@@kathrynwaldorf2189 Don't make the same mistake like I did... I wasted 12yrs of my youth... Instead of learning to let go and nobody around to teach me how, I kept holding the past for 12 years. When finally I'm ready to move on... that's when another problem begins wasted another 8 yrs finding "The One".... Now am in early 40s and can't find the ones I can accept and likewise. Choices been extremely narrow.
Time waits for no one. At the end of the day, we will end up being alone when our parents leave and siblings leading their own lives.

petite pearls idk if this is right but from my perspective. I see it as symbolism of her moving on and the heartache of trying to forget her and everything. Could be symbolism that he’s forgotten everything bout her even what she looks like but the realisation of his love for her in his heart is what brings his memory back to her
If she was the "one" for him why didn't he recognize her on the spot when she tapped his shoulder, he looked at her like she was just an old classmate that he hasn't seen for a long time and not that close with or an ex-girlfriend who he dated short term and wasn't serious with. No way can you forget the "one" unless he had amnesia.

My first love gave me the song that same as this story tittle. She went to eygpt for further her studies and we didn't breakup. Instead, we had promised to stay and wait till she graduate. But, after 1.5years we broke up. And, it's hurt me. Now she already become a doctor and I'm happy for her. Soulmates. Nahhh... Love is just a losing game. Enjoy and appreciate the current moment with your loved ones.
She made the right decision. He could have been supportive and kept connected with her. Followed her after NS, and catch up on ambitions but yet chose to remain at the starting point. He would have less to no regrets had he tried harder.

in my perspective, if you really love someone, you want to help them achieve their goals and support them all the way. She clearly has a life ambition which she did mentioned that he should know how much this means to her. It’s not wrong for him wanting her to stay, but the way he is begging her to stay for him is making things even more difficult for her, even sounds like a guilt trip. Even if she stayed and they continued with the relationship, it feels like it would be a rlly unhealthy one. You need to help each other grow and lift each other up, not pull the other party down just for yourself. Just my opinion.

Awesome film! I guess my situation was something like this but except it was long distance. I broke up 2 months ago after being together for three years, it still feels like torture now although I did feel better about myself. But it's the best for both parties for them both to be happy and not forcing them to stay. You love your partner and you want the best for them, hold them tightly but let them go gently when needed to, hopefully one of you out there will get stronger and inspire others in your journey!
