Ken acts as companion for that ‘one’ listener and adds comfort, consistency and genuine warmth. A man who appears to be devoid of ego and full of humility.
Was worried that a way of life had ended then by chance found him on Greatest Hits, so pleased, back to normality. All the best in your brave new venture Ken. I would bet money that a massive amount of listeners have moved with you. 👍🏻👍🏻
Missed Ken on BBC Breakfsst TV yesterday morning but heard popmaster on Greatest Hits Radio yesterday .A true professional as always Ken. Thank goodness you took popmaster with you. Had the pleasure of speaking with your goodself when I took part in this iconic phone In 2016 . Hoping too take part again sometime. Thanks for a great show Ken & team ❤🎉😂😊❤. Carry on the good work.
He sounded like a man reborn on GHR. He even said on TV ths morning that maybe he should have moved sooner. The BBC let the biggest fish in the pond get clean away and who is his replacement? Vernon Kay. Says it all........
Given up on radio 2. Steve Wright gone,Simon Mayo no longer and Ken Bruce missing. Minute that Sarah Cox comes on car radio switched to Spotify instantly. Once was a big fan of radio 2.Sadly no longer.
He sounded great to me, having the adverts takes a bit of getting used to as some are quite awful, but I’m sure he will do great good luck Ken. Radio 2 are fools going in the totally wrong direction.
Ken Bruce .....What a guy great servant to the bbc over the years.Super broadcaster on the radio it's the bbc loss but definitely Greatest Hits again. The BBC is falling apart in the real world, probably will eventually disappear so Ken along with the other PROPER DJs have made the right decisions to move ...The BBC are so out of touch now ......
Same hear when I can't get a reception for greatest hits the radio is off, I'm a lorry driver and radio 2 was always on in the back ground but not anymore 😊 there are some great old names on greatest hits (Dj's that is)
Considering he was let go on effective ‘garden leave’ as the BBC were fearful of him taking the audience, seems bloody stupid why he would be given airtime plugging on ‘BBC’ Breakfast.
I think Ms/r Beeb was saying - if you WANT Golden Oldies then you can have them - on GHR - Beeby doesn't want too much of a certain Blackburnian Wrightian Gener-ra-tion Demob-graphic
Good luck auld Ken at GHR. Everyone is replacable, no matter how good you they are. You had 40 years at the BEEB. Remember when you were younger and started at radio 2.
He really smashed it on GHR. I have listened all week. Main observation? The music is SO much better (although repetitive...) - and at least a welcome departure from the stuff he got bogged down with on Radio 2 - Tracks Of My Years has gone for example. What a Pro. BBCs loss, commercial radio's gain
Unfortunately GHR not available Isle of Man... Now complete sh!t on the radio. Ken, between 9:30 and noon was the ONLY form of entertainment on r2. Radio is now silenced.
I'm surprised that the BBC is promoting his show on the commercial rival Greatest Hits Radio, especially as it's going to steal a lot of Radio 2 listeners.
Used to listen all the time to radio 2 only listen now to Steve Wright on a Sunday Tony Blackburn Paul gambicinni and Gary Davies otherwise radio 2 is crap
Followed you ken on radio 2 and loved it, unfortunately the station you now work for just play the same old boring song day after day. Ken your worth so much more than this...
Ken should just tell it as it is like all the other presenter's at radio 2 his age was against him the only difference being he will take a lot of listener's with him a great presenter down to earth the only BBC station I listen to now is radio Manchester planet rock and Ken's new station the sooner they get rid off BBC the better overpaid presenter's politically biased I also thought the 2 presenters who interviewed him where disrespectful and childish
I mean, he has reached quite an age, looking admirable for it, does he not want to don his kilt and go off exploring the Trossachs, forget all this GHR palaver and relax a wee while?
The vocal sound quality on GHR is appalling - cheap and cheerful - Ken Bruce's calling card is his rich vocal tone. GHR have done their best to make him sound like a chipmunk.
I totally agree. I tuned in and his voice sounded shallow, compressed like he was in a over padded room! Love Ken but really hope they sort out the sound issue. Hand on heart, I am not sure how long I will listen, adverts are a sure fire killer for me, I feel they will soon grate once too many times!
Thankfully I can pick up Nation radio and when Ken is on I tune into Russ Williams. Ken for sure is no good on commercial radio. Out of Nation and greatest hits Nation has a far more big and wide playlist. Coming across greatest hits not only too many adverts but they are stuck to playing the same 9 records all day long that's 3 songs from the 70's, 3 from the 80's and 3 from the 90's. When I have heard Nation radio they can play a song from the 1960's next to a song from today and adverts are not as long.
He announced he listens to other radio stations. Maybe during the month he listened to Russ Williams or Boom radio. I reckon he is a Boom radio listener for 21 hours a day.
I agree. He’s just another DJ. The ones who deserve praise, are those on the talk stations. Music stations don’t even need a DJ these days. It’s all playlists.
New station..same old Ken...thank goodness... great having him back on air!!
Great show. Listened this morning. Well done Ken. 👍
He sounded amazing on greatest hits , listening from work , loved the pop quiz
Ken acts as companion for that ‘one’ listener and adds comfort, consistency and genuine warmth. A man who appears to be devoid of ego and full of humility.
Ken Bruce has been my hero for over 30 years.
He has made me laugh and cry throughout the best and worst times in my life.
Love him
It was great to have Ken Bruce back on air, he’s a true professional and makes it all sound effortless. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Very diplomatic answer on why he left bbc. True professional and a legend.
now deleted r2 and added GHR, the bbc has totally lost the plot in all areas.
It's a Generation thing and it's no longer for our generation😢
Was worried that a way of life had ended then by chance found him on Greatest Hits, so pleased, back to normality. All the best in your brave new venture Ken. I would bet money that a massive amount of listeners have moved with you. 👍🏻👍🏻

