10:19 Time stamp for aggressive page turning. 📃 Thank you for describing your process in detail, it's helpful to hear what kinds of things you focus on when learning a piece.
#Schubert i really like Schubert because he is romantic but at the same time he has something of classical. He is able to create from a very simple line complex and articolutate variations. I like his music also because he repeats a lot phrases or structure, but they never get boring. I love this impromptu, because is very different from the other three of op. 90, but in few bars you can find the style he used in the others.
I won't have enough time to write everything I like about #Schubert. He's the first composer I played on a piano, and if one day I have to chose the last piece I ever play, whatever it is it would be from Schubert.
This is probably one of my favorites if not my favorite Schubert work. I strive to learn this at higher level of technical and musical skill with the piano.
I love your transparency in this series. It really does show the work and effort you need to put in, even as someone who is already highly skilled as yourself. :)
#Schubert I find Schubert a fascinating and very enjoyable composer to listen to as, in my eyes, he represents a bridge between the classical and romantic eras and this is heard in his pieces. Hearing the Mozartian rigidity and simplicity paired with the expressive romanticism of composers like chopin lets you hear his pieces in so many different ways and creates a unique combination of ration and emotion. Hearing how his music changes between the two eras is incredible and makes way for huge variety in all of his pieces, much like Beethoven on a smaller timeline and thats why I love Schuberts music!
#Schubert I think he is an amazing composer, one who can combine quite simple melodies together to make a piece such as this one. Really displayed the technical requirements in order to play this piece well, great job as always!
#Schubert As a small boy I first heard a fragment of Schubert's Eighth Symphony (Unvollendete) watching The Smurfs on television. I have been drawn to his magical world ever since. The scope of his work is very broad, even though he died at such a young age. Playing his works on the piano and singing his Lieder with my own voice only deepened my love. It never gets boring.
Hey, it is hard to imagine to have taken piano lessons in Germany and not to have struggled with Schubert and notably some of the Impromtus and Moment Musicauxs! Certainly for the older generations… For me No. 4 is like something come from heaven, closely followed by No. 2. That is if is is played by a genius like Annique. For us ordinary people Schubert means struggle pleasant as it surely is.
#schubert I love how in his vocal music, the accompaniment is always written in such a way that it feels like a duet with the vocalist and pianist, rather than a melody with accompaniment :)
I requested a Schubert impromptu multiple times and am so happy to now see you have a go at one! You killed it Annique! I loved your interpretation. For anyone who enjoyed this piece I highly recommend listening to the other three impromptus in the op. 90 set. They’re all beautiful. There is also another set of four impromptus with opus no 142 - they’re great too. In my opinion Schubert’s best piano music is in the impromptus, though I’m sure many would disagree. Cheers
This piece exemplifies a lot of what I love about #Schubert. Beautiful tunes, the dramatic middle section, and it's unequivocally a piano piece with the sparkly effect throughout. I've worked on this pice over the years, and I've always liked the fact that it doesn't really get to A flat major until the second page. That's a beautiful moment.
#schubert while I absolutely adore almost every piece of Schubert this one has a special place in my heart because my sister used to play it all day long when I was young. Maybe that's why I love Schubert or classical music in general?!
#Schubert I love this piece mainly because of its elegance. It has such a way of creating beautiful phrases in wich the harmonies touch your soul. You played it well, your elegance is something unique that most pianist such as myself often try to work it out without real results. Your work is stunning as always! Thank you for sharing!
#schubert it’s one of my fav composers because I feel more connected to his music. I can feel what he’s trying to convey for the piece 😝 but still a pity that Schubert passed away at an early age… this legend is worth being remembered for a lifetime.
