I just got my license after chucking one of these around a parking lot for a weekend... such a joyful little machine even when I was screwing up gear-shifts or letting off the clutch too fast.
I totally agree with keeping a grom as a 2nd bike. I've owned many bikes and jumping back on a small bike to cruise back roads is the best. Other great contenders would be small super motos or duel sports.
The rear shock does NOT have preload adjustment. What you get stock is what you get. If you want to make any adjustments, be it compression, rebound, or preload, you have to swap to an aftermarket shock.
That's what my Friend did, 1st He Brought a Grom for 2 Grand, riding it from Work and Grocery then after few months of Riding He Switch into Harley Road Glide
Kind of off topic, but I get a lot of looks and questions about my '22 Super Cub. I put quite a bit of money into it to "make it mine" and it ended up looking like mini touring bike :D
Had a 2014 Grom in 2014 when they came out, it was my only bike. Did many long trips with it, just took longer to get there. Don't like highways anyway 😂 Sold it when I bought my 2017 Yamaha FZ09, the FZ was a blast but too much for my needs, missed the Grom too much so I sold it to buy a Honda CB300R. The CB300R is a big Grom that does highways, fun, light, nimble. Crashed the CB300R last year, ran into a deer at 90kmh. The bike didn't survive the crash. After one year without a bike I decided to buy a new Grom. Back to having fun at low cost, parking where ever. For some it's a second bike, to me it's great for everything even travel. Rather chill and ride
Not really for short beginners. Seat hight is to high. Also the most uncomfortable seat I ever sat on. The cub with it's step through design would be better for short folks.
Great video. But ladies and gentlemen, (everyone does this)....Its BRAKING. Breaking is what you do when you are too tired to keep working, and its what your ex girlfriend does to your Grom's headlight when you call her insane.
.... Almost a million Groms sold, while not for everyone, I think your experience is likely in the minority. You'll have to give solid rationale to avoid it if you want people to take your opinion as advice.
Uninformed, never tried one, and he wouldn't appreciate it anyway. It's an extremely reliable, fun to ride, incredible to mod as desired, machine. It's in a class by itself, that's how astounding and accepted as it is.

Too bad you can’t actually buy a Grom for $3,399.
Was offered a 2019 with 1,600 miles for $2,500. No damage and some mods done. Should I buy at that price?
@@BackroadBlue Did you end up purchasing it?

I love bikes but I never owned one I think this will be a good bike to get to work
Yep. My yellow grom grabs a lot of attention.

Probably one of the best videos on the 2022 Honda Grom!!! Love it
I see you throwback ad line “You meet the nicest people on a Honda” Well done 👍🏾

I put extensions on the fairings and expanded the fuel tank by 2 gallons on my 2023 grom. Can't wait till it warms up to go ride.
Thanx for nice clip about the Grom. I think I need one . Been riding since 1989 😁 and want my family to want to ride also
Braking, not 'breaking'

I just got mine and winter is basically here.. it will have to sit for 5 months.
Breaking? You mean Braking?
Breaking and braking are two very different things
I prefer the latter...
Put a brake on breaking; ride a Honda.
i want a monkey so bad and make it offroad minibike machine

Smiles per gallon 🖤
Giggles/mile.
Bro, "BRAKING"
He doesn't know - he doesn't ride anything, not even a skateboard, so I've heard...
Braking not breaking
Oh man how does a guy get that blue one. I haven't seen that color grom no where.
You have to buy the ABS version to get the blue.
@@jasonb6570 the candy blue version is 2022. The abs is the white one with red and blue
I weigh 148 pounds and It says 130 mpg on mine
You know I wanted a grom but the price was way too much so I went and get a Chinese knock off and swap to a zs212 into it its just as fun
What you pay in repair costs will make you think that you should have saved up for a Grom.
@@usernamemykel I do my own repairs its about to get a ninja 250ex swap soon im currently rocking a zs212
Braking dude lol 😂
Okay, so it's a bike for begginers... but is it also a bike for beginners?
Yes it's very beginner friendly
I'm 78 (Imperial, not Metric) years old, not a "beginner" and I LOVE IT (don't tell my Kawasaki Ninja 400).
Great video.

is this a ‘22
"Breaking" -- gee, I hope not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beauty wise. The papio is better looking. Mechanical wise it’s the Honda
Bro, "Beginners"
It’s “braking” not “breaking”
*Braking
Can anyone SEE you in thick, dangerous traffic? Biggest concern
If you don't mind please give you weight.
Don’t get a Grom, take it from me. I’ve had 2 and regretted it both times.
What issues did you have ...very curious. Thanks!

Take WHAT from you? You offer no reasons for your "advice", so why should anyone "...take it from me..." Duh
OverRated, OverPriced, and UnderPowered

"2014"!!!
I have one from 2013... how could that have happened? Time travel?
He speaks with forked tongue, and doesn't know braking from breaking.
