I have been listening to your work for about 8 months now. I wanted to take this opportunity to show my appreciation for your work. Extremely helpful, professional and reliable. I love how you summarize the dialogue between you and your guests at the end of the show, I appreciate your thoughtful comments during the talks and I love the overall authentic and sincere experience of the show. Thank you so much. I have a ton of respect for both you and Dr Hanson as well as for the impressive guests you host. You are benefiting all of humanity. Keep up the amazing work!

Forest, Ive been watching your videos for a few months now, and think you do an awesome job conveying information, leading discussion and have important topics. I love your dynamic with your dad. It gives me the warm fuzzies while helps me learn. It's a safe space to grow myself. Thank you for your hard work.

I am packing for a trip on an airplane. I haven't been further than across town in my car since 2020! I've been freaking out about whether to check both bags (poverty mentality). I re-wrote the script and read it out loud: I am someone who can afford and deserves the convenience. I did it! Thank you Dr. Leaf!

I am 44 years old and have been in active therapy since November of last year. We are working through severe CPTSD and have started EMDR therapy as well. I have only been listening to you for the last 6 months or so. I am so incredibly thankful that I took a chance on my mental health. I have 3 grown children and am expecting my 3rd grandchildren in a matter of weeks.
As I've been working through my own mental health I have become sort of this matriarch to our family. I actively talk about my progress. (My family and therapist know all about you and your dad!) 2 of my 3 children are also in therapy. My brother in law starts therapy next week. (This is the first time in his life that he has been willing). Anyhow, I can keep on rambling for hours! My question is this. How can I as a grandma, as an auntie, be the best advocate for mental awareness and growth for them? I am very active in their lives and know that I have a unique perspective from this viewpoint. We are beyond ready to break the cycle of abuse that my siblings and I have endured in our lives, and have already been working on it for a long time.
Last but not least, thank you so much for what you do. You are changing lives for the better. I hope you never question that.

I love Being Well and never miss an episode. This one was my first disappointment. Leaf's accent and speed of talking make her almost impossible to understand. Thank you, Forrest and Dr Rick, for translating! But why have Leaf on at all, when YOUR work in the area is so much better?

Agree completely! I’ve watched 100+ videos of Being Well & have never been unable to finish it. You can see both Rick & Forrest getting restless & unable to focus as Caroline is rambling SO fast with all her unnecessary jargon & odd analogies. Rick & Forrest’s speech pace is perfect for my brain to follow & remain regulated. Caroline’s frenetic pace, accent & high pitch speech, mannerisms & talking over Rick had me so emotionally dysregulated within a couple minutes that I had to come to the comments to see if it was just me!

I wanted to listen to this but am brain tired because of MS fatigue after inflammations in the brain. I'm sorry, but I really could not follow or listen to her more then maybe two minutes. My brain could not cope with the speed she was talkning in. I got a headache from it and lt was to much for me. That's my problem these days. I get exhausted very fast and even from normal things.

I also had a hard time listening, hearing, and understanding her words. She speaks fast and it’s hard for me to read her face.
Maybe it’s my own eyes and ears, but it was difficult to understand and process her words and concepts.

I don't know if this will help you, but you can actually go into the settings for the video and slow down the playback speed

@@kruuyaiI usually have speed slowed for audiobooks but can’t on UA-cam - .75x speed on here is too slow for most people’s speech & makes them sound drunk. 😂 I would personally have to keep switching back to 1x when Rick & Forrest speak, as their voices keep me engaged & regulated, even if I was dysregulated prior to watching their content.