#Schubert I played this Impromptu in my final piano examination at school and then again in my first year at university. It is the piece that made me fall deeply in love with my instrument again. I love the clarity, the lightness, and the character of his works and it just brings me an absolute abundance of joy :)
Yayayyayyy one of myfavourite schubert pieces, one of the first pieces i heard of his! This was my comfort piece for a long time....I fell in love with how the melody in the left hand stands out amidst the right hand ....ah I can't explain which part im talking about....and the middle section has a sudden change of mood which took me by surprise when I heard this first #Schubert
#Schubert! I admire how he paved the way for romantic era to have shorter pieces! Also I love the fact he took part in the Anton Diabellie Waltz challenge! And this pice you picked his impromptu op 90 No.4 is my favorite of his!🥰😍🤩👏
#schubert My teacher loved Schubert above all, and her passion carried over to me. I adore his songlike melodies, and warm texture that feels like a hug. His fantasie for four-hands will always have a special place in my heart, as I played it with a dear friend at my senior recital.
#Schubert Weil er ist einfach krass, die musik drückt so viel aus und man kann so viel interpretieren, es macht einfach spass zuhören auch wie du das spielst ist wieder wunderbar, danke!
#Schubert I love the way Shubert weaves his melodies when writing for multiple instruments, they dance around each other in such an elegant way, from one instrument to another.
#Schubert I just love schubert's impromptus figure, especially this one's! Also the decision to start on A-flat minor always tricks me when I come to listen to it and read it's name :) Last thing, there are beautiful transformations here from major to minor keys of all kind (dominant, parallel keys) and it suddenly gets the piece to a whole different mood, I just love it!
#Schubert Hi Annique! Vielen Dank für deinen wunderbaren Klavierinhalt. Although I have only learned 4 pieces from Schubert, I find his music to be most comforting and his life story rather compelling. I am primarily a Chopin fanatic, playing 72 of his compositions, but someday would very much like to get more seriously into Franz Schubert's works. Have a nice day! Auf wiedersehen!
#Schubert this piece is actually one of the first classical pieces I heard because it was the theme for a classical music radio station I listen to a lot so it’s very nostalgic for me.
#Schubert As of today I am the proud owner of a Shigeru Kawai grand piano. Beyond excited. You inspired me to up my game. Thank you for your very instructive videos
Thanks for another great challenge. I have always loved #Schubert and his two collections of four Impromptus and six Moments Musicaux. If I'm not mistaken, Schubert was one of the first musicians the Henle published.
I love the way you talk about the challenges you face learning different pieces and some of the solutions you arrive at. I’ve only really leaned one piece by Schubert, the 3rd Impromptu from Opus 142. This one is one of my favourites though, and I hope to learn it too.
Von Schubert gibt es die "drei Klavierstücke", posthum veröffentlicht. Die sind wunderschön, vor allem das 1. und 2. Wenn du die noch nicht kennst, die wären bestimmt auch gut für eine Challange 👋
What I love about #Schubert is how powerful and expressive many of his pieces are. I haven't played much of him yet, but this Impromptu is at the top of my list :)
#schubert I enjoy Schubert, he is very romantic and I love it. This piece is probably my favourite Schubert piece by the way, it’s one of the first pieces that made me fall in love with classical music actually :)
#Schubert This is a really good piece and it’s just amazing how good you are at the piano. I have been watching you for a long time, I just want to say thank you for inspiring me to be a better piano player! If you haven’t learned it already could you do a 1min 10min 1hr challenge on chopins mazurka op56 no2 in cmajor
What I find even more amazing is that she supposedly never has played all those huge staples of the repertoire in all her years playing piano. I find that hard to believe.
I really love Schubert, he is one of my favorite composers (chamber music, lieder, orchestral music: it is always subtle and moving in the same time). I am a violinist and it is always a pleasure to play Schubert music: I played the trio op. 99 (not the famous one, but it is a real treasure: you should listen to it!), the quatuor "der Tod und das Mädchen" and the unfinished symphony.
