In the quest with Viktor ( the fatui memeber in the church ), he allows you to ask questions about the fatui. In one of the options he mentions how the other harbingers dont get along with the 6th, Scaramouche. So when he introduces himself as the sixth, paimon could have put two and two together.

I've once encountered a similar issue to Paimon knowing Balladeer's real name. While exploring Yashiori during Orobashi quest, I stumbled upon a small shrine. It triggered a dialogue where Paimon said something like "this must be the shrine Chouji was talking about". Except, I haven't even talked to Chouji prior to that.
I think its just a bug on the program and the code. The system is set to automatic because miHoyo probably think that their player won't go near shrines and will know the shrines after a quest requiring one, that quest is chouji's. Hence paimon's response. Idk if yall are joking, but incase anyone is confused. This is my explanation based on what I know

They assumed we've already done the world quest, and thus included the name, "Choji" -- whom we happen to meet near Jakostu Mine. It's part of a comedian's routine, but it was then taken out of context and used as a meme in the spanish speaking part of the world. Scara already had it bcs she retrieve it from yae in order to let traveler alive. If they are a comrades, scara will tell signora, and they should go back to tsaritsa at that moment. But he doesn't. He lure signora to face shogun which leads to her death.
Paimon probably wondered Teyvat before she met Traveller. Considering, she seems very familiar with the food and knows of the gods (e.x. Venti. She knew he existed, albeit it as the anemo archon, when we first started). A good example would be Fisherman Toast cause, apparently, she somehow KNEW it was already her favorite food, despite being just pulled out of a lake. Traveller hadn't made it to Mondstadt yet either. So it's a little suspicious. Though, I don't think Paimon is necessarily going to be evil. In the beginning, I could see it, but, not so much now. Seeing as she's standing up for the Traveller, and expresses genuine emotion when others take advantage of the Traveller's kindness. It's hard to see her as 100% going-to-be-a-villian. I could see conflicted morally or bad-intentions-turned-good, kind of thing. Maybe I feel comfortable with saying it cause I've always made sure to be nice to our companion, since I can't see why she'd have it out for me. Paimon is shown to remember the history of some Mondstadt and Liyue foods/events, but doesn’t seem tor remember anything else, so it’s likely that she’s been to just those places before, but lost most of her memory.
Paimon is theoretically a god of time, one of the example why is when we pause the game (by pressing esc), paimon is floating and looking at us while the teyvat's time stopped.
If you're lucky you can talk to Victor about the Harbingers when his daily commission triggers. He talks about Scaramouche by name, but I don't think he mentions his title of Balladeer.
If he doesn't say the title 'balladier' he at least does say no. 6 of the Harbingers, Scarmouche. So Traveller should be able to put two and two together to get four....

Things that makes sense why Traveler doesn't suspect her *Contains Spoilers* 1. She was the first person we meet in Teyvat, so Traveler have to rely on her to lead them from the beginning 2. Traveler seems to be understatement with her looks, personality and "usefulness". Like teasing her for being an emergency food. 3. She was the one who was there for Traveler when they learn that their sibling is their enemy. (I'll add more if possible)

I didn’t start playing until like 1.5, but I knew about the scaramouche event from watching bwaaps vid. I was so confused why it seemed like traveler forgot who scaramouche was, but good on mihoyo for trying to make the story less gatekept from newer players
I actually like the scene that the people who didn’t play the event get. Cuz they actually took the time to make it so Scaramouche actually walks in the scene, instead of just popping up unannounced. When that happened for me, I felt a little underwhelmed by how sudden it happened.
Also when you first meet Yoimiya Paimon knows her name before she introduces herself. I think maybe Paimon is just Clairvoyant and pretends to be left out of the loop XD
i was wondering how is this scene plays in that condition, earlier dialogue text might not have accounted for the players never met scaramouche in the 1.1 event

Agreed. It is really dumb that they locked lore heavy story content behind an event that only lasted a few weeks. I think it’s fine for the smaller events like Windtrace, Hyakunin Ikki, Vagabond sword, etc. to be limited, but there’s no reason that kind of content can’t be permanent. At the very least it should be rerun once a year.

