Great to hear such a 1920s style jazz band in modern guise. Love those horns and the addition of a tuba/Sousaphone is magical. Also nice to see a resonator guitar along with a banjo carrying the rhythm along. I haven't heard such an authentic sound for decades!! Thanks so much from our little island down in the south Pacific(New Zealand).
The first tune is "Alligator Crawl" First played by Fats Waller as piano piece and recorded by Louis Armstrong and his hot five. I love this tune so much. And yes Untrue Blues is always a highlight. Erika on vocals and brilliant accompanied by Jason at the guitar. Thank you so much for filming and sharing here with us.
Fats Waller composed "Alligator Crawl" but it was not until 1934 that he recorded it as a piano solo. Louis Armstrong recorded it in 1927 with his Hot Seven.
There is no such thing as "a bad Tuba Skinny song." Never!