I really enjoyed this video, I like #schubert music although I have never played it on the piano, but when I graduated from our music school in 1965 as a conducting and voice major my senior recital included several Schubert lieder. His music is beautiful and romantic, especially when you play it. 🎹🎹
I have the book from the same publisher of both sets of Schubert's impromtus and his moments musicaux and I recommend it highly. Every piece in there is so good. Lots of wonderful music to explore for a pianist playing at an intermediate level or above.
#Schubert I love and adore Schubert’s style of pieces. I have studied and learned some of Schubert’s works myself and from my understanding his pieces are about his own life, hopes and sufferings. This pieces isn’t flashy and extremely difficult compared to other famous composers works but is still very enjoyable to listen to.
#schubert This was the piece where I got stuck with our old Förster piano and my parents realised I needed a better instrument that could keep up with my fingers and eventually brought me to the conservatory. Sweet memories (and struggles) ☺️
#Schubert is a genius, his music is very moving even with few notes, melodies often very simple but very effective. He also is very unpredictable, I love to be surprised by the flow of his music!❤
#Schubert I love the emotions you can feel in his pieces. These lyrical sections are so touching. They are also really enjoyable without being too hard to learn.
#schubert I love schubert with his heartbreaking simplicity and the constant theme of “Sehnsucht” in his music- the longing and not feeling belonged anywhere. Especially a lied that touches me is the Taubenpost, his last song. Few weeks before his death, really sick, something so simply and optimistically expressive teaches me about life.
#Schubert I love how Schubert is able to combine beauty with simplicity on the piano. His impromptus are some of my favourite pieces of music, and I especially love this one and no. 1 from the op.142. My favourite recordings are by Zimerman (one of my favourite videos is the one where he plays Chopin and Schubert impromptus: ua-cam.com/video/MgmHetWIfPc/v-deo.html). Thank you for your videos!
#Schubert While I haven’t listened to much Schubert, I will say he creates some of the most pleasing Piano pieces I’ve heard to date. Such as his Fantasie In F Minor Op. 49, it’s just one of those pieces you can just sit down, close your eyes. And enjoy the sweet sounds of Schubert. Again I haven’t listened too much to his work, but I’m going to start listening to and learning more of his great music.
So beautiful Annique how you get in such a short time span the, like, delicacy Feingefühl of Schubert's atmosphere.. It's precisely for Schubert and Chopin's pieces what I'm striving for on the piano Well I'd say #Schubert is emotional , intense and Wehmut and Wien
Who is the real master of Schuberts sentimental details? Sir A. Schiff, a genius on his unique Bösendorfer piano. Our lady here is a wonderful player, just as Martin James Barlett. I hope she develops the articulations which Schiff applies.
Annique , thank you so much for the video!!! I’m so happy because you chose my favourite composer - Schubert. I love Schubert because of his absolutely melodic, lyrical and beautiful music! I’ve played his Drei Klavierstücke D. 946, 4 impromptus op.90 and impromptu in B flat major Op. 142. And also, this impromptu was especially hard to learn because of those repetitive notes in arpeggios. Thank you for your videos and this video especially! #Schubert
#Schubert. Roger Scruton said it best when he described Schubert as the musical poet of home and homelessness. Schnabel likened his music to a forest compared to the gardens of Mozart and mountaintop of Beethoven. For me Schubert is the composer of the wistfully neglected. It is the music of the hermit. His music is the visual equivalent of the desolate paintings of Caspar David Friedrich.
#Schubert Schubert to me is like Mozart but just in better. Hes just as talented but his works are so much more moving and (well obviously) romantic. His song cycles "winter-reise" is just master full and i love every single piece in there oh maaann. My absolute favorite is his Fantasie in F minor for 4 hands though, its scale and meaning are just incredible haha
#Schubert I really like his Overtures (especially D. 732), this impromptu is very very beautiful and his sonata number 16 in A minor D. 845 are my favorite works. It has a lot of expressiveness typical of romanticism. His style is unique😍
I played the second Impromptu from Op. 90 was amazing too especially the middle section. I‘d love to play Erlkönig someday but right now it‘s a little bit to difficult for me ;) That Challenge was great too
#Schubert I love the glittery sound of this piece with the great bassline. I have never played anything yet from Schubert as I only started playing the piano since this year. :)
I just say hello from Vienna, only a view thousand meters away where Schubert had his home. Schubert is still underestimated, I think. I‘m not a musician, but I have Schubert‘s music, especially his songs, always in my mind.
