I ADORE my Knitter's Pride yarn winder!!! 💚💚💚 my original one was a splurge when life hit me the hardest, and it was a life changer. I lost it in a house fire last year, but a friend bought me a new one a couple months ago. 💚💚💚💚
@@alexcarrn28 If you press the link on his information box it will take you to Jimmy Beans where they selll many things and you can search for the winder. It is $147 and some cents 😳
I received one of these for my 60th Birthday a few years ago. I absolutely love it. I also ordered extra bands about a year ago to ensure I will have them on hand if the ones on the winder break or stretch out. If you like to wind your yarn, this is definitely worth the money. 🧶
I have this exact one and was great at first but I’ve now been having issues with one of the pieces that keeps coming loose and dropping the yarn while trying to wind. I’ve tried fixing and will fix but then it keeps happening 😭
Does yarn winding this way from a skein increase the twist? Is this just for winding from hanks? I really need to know because since Cheap Yarn often has uneven twist. I usually am increasing twist at intervals or going through nearly a whole skein increasing the twist beforehand, or caking or balling it beginning on my finger, I figured out a method of increasin' the twist as I go and it is completely dependent upon the direction of twist around my finger and which side of center I begin to wrap it once I have built the core up to support the shape of the cake and that fall apart as I begin to center pull. Even the fact that I pull from the center increases my twist. It's all subtle, and works together for a brilliant outcome... but I've had our threatage since a child and to broken elbows and torn rotator cuffs and that's a hell of a lot of work for somebody with carpal tunnel syndrome too! I'm thinking it might be time to get a tool or two for my handcrafts. I HATE splitty yarn!!! It doesn't hold up well, doesn't look good, it pills, it lints, it felts... It's hell trying to knit, Tunisian or crochet with it.
i need one of those things since i find winding yarn difficult (i have rheumatoid arthritis). wondering if the much cheaper plastic versions are the same

I think I'd rather have that kind verses the small plastic ones.

Dust is just a protective coating for furniture. 😉

I was able to find the electric ball winder from Boye at Resale store. It has saved my hand doing balls.

Is there a type of yarn winder that does the big one pound skeins that would be awesome or something that would work for that? Thanks!
I think so. It's pretty generous in sizing.