A canny Scot there I reckon, and very astute to hold the rights to his Popmaster creation. All the very best to "our Ken".
Legend.

We all love you Ke Great you are backn
Great to have Ken back! He's well rid of the cr*p BBC.
Finest broadcaster of our time..legend
He's a living radio legend like Tony Blackburn and David Hamilton. Long may he reign.
Hi Geoff, and don't forget Johnny Walker 😊
Tony Blackburn is sick at the moment and not currently broadcasting, according to his own Twitter feed.
I wish him well
Love you Ken ❤❤
Ken missed his calling, he should have been a diplomat!
I thought the headlines were that he couldn't even complete his contract when he was anticipating stepping aside he was shown the door earlier
I cannot believe the BBC did this live preview of his new show on a rival broadcaster?? Maybe a slight twig of an olive branch from the BBC ?
Love pop master 💯💯💯
Given up on radio 2. Steve Wright gone,Simon Mayo no longer and Ken Bruce missing.
Minute that Sarah Cox comes on car radio switched to Spotify instantly. Once was a big fan of radio 2.Sadly no longer.
Great show.
I doubt you’ll see Ken on the BBC again.
He sounded great to me, having the adverts takes a bit of getting used to as some are quite awful, but I’m sure he will do great good luck Ken. Radio 2 are fools going in the totally wrong direction.
I think I read somewhere if you paid a small fee. £3 a month they put music in place of the adverts..
@Lloyd Burdis : Have you never listened to commercial radio?
Nice one Ken! loved your show on 2 but TBH all the best DJS ARE moving predominately to GRT Hits
A legend in is own right
Ken sounded like a man reborn on GHR last week.
Ken Bruce .....What a guy great servant to the bbc over the years.Super broadcaster on the radio it's the bbc loss but definitely Greatest Hits again. Ken is the ultimate professional and gent. Very few left in the bland and banal Pond.
Is there anyone left at BBC radio 2. The young female boss wants all the legends OUT
radio what?
Now she's fucked 6MUSIC too, well done Miss Moy, the real reason he left?

Their biggest loss since wogan
What inane questioning, they’re asking questions looking at the clock , ok Ken here’s your 3 minutes left question
Good luck auld Ken at GHR. Everyone is replacable, no matter how good you they are. You had 40 years at the BEEB. Remember when you were younger and started at radio 2.
So true, so true. Every one and every thing is replaceable. That's why I've now replaced Radio 2 with Greatest Hits!
He'll have resigned by Christmas.
Missing his dulcet tones already 😢😊
Better music on ghr but the ads really annoy me .
Why would the BBC promote a commercial radio station on BBC tv 🤔?
Ken has been so professional about leaving the BBC and these two clowns were trying to belittle him. Tossers.
Ken listens to Boom radio 100% guaranteed. He likes music unlike the other idiots on radio 2
Adverts🤬
He really smashed it on GHR. I have listened all week. Main observation? The music is SO much better (although repetitive...) - and at least a welcome departure from the stuff he got bogged down with on Radio 2 - Tracks Of My Years has gone for example.

A good mix you'll hear day after day after day. As much as I love Ken, the limited playlist on GHR is offputting for daily listening.
@Thespian 1961 He should have gone to Boom. Much more of a playlist...
But it's the same tunes over and over, and over.

I can listen on my iPhone using Apple Music - the radio facility.
Ken has a great face for radio...but a true proffesional..never once a mention of "celebrities"
Your fans want you to stay for a long time😅😅😅
I bet Ken listens to Boom Radio.
???
National radio then after cat and Ewing on it Scotland

Don't believe that he hadn't listened to ten to the top 😂 probably thinks it's rubbish like we all do 😂
His listeners will only listen to Ken To The Top.
And BBC2 radio listeners have dropped massively, plus they're gutted to lose pop master, lol
BBC breakfast really is terrible - amateur presentation, poor research, bland items !
You’re describing the BBC as a whole. It’s truly awful these days.
Followed you ken on radio 2 and loved it, unfortunately the station you now work for just play the same old boring song day after day. Ken your worth so much more than this...

they're using him like hell for the tv advertising at the moment - the new star of the station - the man of the moment with his 70+ years
Time to give it up Ken. Give some else a go
All this Ken nonsense needs to stop and people stop crying into their morning cereal
I mean, he has reached quite an age, looking admirable for it, does he not want to don his kilt and go off exploring the Trossachs, forget all this GHR palaver and relax a wee while?
