Very interesting. I did this in 2020 to my 19 Gt (v6) and it was great except for not shifting quick enough in 1st and 2nd. It would rev limit, bog, shift, then do it again. Aside from that I had no other issues. I wonder if this is specific to the trans tuning for the 1320?
I did the 3.09 to 3.90 swap in my 16 A8 Scat in 2016 and had issues too. car would hit fuel limiter on 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. figured out all I needed to do was pull TCM fuse to clear learned adaptives and car was good. gained .1 in the 60' and another .1 in the 1/8th. back half did not change.
DEMON JR 1320 the charger? Has headers, exhaust, custom tuning, weight reduction. That’s why he’s reeling me in. I still gained 2 MPH with the new gears. It feels like it’s pulling the back half. Lol.
What was the DA? I went 11.30 with nothing more than a swap to skinnies up front at Atco on Nov 1 DA was about -400. Here in FL I went 11.48 with stock Nextel’s on all 4 corners.
Can’t even swap gears without it wrecking havoc on the whole drivetrain. That’s why I just don’t like these new computer controlled Challengers. I want to like them and almost bought one a month ago. I’m just frustrated with them and I keep wanting to get a vintage one instead. I really miss my GB5 blue 1971 that I stupidly sold 21 years ago. I could put 4.10 gears in the 71 with zero problems and it didn’t weigh anywhere near 4400 lbs!! Even a big 71 Charger weighs less at 4050 lbs..
Brandon E618 legmaker intake, 3.90 rear gear. Stock tune. No weight reduction. Still got the subwoofer in the trunk lol. Near future to come is a tune so that the car is ok with the gear and a converter.

let me know how the tune works with the codes and what codes are they. I just put 3.90s in my scat and am tuned but not sure if its my pedal commander messing up, my cars throwing throttle codes what codes are you getting. The codes haven't come back since I messed with the pedal commander connection it was losing power turning on and off. but I haven't ran it hard after that yet.
Actually the problem was the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) for why it was going into fail safe. I think the hellcat throttle body I have is messed up, because it's gotten worse just in daily driving. Going to get a new one and see what happens. Do you think my problem may be the same as yours though?
Green Machine Racing if you have a pedal commander I just reached down and pushed the connectors together and it hasn’t done it since. My throttle body I Ported myself and it’s the stock one and it’s been on the car over a year so that’s not it. I’m pretty sure mine was the pedal commander connection just perfect timing with the rear diff swap. I plan on getting to the track next week.
@@gianatiemporacing My Scat Pack went 11.4 @ 121 at 600 DA with a 100 octane tune and 305 M/T ET Street R tires. Your car will probably go 10.9s. I never did a trans tune. I had kooks headers, Borla ATAK exhaust with catless mids and those exhaust modifications did NOTHING to improve the times. The PCM Tune and lite wheels and tires is where it was at.
If you don't mind me asking, how did you go about adding the 3.90 gear? Buy a whole unit? or ring and pinion and install it on factory 3rd member? I will be looking to do the same with my challenger is why I'm asking. Thanks in advance for your response.
u mentioned yur car weighs 4400, u must have alot of options in yur car cause my 1320 weighed 3950 at the track with front skinnys and no rear seat or pass seat, 1/4 tank of fuel, my best 1/4 mile ET was 11.55 stock @ 118 with a 1.65 60 ft, i'm sure yull do better once yur car has a tune for those 390 gears u put in

My 1320 is 4170 pounds add my weight 160 pounds plus fuel , say 8 gallons ( 56 pounds ) = 4386 ... Pretty darn close to 4400 pounds ..

In my 1320 stock just seat delete I ram 11.22 in the 1/4 mile. Up here in Kentucky also I had a tire

Michael Wilcox let the car do the work. The one time I shifted and did it, it ran 11.80’s. Wasn’t helping much.

Hoosier Drag Bracket Radials 28"x17". Hoosier Drag Front 27.5"x 17".
Once you get a tune I think the car will wake up 11.5 no problem.

The v6 is 3900 the scat v8 is 4400
My stock scat ran faster than that bone stock on street tires and full interior
3.90 gears make no difference. Stick with 309's