The same would happen in the Unreconciled Stars event but with Mona. If you did her story quest before the event, the dialog options and what Mona says would change. If you did her quest after doing the Unreconciled Stars event, the same would happen. See, this is why I love Genshin so much.
'The Balladeer' is his title, like 'Childe,' or 'The Fair Lady.' He uses 'Scaramouche,' but given his Inazuman origin, that's likely an alias like 'la Signora' or 'Tartaglia.' The only way we're likely to learn Scarymouche's real name is by reading it from a dropped item's description, as what happens with Signora.
In one of MC's voicelines they say that Childe will have to take three slashes of the Musou no Hitotachi cuz he has three phases and he broke the 4th wall so its not a surprise that Paimon also broke the 4th wall by reading out the splash text
I think for Paimon’s case, it’s because when you talk to the other Fatui NPC’s, they’ll speak of the Fatui Harbingers and the stories they have of them. Viktor in Mondstat Cathedral will talk about Childe, while some of the others like maybe in the Goth Grand Hotel or even Northland Bank will talk about Signora or Scaramouche. It also wouldn’t be unlikely if the Traveler had Childe in their party and Childe told them about the other Harbingers and their distaste for them.
That’s a nice detail. I’m one of the people who started late in game and never met Scaramouche (I watched some unreconciled stars videos here so I know him already)
The thing with Paimon calling The Balladeer Scaramouche, is that something that happened in the Chinese version? Unless it happened in the original version, then it's just a poor job done by the English translation team. The English team has messed more plenty of times by mistranslating or leaving out important parts of the original lore for whatever reasons. This is most likely just another one of them.

Or if you use traveller's name they can use it from day one? While if you use something else, the characters only use it when you have level 10 or maybe lvl 8 friendship with them? 2. Traveler seems to be understatement with her looks, personality and "usefulness". Like teasing her for being an emergency food.
3. She was the one who was there for Traveler when they learn that their sibling is their enemy.

I didn’t start playing until like 1.5, but I knew about the scaramouche event from watching bwaaps vid. I was so confused why it seemed like traveler forgot who scaramouche was, but good on mihoyo for trying to make the story less gatekept from newer players
I actually like the scene that the people who didn’t play the event get. Cuz they actually took the time to make it so Scaramouche actually walks in the scene, instead of just popping up unannounced. When that happened for me, I felt a little underwhelmed by how sudden it happened.

Agreed. It is really dumb that they locked lore heavy story content behind an event that only lasted a few weeks. I think it’s fine for the smaller events like Windtrace, Hyakunin Ikki, Vagabond sword, etc. to be limited, but there’s no reason that kind of content can’t be permanent. At the very least it should be rerun once a year.

The only way we're likely to learn Scarymouche's real name is by reading it from a dropped item's description, as what happens with Signora.

In one of MC's voicelines they say that Childe will have to take three slashes of the Musou no Hitotachi cuz he has three phases and he broke the 4th wall so its not a surprise that Paimon also broke the 4th wall by reading out the splash text

I think for Paimon’s case, it’s because when you talk to the other Fatui NPC’s, they’ll speak of the Fatui Harbingers and the stories they have of them. Viktor in Mondstat Cathedral will talk about Childe, while some of the others like maybe in the Goth Grand Hotel or even Northland Bank will talk about Signora or Scaramouche. It also wouldn’t be unlikely if the Traveler had Childe in their party and Childe told them about the other Harbingers and their distaste for them.
That’s a nice detail. I’m one of the people who started late in game and never met Scaramouche (I watched some unreconciled stars videos here so I know him already)

The thing with Paimon calling The Balladeer Scaramouche, is that something that happened in the Chinese version? Unless it happened in the original version, then it's just a poor job done by the English translation team. The English team has messed more plenty of times by mistranslating or leaving out important parts of the original lore for whatever reasons. This is most likely just another one of them.
