No sir. Only a detailing person understands the need to clean thoroughly. There's a next level joy when you get to detail your own car. I love your content man. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Truly exceptional quality 👌
So...on the subject of pulling out seats... Does the nut of the bolt that you take out, connect at the underside of the vehicle? Is that just older vehicles? My sister recently bought a conversion van e150 (1994) to redesign and van life in and we've been having fun getting the seats out. Granted were are trying to fully remove the seats in the back so she has "room" but we have to have one person under the vehicle and one inside to get those bolts and nuts off. 2/3 done in 2 days...this van is a beast. And pulling the seats makes it so easy to clean.. My van is much easier to take the seats out of 😆. Hers...not so easy. Any tips?
I’m just a 21 year old girl watching a grown man clean cars for hours with no intention of ever doing it 😂 lol I feel like everyone here is parent or details. I just love watching these videos!
Ehh I’m 26 and spent a few hours today super detailing my car, the hardest part was cleaning out the engine bay, I kept putting it off for over 6 months and it just keeps getting worse, the cars just barely 2 years old and I wanted it to feel like the day I got it, turned out way better than I expected. Love getting into my car and everything being as clean as the day I got it, plus listening to a non muffled flat 4 from Subaru is really relaxing so having a perfectly clean car and a good sounding one makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside lmao. It’s a great feeling when you cleaned every inch of your car and got everything wiped down. I still need to clean in between the doors and I bought a degreaser so I might go back in tomorrow and get the engine bay as perfect as I can, other than that all I got left to do is clean the infotainment center and wipe down the glass on the inside and then wash her. Can’t wait to be fully finished, my car stays really clean though, it’s mainly just dust that collects on the dashboard but I like to clean up the whole car at least once a month if I can. I let me car go for about 6 months once and all there was, were a few receipts, lots of dust and some dirty windows and panels. But nothing like any of the cars on this channel,
27 here and I can detail but working 50-70 hours a week and doing full time school makes me have no time to clean my car the way I really want to. I have to use a full service car wash because I have no time.
A couple of weeks ago I bought a 2000 Honda Civic 4 door disaster for $400! I put a radiator and a head gasket in it to get it running and smogged and then it was disaster detail time. Previous owner smoked and ate in it and it was absolutely filthy. I pulled all the seats, console carpet and got to work with folex and a drill brush! I vacuumed and extracted everything and even cleaned the headliner. Last I protected everything with 303 aerospace and I swear it looks brand new inside!!! I’ve been detailing my own cars for years but used a few of your tips and tricks and it made the job easier and it brought it to the next level. Thanks man, love the videos. Cheers from Ventura, CA
I am the original owner and I request that you send me my Tiffany bracelet. It was a gift from my mom so it's worth a lot to me. (p.s: what is a Tiffany bracelet?)
Tbh when I was a detailer full time, sometimes the last thing I wanted to do at the end of the day was clean my own car. Even when I did I wasn't nearly as picky as when I did a customer car.
The LR4 is quite simply the best Land Rover produced. The 3.0 V6 Diesel and 5.0 V8 are perfect for this car, it rides perfectly, and it takes seven people. I used to drive them new in the docks to export, and I have been lusting after them ever since. And I drove Aston Martins, Bentley's, Rolls Royce, BMWs, Jaguars... All of the best of the best of British, and the one I always wanted to drive was the Land Rover Discovery 4.
Ugh if I wasn't 39 weeks pregnant I'd be deep cleaning my car right now.. so watching these videos will just have to do lol (I'm having a c section on the 27th so I'll be bingeing your videos while in the hospital)
Watching these during Quarantine inspired me to detail my own car. It’s no joke! It took me 6 hours to do my small sedan and I just let some things go! Mad respect to professional detailers who do this day in and day out!
Hey Stauffer. I pulled the bucket seats and vinyl flooring out of my Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. I found a TON of nasty dog hair since the vehicle had been a K9 officers car before. I cleaned it up, lined the metal floor with sound deadening material called Killmat and the installed Mass-backed carpet instead of the vinyl. The car feels much more luxurious now since it's a LOT quieter and has actual carpet instead of plastic flooring. Great videos!
I pulled out my seats in my car yesterday and gave it a nice detail and it made such a big difference, I managed to get the car looking better then it ever has :)
It's nice to see that even detailers periodically have messy cars. But then "the plumbers toilet is always leaking....". I'm not being mean - it's just nice to see that detailers are human like the rest of us. Keep up the great work James - you rock!! And while I've never pulled the seats or carpet out of any of my vehicles it makes perfect sense. Not only do you get access to all the hidden "treasures", but when pulling the carpet you can also note any floor pan damage that may be present,
I love seeing your own cars being cleaned. Messes happen but it can always be cleaned. Love your wife's channel, her voice is so relaxing. We love vacuum lines.
Thanks to your great tips and videos, I took on detailing our 2010 Challenger R/T Classic. Pulling out the seats and console made it much easier to access everything. In about 4 1/2 hrs time, it turned out looking and smelling like new even being 10 years old. Thanks for educating us how to clean efficiently and completely for pro results.
I have been pulling seats out when I detail my own personal vehicle for years. Everyone makes fun of me for doing it too, but my car is ALWAYS cleaner than theirs. I don't have a dog but my wife and daughter brush their hair in the car and I ♥️ the Lily Brush!
I have never pulled my seats out! Scary thought 😬lol. So cool that you're in Columbus, Ohio like myself..hope you and your family are staying healthy and safe!
I always wanted to take out the seats in my car but thought I was being too type A since the dirt between the center console drove me nuts. I finally did it after finding your channel. So glad I did that!
Nice job on the interior detailing, very helpful on how you showed and described your process cleaning a vehicle. I am so going to do your method on my SUV thank you for your demonstration on how to clean.
I've detailed cars without pulling seats and with pulling seats. The difference in quality of job done as well as ease of cleaning the carpet with the seats out is absolutely worth it.
I removed the ENTIRE interior of my first car so I could clean every part, replace the carpet, and put the whole shabang into another car that didn’t have the rust problems my 1st car had. And I have plans in the near future to pull out the driver seat of my antique Mercedes so I can put in new horsehair seat padding (sometime in the past, a previous owner had replaced it with foam)