#Schubert I love Schubert's very distinct style. Especially I love this set of four impromptus, no.1 being my favourite (and also the most underrated of the four). I definitely want to learn all the impromptus.
#schubert - 😃 Schubert has honed his literary drive with a talent for lyricism making him accessible. We are drawn into his music sphere. He has wonderful melodies.
I played this pièce at thé âge of 14. I start playing piano again at 45, and when i wanted to play this pièce of Schubert, my fingers and my brain remendered all the pièce and how to play it. Amazing 😊😊😊
@@SCRIABINIST I think its hard enough. Sure the first page is rather easy, then there is the faster middle part and laste the pompous ending. Dont underestimate the rachmaninoff preludes. If you are looking for fast paced peaces I suggest the Rachmaninoff Prelude Op. 23 No. 5.
@@shinsoku9128 I would say Op.23 No.2 or Op.32 No.1 would be nice challenging ones. I've played the Op.3 No.2 before, I think it's more musically challenging then technically (ofc saying this with subjectivity)
#Schubert. Having bethoveen and Chopin as one of my favorites, schubert feels like a mix of both. I Iove the romantic feeling you can get despite it being quite structured.
#Schubert After 10+ years of piano I somehow haven't played a ton of Schubert. Definitely want to learn some more in the future! There's a certain warmth and richness (maybe these aren't the best words, idk) to his music that I just love.
I like how no matter how many times you've done this, you always get startled by the alarm 😂
It’s always funny how she gets angry at the timer 😂😂😂😂😂
Memorized this in high school. Now at 75 years old I started playing all of the op90 again

Currently working on Schubert’s Impromptus Op 90, No 3 in G-flat major. Amazing music.
This is beautiful! I've been working on this piece for quite some time, and even your 1 minute run through of the first few lines impressed me!
The progress that Annique makes in one hour and eleven minutes is what takes me 6 months of practice.
#Schubert I love the mood in this piece, it is not particularly sad or happy, and also gives me a feeling of someone being thoughtful.
#Schubert I find Schubert a fascinating and very enjoyable composer to listen to as, in my eyes, he represents a bridge between the classical and romantic eras and this is heard in his pieces. #Schubert. The trio part is amazing. Consider continuing the piece
#schubert The switches between minor and major that he does!

#Schubert love that he's from vienna
#Schubert we love his music, especially the Serenade.
Always a delightful moment in your company.
I can't play piano anymore because of a hand injury.. but I subbed to support other classical pianists :3
I feel you man i have it too
I just say hello from Vienna, only a view thousand meters away where Schubert had his home.
Amazing 😊😊😊
haha actually this was the first piece of schubert I played and it was so nice that I practiced the second one afterwards. I love his homey feeling
I Love the Impromptus of Schubert! I’m actually practicing op.142 no.4, op.90 no. 2 and 3 right now🎉
It's one of my favorite piece by Schubert I really love it
I don't know if you played it already but what do you think of Rachmaninoff prelude op 3 no. 2 as a new challenge? :)
Rachmaninoff Etude Tableau Op.39 No.1 could be a good one
I don't think it's hard enough to her for this 1 hour challenge
@@TheAskald The Prelude definitely isn't.
I played this piece last may in concert!!! how cool :) very good playing.
#Schubert After 10+ years of piano I somehow haven't played a ton of Schubert. Definitely want to learn some more in the future! There's a certain warmth and richness (maybe these aren't the best words, idk) to his music that I just love.
I have just performed this piece & it is very interesting to see your interpretation of certain parts 😍
