  • Tone Tubby Speakers - 6-Speaker Shootout
ANNOUNCEMENT: beginning on 12/25/2019 until 01/01/2020, anybody who makes a purchase from www.regentsounds.com is automatically entered into a giveaway, where one lucky winner will win a boutique Tone Tubby Rose Bud speaker, worth $440!
Merry Christmas, folks! It's that time of the year, and we have a fantastic selection of beautiful boutique hemp-cone guitar speakers for you today, from the wizards at Tone Tubby. Hand-made in America, these super guitar speakers all feature cones made from hemp which, aside from being an environmentally more sustainable alternative to paper, are known for their classic, warm and vibrant tone.
With an artist list that spans everyone from Eric Clapton and Carlos Santana, through to Billy Gibbons who named the company, Tone Tubby are renowned for their thick, round and articulate guitar speakers, which offer the easiest, most impressive way to upgrade your amplifier and transform your tone. Changing the speaker can affect the tone in the most substantial way, and we aim to show you how a selection of Tone Tubby speakers can do so, each imparting very distinctive and unique tonal colour upon the resulting sound.
For the purposes of this video, Rob demonstrates 3 sets of tones through each of the speakers - two sets of clean tone through neck and bridge pickups, and a driven neck pickup tone, using the wonderful Vemuram Jan Ray. The guitar is a British-made Gordon Smith GS2, and the amp is a superb vintage Fender Deluxe, made in 1964.
Tone doesn't get much better than this! We are London's exclusive Tone Tubby dealer here at Regent Sounds, so feel free to contact us via our website or by phone, or to stop by our Denmark Street store, in the heart of London.
Wishing every one of our viewers and customers a very happy holiday season, and a merry Christmas,
    The Regent Sounds crew

Nice speaker demos. It would be even better if you played the exact same riff with the exact same guitar settings on all the speakers for a more direct comparison

These are all hemp cones and they are all alnico magnets. They have different efficiencies which means some will be louder than others on a given setting.

Nice demo. Intersting style, compliments the hemp/alnico voice of the speakers well.

The Tone Tubby website doesn’t list the Key Biscayne. Has it been renamed already? A great, great video!! Awesome playing and a very nice surrounding!

Thank you so much for the kind words, and for watching! I think it may have been renamed to the Key Largo! Please do visit us some time, if you come to London!

Great playing man, but some clean, dirty, then lead tones would have been a lot more helpful

Can you guys do a demo of the Amsterdam? I can't seem to find a decent clip of it anywhere

Euhmmm use a ditto pedal, record some decent riffs and chords, let it loop while changing speakers, so we can actually hear the difference in speakers (to many variables now) Thanks for the effort though!

Do you have a speaker preference for a 5E3 Tweed Deluxe? What are your favorites? I've heard these amps in the past with Red, Black and Key Largo, but never beside each other so it's tough to make a decision. Cheers.

I randomly acquired some San Rafael’s 12”s loaded in an ENGL cab. Was supposed to have stock V30s. I got a surprise with these, how do you think they’ll work out for metal? I love the thought of them for traditional rock, but haven’t got my engl savage 120 head to try it yet. Just wondering your experience and thoughts, as I can exchange the cab.

Wow, do those speakers ever sound great! Have you had a chance to try on in a 5E3 tweed Deluxe amp? I'm trying to decide on which model to get and I don't know if I should go with their Red, Black, Blue, Purple or maybe even their Key Largo.