This is the professional way to detail the car ,especially when you have a dirty interior you need to remove the seats, so you can clean all the unreachable corners. Also, you are the only one that i have seen who do the detailing this way
You should get a small garbage bin for the car if you don’t have one. We used to have a small cloth one that would Velcro to the floor. My aunt and uncle just use a small plastic garbage bin. Really helps to keep the floors picked up especially with kids 👍
Have never taken my seats out as I am fearful that I might not get them back in correctly.. Glad to see that you use a regular car cleaning tool on most of your vacuuming. Many detailers use a crevice tool for the entire vacuuming and that makes the vacuuming process alot longer. But then again, to each his own.. Your videos are great and I do use alot of your tips.
FYI, I contacted WeatherTec too because my floor mats looked the same way. They said they offered a ONE time replacement but often letting them sit in the hot sun one day, will unfold them and soften them back to their normal shape. Worth a try when it gets warmer!!
YES!!! I pull my seats out of my care once every 6 months or so. I detail cars as a hobby so yea.. I don't always extract the carpets..just after every winter or so. Also, congratulations for your channel and content. Definitely my favorite detailing channel
I have a Honda Odyssey (2008) that gets the 2nd row seats pulled on a regular basis to clean. I use the Odyssey to haul around friends for various reasons and conventions. At that point, and especially on an 8-12 hour trip; trash gets everywhere despite my best efforts to keep it contained to plastic bags. Yes, some of my friends might as well be kids again. I also had the 2nd row seating carpet up once, but that was to replace a fuel pump, nothing really under it in the way of gunk and dirt.
When I watch these, I realize there are sections of my car that I've never cleaned. It inspires me to be more detailed in my next car cleaning effort. Great job!
Just purchased a 04 Tahoe Z71 in late February and pulled all the seats since I can't work and boy it was a mess. But it was the best 6 hours I've had in awhile.
Yasss I couldn’t fall asleep! But now I can watch this satisfying video and then pause it when I get sleepy and then finish when I wake up☺️ #insomnia Thank you for this!
I use a leaf blower to detail my pickup. Also works wonders on quick drying a vehicle after washing. After seeing that glass cleaner tool, however, I did jump right to Amazon to order one.
we have the same car and i hate to clean the interior because it is so angled. once we spent an hour looking for the car key under the seats ... and I can confirm that the carpets shed, which I find just so sad in such an expensive car.
I just vacuumed my car out today (it's been at least a year 😱) but I've never pulled out carpet or anything. I don't trust myself to remove anything from my car that's bolted down lol. I typically just vacuum, declutter, and spray simple green to clean up lol. I wish I had one of your spin brushes and cleaning solution! My carpet was stained when we bought the car (used car) and we've never tried to get them out, but I bought a foaming stain remover made by turtle wax. I tried it on a seat (bench seat that's between my kids) and it did pretty well. You seriously do an amazing job!!
Been watching you UA-cam channel for a while now and I’m very thankful cause I’ve been learning a lot and a bunch of new tricks!💪🏽 one thing I would like to see is how you dilute your carpet cleaner and other chemicals 🤔. Once again we all thank you for showing us new tricks to detailing
Pulled the rear set out of my girlfriend's Mazda6 to replace the fuel pump. So many goldfish (????) and pretty much any other snack/dirt item you could imagine down there. That was very satisfying to vacuum
When i was in highschool I had a 91 Cadillac Fleetwood brougham and once a month I would detail it completely. Pull the seats the, the rims, do the engine bay and undercarriage, and polish all the chrome
I just bought my first project vehicle to learn how to work on cars. It’s a 1997 Nissan Hardbody and I’m so excited! 😁 I just took out all the carpet and seats because the passenger side carpet was soaked and it was gross anyway haha. Love your videos!
Just an FYI, you can use the rubber drawer mats under your car seats in a leather clad car to avoid movement of the car seat. Once you clean the leather the car seats tend to want to move. The rubber drawer mats prevent that.
I ended up pulling out the carpets, seats, and trim when I bought my 18 CX-5. It was CPO and low mileage but I still found junk hidden between the console and the floor panels. I cleaned everything and added additional sound dampening while I was in there.
I told my mother in law that I'd clean out her van when we got back from our road trip to Columbus a couple of years ago. I also did some mechanical work on it since that was a tough venture lol. But, when we got back, I took all of the seats out and found stuff from the owners before her, 9 years prior 😂😂 2 years later, she gave it to me! Time to clean it again 😂
My husband and I pulled the carpet out of a truck we were given, pressure washed it and painted it. It was a light gray(we painted it a darker gray) and was disgusting! It had been at least 6 years since it'd been cleaned. It cost maybe 15 bucks for the paint we used and it looked SO good when we were done.
I wouldn’t pull out the seats or carpet in my car, but I think it’s super cool that you did. Fun to see that you can actually take that stuff out. I wouldn’t even know where to begin.
Pulling out seats is pretty common especially if you need to clean underneath them, what is crazy tho is pulling out the headliner to get rid of stains
Nicely done. With a family of "lIttles" it is tough keeping the family wheels clean. The full contour mats were a great investment and absolutely saved those light colored rugs. Yes I have removed the seats in my vehicles a time or two and it pays off so you can get the hidden schmutz. Well done sir. I am sure the "wife unit" is pleased.
Not crazy for removing at all! I plan to do that eventually when it warms up outside. I wonder if you could take a heat gun to the Weathertechs to get those folds back to their original shape? 🤔🤔
Since I started following your channel I decided to excecute a full cleaning on my car and my Wife´s. I did remove the seats of both cars but I still don´t feel confiden enougth to remove the carpets. But now bothe cars are completelly different after my full cleaning sessions removing the seats. I have a 2007 Jetta and a 2004 Fiat Weekend. I´m following you from Costa Rica.
I love the new tool for cleaning the windscreen - going to get one of those as I always struggle to clean the inside of the windscreen and do a good job. Thanks!
I actually just took out my front seats for a deep clean on my Tacoma a few days ago for the first time. Nerve wracking, but totally worth it for everything I got vacuumed out!
Hello! I’m a professional detailer. Does spraying directly onto surfaces such as the steering wheels with electronic controls not affect the performance of the controls? Have you had any complaints? The shop I work for suggests that we spray the bristle brush and scrub dirt away so that the cleaner doesn’t damage the electronics in the vehicles.

