I agree wholeheartedly. In fact, I don't amend my soil at all, regardless of what I'm planting. Windmills love clay soil and in fact clay has a lot of nutrients and other beneficial things in it that most people don't realize. Looking good man!
Beautiful palm and they do well in the midsouth. odd story - I had a 3g growing well from a seedling and a visitor at a neighbors house told them they would love to have that palm (non palm grower) the neighbor replied, he wont miss one little palm from all his others and the lady dug it up, 😢 It took a couple of years to get the story and I never tried again but I would really like too, Thanks for letting me gripe
since you hearted my comment from a few days ago, im assuming its all good that i had to add amend the soil a bit since i ran out of native soil. and i didn’t explain why previously but the 2 palms i got were delivered not in pots so i couldn’t use any of the soil it would’ve come with to fill it anyways. anyways thanks for the vid, looking forward to see more soon!
@@tntropics yeah ik i rlly don’t know how i lose so much dirt. it’s like it just disappears into thin air. i mean yeah some dirt is stuck to the grass but i wouldn’t think it would be that much of an issue. who knows… i mean neither palms have seemed to notice it so hopefully they never do
All your Palms look so rich and deeply colored 💯 love em 🌴
Thanks

yeah i got a mix of clay soil and normal soil and i love my clay soil except for planting my prickly pears. i had to plant those in the mulch bed :(
@@jiafeiqueen Yes clay is not good for succulent type plants
Exactly on the nutrients i wish I had said that in the vid

@@tntropics I need some for my Trachy palms and my Crape Myrtles
I've been fortunate, to have black well draining soil In my entire property my plants are blessed and so lucky🌴👍🇺🇸♥️
That's even better!
I have black Texas clay and my palms are doing great without any potting soil/ garden soil added👍
Nice

When you dig a hole you should have extra dirt.

How long has this palm been in the ground?
2 years
@@tntropics thanks for the info
I've made this mistake way to many times, anyway to correct it 🤣😂😂
You can add native soil on top and slurry it in with a hose or dig as much loose potting soil out as possible without disturbing roots too much.
