If you paint rocks red and put them in your strawberry patch a month before the strawberries come in, the birds and squirrels will go to eat them then realize they are rocks. then when your strawberries come in they think those are rocks 😉 worked like a charm for me this year, i had triple what i usually have cuz there were no critters eating them and i didn’t have a net or fence

Personally, I like to leave a little bit of my garden's harvest for the local wildlife. I think it's nice to share a few strawberries or cabbages with the critters-they're just trying to survive too. I wish more people could do the same 🥺
I've also read that they eat a bite here or there for the water content. Some have had success putting a dish of water or even a little solar fountain in the garden.

Why you don’t have 1 million 550 thousand subscribers is a mystery to me … pigeon! Everything you do is elegant; choice of content, videography, music, editing … all so viewer focused and respectful. As a Northerner, I can confirm that Tebay services is equally as wonderful as Gloucester and you can sit outside and enjoy fantastic views over to the Lake district fells 💗

It was Cumbria that led the way with boogie farm shops. Tebay opened probably 20 years ago and has more recently opened Gloucester and ??? For all those years Tebay was the only decent farm shop in the UK. Westmorland is a part of Cumbria hence the name. I think I am right in saying that the original owners,who may have been farmers, employed a buyer from Harris Food Hall, to set it up.
It isn’t often the north has anything to shout about in terms of farm shops, but we can claim this one! 🤣

They also have Tebay services in the Lake District and is family run. They also had a TV series on C4 to show how they champion the local area.
I love Tebay services. They paved the way, back in the 70s.
So lovely having a coffee and walk in the garden to wake one’s soul.

There's a service station in the Lake District which is like Gloucester Services. Bizarrely, there's a documentary about it on channel 4, as it was so unique. I think the one in the Lake District opened in the 70s and was one of its kind for a long time.
Tebay Services. It's owned by the same people.
Loved the pieces from River Island. The pale yellow dress, although a cheap fabric, was actually my favorite. You looked so pretty in it. I very much enjoyed your Ibiza vlog. Charlie was so sweet to plan such a great trip and "Happy 1st. Anniversary" to you both.
Here is a tip to avoid the almost inevitable 'plane air conditioning' cold when you travel, given to me by my GP who said she was fed up with getting a head cold on the outgoing journey of a vacation, then recovering during the two/three week holiday and then getting another infection on the return journey. She recommended First Defence micro nasal spray (Vicks) it coats the inside of the nose where most bugs proliferate. It works for everyone I've passed this tip to and of course is also recommended for use and the very very first sign of a sore tickly throat, sneezing etc.

They ate all my roses, daisies, flowers, young lemons and leaves too. Also stole or ate some bulbs. Get bird nettings (fr Amazon), wad them up and put around bases of plants or over your potted bulbs/flowers. This helped me to have a few blooms this summer.

I have a silver bell and use it to summon the family for e.g. dinner. For other stuff, walk to talk not shout or yell.
Pigeon and 👍🏼 also love the white dress with side cut outs and the adorable seashells dangling down. Such a fun dress, so simple and inexpensive but such a gem! Id wear it at summer bbq, brunch, holiday lunch.

The Gloucester services are part of the Tebay group and the one on the edge of the lakes is the first and HQ x

Hi Josie. I’ve been following you since last Christmas since we went to the Cotswald and fell in love! I was so happy to find your vlogmas it got us through missing The Cotswalds and the COVID we caught while in London jammed packed Christmas week, I’m commenting to tell you I so enjoy your vlogs and beautiful home, but also as a nurse please get your foot checked by a dr, there are many bones in the foot esp the top, you could further damage it by exercising w/o dr approval, I’m sorry to step out of my place, but I don’t want you to really damage it, keep up your beautiful vlogs! You are the bright spot in my week, we’ll be back this year I hope to bump into you! It would make our trip, All our best!

The closer you get to the Poles, the longer the days or nights are near the winter and summer solstaces. If you are near the Equator more, the hours of daylight aren't so pronounced...luckily, the pigeons don't get confused! :)

Hi Josie, about 10am here in California, I got my jog in at 7 am because its going to be 97 degrees today. Everything looking beautiful where you are, looking forward to visiting there and seeing my mum in September! Hope your foot gets better soon. I accidentally knocked a water bottle off a table and onto an acquaintance’s foot years ago, poor thing it really hurt but it was a complete accident and I apologized profusely. Anyway she basically ended our friendship after that!
