Awesome little project, & great vid! I really enjoyed this one. Great job on the boat, & getting it back rolling. That 40 is perfect. You don't need anything more than that.... on that boat. Perfect, for what it is, & pushed that thing right along with ease. That Johnson 70 is going to be perfect for another project, with something a little heavier. I can't wait to see how that 70 turns out!

      Well said.
How quickly it planes, and how it handles, how it steers, everying about it just makes it a comfortable boat. I was really quite impressed minutes into my firts trip.

search ebay. complete kits available, but also kits to convert your motor to a traditional non-pressure fuel pump so you can simplify things.

Just flop in a Terminal board and hook the leads for the accessories up to it, and a bus bar for negative near the battery/s in the bilge. 2 leads for the accessories, 2 leads for the starting circuit for the motor. done. then you can be satisfied cutting the rats nest out:)

@@BrandonsGarage I have a 1995 15hp Johnson outboard and I was trying to get it to run normal. Couldn't figure how to test the power pack so I just bought a new one hoping it would fix the problem. I also bought new coils and plugs rebuilt carb and new fuel lines. I even checked fuel pump for gaskets and dirt found a bunch behind the screen. The motor runs and idles good now! Had questions for you but don't remember what I wanted to ask. Enjoy the outboard and boat videos though.

Wow nice 👍 ! Tracker outboard on a Tracker boat makes sense ! Lol. You are forgetting the outboards ! Granted you owned them but they at some point cost money ! I’m jealous I cant fish outside year around ! By the way that troller is a lake troller not a river one ! Haha. I have some odd stuff I’d like to send you but I don’t have address ! Also with a bass boat you need 2 depth finders ! It’s the law here in Minnesota ! Not really but looks cooler ! Looks like I’m going to have to come down there and teach you how to fish and cast ! LMAO ! Plus you need anchors ! I figured your traveling about 35 mph which is respectable ! Who the hell would paint everything GREEN !!!! Up here I just put a mechanics lien and get a clean title , easy pessy ! Again nice rig ! Have fun !

I’m in CA also. Fishing that Colorado River is pretty sad compared to Minnesota lakes. I’ve gone there a few times for walleye. The only negative were the mosquitoes. I came home with 1000 bites.

      The mosquito? That's hilarious.
There is a Vietnam joke that comes to mind:
The mosquitoes are so big, one landed on a helicopter pad and two guys ran out to refuel it.
Send me an email and Ill shoot my address on over
      evinrudegarage@gmail.com
The boat had 2 fish finders, so I guess its standard here too. A mechanics lean works; but the owner can contest it, and it takes 30 days. Usually, the item has been sold 15 times and never registered. Then, a lien comes along and the owner who sold it long ago gets the ability to buy it back (minus storage and repair fees) that happened to my buddy on a Buick Skylark, owner from the 90's came back demanding his car back (which he sold long ago) he even came to pay the storage fees, expecting it to still be in near mint shape.
Recovered abandoned method comes back same day, you leave with paperwork.

Awesome little project Brandon. It should make a great test bed. It looked like it was scooting along pretty well with a 40hp, that thing would be capable of flight with a 70.

      Hows the pontoon?

    • @DougsMessyGarage
      @DougsMessyGarage 3 роки тому

@@BrandonsGarage For some reason this video didn't show up in my cue right away. I turned on the notifications now so that won't happen again.
Pontoon is coming along great. The Yamaha I found is a much nicer motor that the Force that came with it. The problem is that the Force was driving a lot of traffic to my videos. I am looking for a suitable project boat to put the Force on for next summer.
Remember the big gear from a year ago? I tried floating it a couple of weeks ago. My self designed lift bag wasn't quite up to the task but a small redesign should fix the problem. I have lots of lift capacity its just that the bag didn't lift quite straight so the pillow wanted to pop out of the straps. I'll be doing a video on the bag build soon.