Nope not at all. If you have the time to do it it is absolutely worth doing to get a good deep clean.

The sped-up lily-brush footage is so satisfying
love it
I pulled the carpet out of my old car and found a genuine Tiffany bracelet that belonged to the original owner!
Wow!
Bonus gift with purchase!
I am the original owner and I request that you send me my Tiffany bracelet. It was a gift from my mom so it's worth a lot to me.
(p.s: what is a Tiffany bracelet?)
Oh my god! Do you know who the original owner was?

Chromatic Auto Detailing you produce some pretty good content yourself!

I like how you take things apart to do a deep cleaning and it amazes me when you're able to put it back together!😃

He gets every where in the car he never missed a spot that's what inspires me to do that to my car
I wouldn’t pull out the seats or carpet in my car, but I think it’s super cool that you did. Fun to see that you can actually take that stuff out. I wouldn’t even know where to begin.
What about the seat bealts? He didnt clean them. Lol awesome job
Its really higher level of detailing standard... Really inspired us in the same field.
Such a good looking vehicle always thought they had the perfect blend of class and utility.
I love the new tool for cleaning the windscreen - going to get one of those as I always struggle to clean the inside of the windscreen and do a good job. Thanks!
Absolutely once of my favourite cars!!! I just love it!!!😍😍😍😍😍Great job!!
Your not crazy, just normal. Awesome job.
Bruh I did all this to my car this weekend! I’ve already got people asking me to do theirs! The drill brushes are a complete game changer!
