev800d. Is 1.3.3 / 01.02.00.04 the latest update ? Any chance for a rarge test or a how to update firmware. (tried steadyview 1.4 but nothing happens.
Very less information about this goggles like how to upgrade firmware , calibration etc. Requesting you to make series videos for this. I am having issue with this using 18650 battery as power source it won't last more than and a minute and moment it drops below 4 volts low battery alarm is triggered and it shutdowns.
I bought a pair of Scouts to replace the EV800D's, but prefered the big bright colourful display on the EV800D's and just the overall viewing experience generally (despite the lower resolution). The receivers on the Scouts were also inferior to the EV800D's. Would i like the viewing experience of the Cobra X's? A direct comparison between the Scouts and the Cobra X's would be interesting...
I like the large 16:9 FOV of my EV200D and EV800D's. Very immersive feeling. I have the feeling that the diagonal FOV of 50 degrees is actually quite a bit smaller compared to the EV800D ???
I'm using a no-name EV800D. It's 3 years old and I think it's the cat's pyjamas. I must say, when it finally gives out I will probably get a drop-in replacement, if available - branded or no. It's a great headbox for the money.
Is there any way to adjust the screen closer to your eyes?. I bought the SCOUTS, but they're useless since the picture is still blurry due to the screen being too far away from my eyes. The scouts screen also use mirrors to direct the picture, is it the same with these or are we looking straight at the screen?.
I am just not sure on the price vs risk of requiring support. With the FatShark support I feel safer crossing that $200 threshold with what seems to be an inferior product with the scout..
Hello! Great review! I’m looking into getting the Skyzone Cobra X goggles and wear rather wide glasses. Do you know what maximum width glasses frame that’s compatible with the goggle?
Hi Lee, in the real world, rather just resolution spec , would you say that the image quality in the cobra X would be noticeably better than the image in the fatshark recons? Those are my current goggles. Thanks
Good evening, As a result of this video, I bought myself some of these. They seem as good as you suggest, only issue I am having, is the DVR. I doubt that it will be broken, but I can't get the DVR to record. I have formatted the SD card in FAT32 as suggested. Any help would be appreciated. Regards..
I would buy these for sure but they are not available for shipment to the UK 🇬🇧 If they can ship the Cobra X's to the UK for review then you would think that they would be available for purchase 🤔🤔 Thanks for the review though 😊👍
@@john_h9281 My pleasure...I`ve never used a box goggle...but these look outstanding for the price...so i thought i would take a punt.. as i really need to use glasses now...take care regards. Mick.
have you ever tried the fatshark scouts? how would the picture quality compare? the scouts are quite crisp ,this has even higher resolution so in theory should have a even better picture then the scouts . do they?
Hi, I'm a newbie and I have the Novice 3 with Ev800 goggles. Using my quad will the image I see be much better quality even using the same quad camera? Thank you.
I'm not sure what you are asking but better quality goggles with higher resolution and better optics will make it easier to see what is going on.. Best of luck!
@@Painless360 thanks for the quick reply! Basically I'm concerned that before I spend £200 hoping for a much better viewing experience, Im questioning if an image is transmitted from the same quad camera, will the received image be better? If you have the ev800 and the cobra x side by side connected to the same quad, will there be a noticible difference?
With the viewing experience of goggles varying from pilot to pilot it can be tricky to give hard and fast answers when it comes to FPV stuff. A lot of the cheaper box goggles give you a lot for the money but look goofy. The Cobra X has a much newer panel with a higher resolution so the image _should_ be better..
Hi. I've been using the no-name version of the EV800D for the past 3 years. It's a good headset, probably the best value on the market. Since you're new, why not use your EV800 until you feel you've grown past its limit? I fly an LDARC ET100 in a small apartment using the same headbox you have. The ET100 has a _lot_ of power, and is very responsive; a good headset is a must if I want to avoid breaking my stuff. I've found I don't need anything more than my current set-up. Your needs may be different, however. Either way, welcome to the hobby. It's a lot of fun - enjoy!
Hello everybody, is there anyone who has tried to power these goggles with 18650? At what voltage does the shutdown occur? On the Firmware relese notes they speak of 3.2V but mine turn off at 3.6V anyone give me feedback? Thank you
Higher res, HDMI and a removable module? I think EAchine/Skyzone are *totally* working on a digital system.
