You can inflate the "shnozzle bag" at 3:37 much more easily via the Bernoulli effect.
Open the pump bag wide, blow into the open end, quickly close it and roll up.
The velocity of the air stream you blow into the bag will cause a localised drop in pressure, drawing surrounding air into the bag.
You should be able to get about 50% of the pump bag volume full this way, without the need to detach the pump bag and wave it about.
6 or 7 fills should be enough for the air pad.
Hope that helps if you ever don't have you Flextail to hand.

This is going to be perfect for my camping trips this winter. Hate having to use the bag to inflate my Exped mat inside the tent during the winter season.

That form factor is insane! I have the original flextail and I always found it slightly bulky but I'm definitely upgrading to this. Throw an extra battery in and it looks like it will still be lighter than the original. Thx for the gear preview.

Like the review! Comprehensive. I love my exped mat and the schnozzle bag is a great system... but it is faff in a one-person tent when hiding from the weather!

Great review! They are sending me one of these this month. Nitecore batteries are rechargeable if you have a battery charger. Much like a 18650 battery. I think finding a high drain version of the battery with a higher maH rating would give the single battery longer life on trail. Greetings from Utah USA! Gave you a sub!

How will you recharge the battery while on trail?

I guess you'll have to take a USB battery charger, or take a spare battery. All of which slightly defeats the object really. Flextail reckon it will inflate a pad 25 times in a row, which may be slightly optimistic, but I'll find out in time 👍

I saw another guy on his video say that they said they are going to put in a rechargeable battery.

I would love to get a pump but despite their efforts naking this one quieter it's still too loud I feel for stelath camping trips. Its a high pitch noise that does draw attention to your whereabouts when trying to be stealthy. So no, unfortunately not for me, I will stick to blowing up my airmats by mouth.

Biggest downside is the fact it isn't a rechargeable. For those on long distance trips or thruhikes won't find this useful. I think this was a huge design oversight on their part.

I have seen that you can get it with a rechargeable battery, but you have to take it out of the pump to charge it. Sure, a slight annoyance but still quite useful.

Flextail said the pumps are out of stock, but you'll find nothing saying so on their site. Probably nothing till 2024! However, they are still selling product they don't have. Not very honest 🤮
