Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem 1. Wal'aadi yaati dabha 2. Fal moori yaati qadha 3. Fal mugheeraati subha 4. Fa atharna bihee naq'a 5. Fawa satna bihee jam'a 6. Innal-insana lirabbihee lakanood 7. Wa innahu 'alaa zaalika la shaheed 8. Wa innahu lihubbil khairi la shadeed 9. Afala ya'lamu iza b'uthira ma filquboor 10. Wa hussila maa fis sudoor 11. Inna rabbahum bihim yauma 'izin lakhabeer In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful. 1. By the racers panting. 2. Igniting sparks. 3. Raiding at dawn. 4. Raising clouds of dust. 5. Storming into the midst. 6. Indeed, the human being is ungrateful to his Lord. 7. And he bears witness to that. 8. And he is fierce in his love of wealth. 9. Does he not know? When the contents of the graves are scattered around. 10. And the contents of the hearts are obtained. 11. Their Lord, on that Day, is fully informed of them.
Even though the primary context of the surah could be the meccan kuffar bandits and their ungratefulness, couldn't it also hit at the madani munafiqeen who are ungrateful and do not spend in the path of the Allah, but rather hoard their wealth away? If it can be assumed that the surah is recited before the battle of badr, the first 5 ayaat could actually be a prophecy of the success of the muslims, and the subsequent ayaat blaming the munafiqeen for not contributing to the cause. And we also know that the munafiq participated only in wars that they knew could be won, and did so only bcoz of their Hubb-ul-Khayr for war booty and not for the pleasure of Allah, and thus were kanood. And their intentions would also be exposed on the day of judgement (hussila ma fis sudoor). So although the surah is most probably revealed in makkah, it all seems to perfectly fit the madani context too. SubHānallah!
حب الخير Because man has intense love to everything (not just money) that he perceives as bringing him a benefit. For eg man has intense love towards food, towards leisure time etc. More often than not the perceived benefit is just feeling good. For eg taking drugs.

The name of everything you said is dunya. So the quran is correct that not only said about money. Quran say about that "dunya"
