She then befriended “The entity” and they worked together to catch you but they failed and at the end of the game Esther forgets everything that happened that’s why she starts playing with the rabbit. The black figures that poke from out of the walls were trapped souls that the entity corrupted in the past 7. The reason why you had to put those vases on the statue was i think to either prevent the entity to enter the world or to give him more access to it because every spirit or demon needs to have access to a realm by a host 8. The girl in the picture when the entity tried to snatch you was isabel 9. The whispers and the voices saying give yourself to us was the entity trying to corrupt esther's mind making her mental state vunerable and making her go insane so he can corrupt her easily 9. Apparently Esther is the grandma of Ruby Because when the remastered of the game is play you can check back that it's the exact same day that was shown to Esther seeing when Ruby will be in that house Also there is MULTIPLE endings to the game That was one of them.
The story of the girl is basically she was in an abusive relationship with what I assume is her mother (for reasons unknown) so she ran away into the woods to temporarily get away from her which is where she ran into the entity/demon with the horns (as seen in the painting). This entity told her to put on this necklace as it would help her escape her abuse or something along those lines so much so that she was convinced and took it. My assumption is this necklace corrupted her so when the abuse got out of hand she lashed out resulting in the death of who I assume to be her mother (the person who asked Esther for help with the darkness bleeding from her eyes during one of the dream scenes). The other people of the village found out what happened to the women and blamed the girl so the accused her of being a Witch based on the condition of the body of the woman found as this was the time of Witch Hunts so they found her guilty and burnt her at the stake. Either before she died or during her death (it's never stated in the game from what I know) she created the 3 toys and as she was dying her corrupted spirit was trapped within each of the toys, hence their murderous behaviour as for the Witch and/or the Entity to manifest and wreak havoc the 3 toys need an "owner" to play with (hence the note in Ruby's house). So they managed to get Isaac and Molly but Esther escaped so as a last ditch attempt the Entity wiped her memory of events so they could come back for her children and grandchildren later (hence Mr Hopp's Playhouse 1). My theory why she went for her grandchild Ruby rather than Esther's child is because the Entity had to recharge its power after trying to consume Esther that took generations to come back in full force and even then it was not completely back to its original power (due to mechanics missing in number 1 that were present in number 2 and Mr Hopp's final form in number 1 being seemingly much less powerful than in 2). TLDR: The Entity corrupted a child who turned into a witch and was burnt for her crimes, as she was dying she created possessed toys that would in future find owners to consume in order to bring either the Entity or the Witch back into the physical world to continue their destructive rampage. It failed so as a last resort the Entity wiped Esther's memories of what happened so their plan could be attempted again in future leading to Playhouse 1.
