You're correct that he "sings from a girls point of view", but he is a famous song writer. He does not write songs for himself, he's very successful behind the scenes. Some songs that he's written (I'll list his most famous) are "Domino" by Jessie J, "Grenade" by Bruno, "Party in the USA" by Miley, "My Life Would Suck.." by Kelly Clarkson.
