I know this is an older video, but finally, finally, finally, I have fine hair that stopped being able to be styled. I have purchased many, many different products. But still flat ! Couldn’t figure it out. Never thought it would be my hairdryer. This is exactly what I needed ! Thank You !
wow, that is such an informative and helpful video! I have fine straight hair and this video tells me that I would be better off NOT using ions to dry my hair. Thank you so much for making this video!!
I have recently bought an ionic hair dryer and can already see the difference in smoothness and shine even after one use. I used to use a really old non-ionic blow dryer and it left my hair frizzy and dry. So I am way more satisfied now. I'm a bigger fan of the smoothness than the volume haha.
For flat hairs, i found my old blow dry enhancing my hair better. Thanks to you now I now it’s because those ions on my new blow dry that gives me super sleek but flat look 🙏
I run a Parlux and the negative ions generated from heating the tourmaline in the nozzle end dry the hair inside out as well as the positive ions generated from the heating element. Smoother hair, technology that worls and clients love it.
I just purchased the Parlux 3200 Plus without ionic or ceramic technology because of my fine straight hair. Parlux is a brand that is not as well known in the USA as Elchim and other high-end dryers. This video has convinced me that I made the right choice by deciding NOT to purchase a hair dryer with ionic technology!
Absolutely!! That is the best way to use it. Turn ions OFF when blowdrying on base to create ore volume. Then mid-shaft to ends turn the ions ON for smoothing. You're got the right idea!
Thank you so much. I personally am not a fan of the ions, being in my 60’s makes my full, fine hair flat. My favorite nonionic hair dryer just broke! Awfully hard to find a good, nonionic hair dryer! May just buy yours! ❤️
I have an ionic hair dryer from remington and it leaves my hair crazy smooth and shiny like fresh out of salon compared to non ionic dryers which make my hair very frizzy
I have thick hair that falls to my mid back. I like volume with a flip out at the ends and not a sleek look. Is it right that I'd want a non-ionic blow dry?
Great video😊I had No idea between negative/ positive ion’s, not even sure what they were, but every dryer & AD said ion’s were the best? Now I’m really confused. Thanks for opening my eyes.
ion does not have effects on your hairs. At best they reduce by a small amount the static charge in your hairs as long as the dryer is blowing. Oh and ion hairdryers release ozone which is a poison. Oh and ion hairdryers cost 10x more for nothing.
@@swisstraeng the one i bought is 4 times more expensive than my old, normal dryer. it's also much stronger and has nice thermal regulation. for all that, i immediately saw an effect on my hair, as someone who has very thick hair that gets very frizzy in cool moist weather like the one we have right now.
Can you do a video like this for the texturizing iron on a model whose hair won't hold a curl? My curls won't stay and I would like to see what difference the iron makes before I buy it because it is so expensive.

Hi Sam please help, I have just purchased a hairdryer with an ionic on/off switch but if I switch the ion ON my hair looks, feels and is greasy a few hours after I dry it. I have thin, fine, limp, static, straight hair with a bit of frizz. Why is this happening and what is the best type of hair dryer for my hair type? I could cry I’m so gutted
Hi Sarah, as you can see on this video, the ionic charge polishes the cuticle of the hair quite a bit (more than we even thought). So on very fine/limp hair, you probably want to keep the ions switched off for most of your blow dry and then just flip the ions on for the very ends of the hair.

@@bethjones6104 Me too , i've been using an old Babyliss hair dryer for over 5years ... and everything was going good with it ... then i purchsed a new hair dryer " bruan with ionic ... and since then (few months) i noticed that my hair get worse very flat, i searched for the reasons ... and it seems that ionic techonolgy is the problem, i wanna ask you if it's okay to buy ceramic hair dryer ? is it okay, any advice ?
I switched from a tourmaline titanium hair dryer to an ionic one because I read it will dry my hair faster without as much damage. I have a lot of hair (fine strands but massive density) and have noticed my hair feels too smooth, almost greasy after I use it. And I typically have a dry scalp. So then I end up over drying my hair to get rid of the greasy feeling and then it gets staticy. It also makes my hair completely flat. I guess ionic dryers don't work for me. Issue is I'm also prone to frizz (I got the problems of both fine and thick hair...it sucks). So I got a dryer with an ion switch. Would blowing drying my hair with the ions off until it's mostly dry (like 90%) then switching them on for a few minutes work?
I'm looking at buying this blow dryer, but is this a ceramic blow dryer? I love that I can turn ions on/off bc I had a tourmaline or ionic dryer before and it sucked all the volume out of my hair
You can turn the ions off when blow drying the base or root area of the hair which will build more fullness. Then, when moving more into the mid-strand and ends of the hair, turn the ions back on. We get fullness and body mainly from the base to mid-strand and we tend to see shine and polish more from the mids to the ends.
What's the deffrence between Ceramic Ionic dryers and Ceramic only dryer ? because every time i search for ceramic hair dryer only , i found that they use ionic techonlogy with it , and i don't want to have ionic in my next hair dryer purchase , because i have flat and fine hair , and ionic damaged my hair even worse , how should i deal with that ? i found it difficult to find only ceramic hair dryer here where i live
OK, I need a real tech explanation ions of what is created. And what exactly in a hair drier create ions? Otherwise, I see like adding tourmaline crystals +5 for silkiness and +10 for heat

Wow this proves that ionic blowdry really do work! Do tourmaline and ceramic next!
Ionic blow dryers do work! More ions, more shine, less frizz and in less time! Less ions or no ions for fine, limp hair!
You're absolutely right! Sending a big hug your way my friend!

Could you post a video where you try it with with extremely naturally curly hair? (Dried curly not straightened)

So could you do no ions in the base for volume and ions in the ends for efficiency?

Can ionic hair dryers be used for mitigating static on turntables ? Autobody shops use ionic blow dryers for static elimination.

Hello , does it is necessary to apply heat protector spray before using a dryer.
It's not always necessary... it depends on the needs of the hair. We always recommend it before any ironing though.
Excellent explanation!

It will release water from the hair faster and create a more polished finish.
