Can we all just acknowlege the low parry @19:05 and then the INSANE low - high block @19:20 in the 5th round of the 2nd set, during the 2nd Nina match!? Those two moments not only saved that set but completely turned the tide of the rest of the match! TMM was making adjustments the whole time but kept getting caught by that 1 string until that low - high block and my god was it beautiful! He was getting DESTROYED in that round btw, what a COMEBACK!!!
Heihachi already is tournament viable, I don't think there's a character that isn't in 8, even later in 7 there were Gigas players doing well in tournaments. A character not being top tier doesn't make them not viable for tournament play.
U/f+4 it’s called the wind slicer without heat is a mid homing that gets a guaranteed ff2… in heat still homing but can press 1 after and it wall splats very good move often underrated.
The cleanest thing imo is having a fast backdash, idk how the Russian Nina does the input but I think I have a fast BD but doing the input faster still doesn't make it look as clean as that Nina's

Personally I would say that Eddy's attacks are just as distinguishable it's just that in 8 there's more than 5/6 good moves, the same moves in 7 were just as hard to tell apart it's just no-one was using half of them because they sucked in 7

tekken characters have a design philosophy, they have one or two things they excel at and others that are intentionally left bad of course people who dont like the design will simply settle with "its bad, its good" instead of looking at the character and how it performs in regards to the rest of the game
Found out on accident in the lab one day that Hei has a gold spark d,f 1, 2. Don't remember the frames on block but it does a lot of damage in combos and as a standalone string. Incase anyone else ain't know 😉🤣
Have you had any trouble sidestepping with hachi? I am struggling more vs demon paws/drag wr2/lee ff3 e.t.c. Really hard to tell if its a character difference or I am just now slower with my movement.
I think so far the DLCs have felt very unique. Yes, they all have stances and a little power-up mechanic but they work differently enough to stand out. I also really like Eddy, but I don’t understand the need for his install. All it does is add a low option to handstand? Why is that necessary?
No they dont feel unique. Every dlc character has an install that can go up to 2 or 3, heihachi and lidia got installs, that gives them power ups, like warrior instinct, but you wanna go for eddy...

A low is deemed good or not based on its risk reward. For hei, his risk is being launched for a lot of damage, or hitting the low and going back to neutral meaning he cant keep up pressure

You can get better combos with eddy's install, for example FC df4 counter b4d, 3+4
