    Just came back to this video. I appreciate the whole "don't judge people by the way they live" part. As someone who suffers from depression and can have a hard time maintaining my property, I found that a very respectful and mature way to address the situation. Thank you!

    I drilled two holes in the bottom of my trash carts so any water that got in it would drain out. That WAS one nasty mess. Thank you so much for cleaning it up. I take it the "metal guy" didn't want the metal?

    Amazing transformation! When I saw you cutting up those cages after finding the ammo, my thoughts immediately turned to dog fighting ring or something! What pigs those people were! When I got my house, my first year of trying to get the yard somewhat cleaned up, I was finding all kinds of garbage there. Some idiot tried to burn glass, cans, computer parts, etc. When I found the computer parts, I had the sheriff come by and determine if it was something they needed to know about or what. I wasn't about to toss it, if it was something important they might need to know about. They gave me the all clear to toss it. I didn't want the responsibility of that decision! For years I'd find socks just popping up in the yard. As I cleaned up my planting bed around my deck, I found a door knob, screwdriver, golf balls, other broken things, a serving fork buried way deep, and, the oddest thing: a pair of eyeglasses! That one had me a bit freaked out! I took the glasses to my eye doctor because they take them to fix up for some charity. So, while your cleanup was MUCH worse than mine, it certainly brought back some memories of my long-winded clean up! If I were that owner, I'd be plenty ticked off at the shape of that fence!! And, boy, this would be a great place to do some pressure washing, too!

    • @CopperCreekCuts

      @@CopperCreekCuts Thanks! It was so stupid and, frankly, suspicious where I found these burned parts in the yard. I wrestled with "wasting" their time on it, but I just wasn't comfortable tossing this stuff in case it might be tied to a crime of some sort. I mean, who tries to burn a computer??

    • @Bigcitygurl
      @Bigcitygurl Рік тому

      We had a very similar experience with a house/acreage we bought once in Oregon. We found a H U G E dump in the woods that was invisible until we got the tractor in and pulled out all the overgrowth. You've heard of everything and the kitchen sink? Yep. And every single pile of brush on the 5 acres had garbage under it, plus a pile of cat litter literally 2 feet up the side of one tree. And after being there about a year, an entire shirt surfaced in the back yard after a few heavy rains.

    • @Excitable67
      @Excitable67 Рік тому +2

      @@OHlookSHINYthing Wow! I feel a bit better about my yard after seeing that! My property is only a little larger than a quarter acre. I'm really glad I didn't have the kitty litter issue! It's been a while since I found any socks. They might all be found now. I've been here 10 years and I was finding socks for at least 6 of those years. The shirt would have really thrown me for a loop! I still still come across a stray golf ball or small toy or something. I'm not sure if they're just appearing from the Earth, or if the squirrels and raccoons are dragging them in!

    this is one of the main reasons why I got rid if both of my rental properties. people move in and trash the place, don't pay the rent, then you have to kick them out and you are left with alot of clean up and fix up after they are gone. they just hop from one place to the next untell they are kicked out of that place then on to the next. hate to say it but some people are just plain trashy and lazy and don't care about the way they live. Have been thinking about some of your comments. I think anyone tackling an overwhelmed place at this point earns honor. It is far from the groomed or overgrown places you normally do but in these years, a yard could have these problems from a hurricane, a tornado, a flood, and even things as lousy housemates, collapse from illness, job loss, death or the devastation of addictive drugs. So, many thanks for what you got cleaned-up and sorry some of it was outright hazardous. Still, this is an example for, "How do you clean an unusually messy yard?" and helpful to anyone finding one in need in their lives. Knowing your work standard, I'm already looking forward to a neat and clean final result. A good start for the next tenant. (I was eyeing the table you cut up but it had a fair amount of severe damage. Only a person with skills of Furniture Restoration could have tackled that, if they considered it overall worth the time. Cutting it up did make it easier to cart away.) Nice recovery and restart.

    Brad with you finding that gun ammunition, it makes me wonder if the tenants of that house were involved in illegal activities. With them burning a computer, gun ammunition & other things, it smells really fishy to me. What were they trying to hide that they didn't want others to find out about??? Possible crime scene??? If the yard looked that disgusting, I can only imagine what the inside of that house looked like. Hopefully the inside of the house wasn't damaged, or that disgusting, but we can only hope for the best. Those tenants who were living in that house sure don't care about anyone else's property. If that house would have belong to those tenants, it would probably be condemned within a short period of time if they would have owned that house. I sure feel sorry for the homeowners who have to deal with the repairs that will be needed to fix up that yard & house.
    I would really suggest that if ANYONE is a landlord & they're looking at renting out properties, to do a google search on the possible tenants & see what comes up on the internet about them. By doing a internet search on people before renting something out to someone, it can save a whole lot of headaches & money, by eliminating the bad apples from the list of possible tenants for their properties.
    Brad you did a fantabulous job of cleaning up that very disgusting yard. 🙂 ❤

      I didn't find the CV shaft until after I think, and he said the cages wouldn't be worth anything. Wrong type of metal or too rusted maybe? I didn't press him on why.

    As a landlord, renters can be so rude and selfish regarding property they are just lucky enough to be borrowing. I have never understood the thoughtlessness of some lowlifes. Thankfully, they are not the norm. You did a good thing. This is why I charge a huge deposit.

    I like videos like this. I find them soothing. On another note, do you get concerned if you’re making passes up and down a lawn and the grass clippings are thrown onto the neighbors yard in some instances such as this when you’re on the standup? Do people say anything to you normally? I guess you can’t help it sometimes but is it something you try to avoid?

    • @CopperCreekCuts
      @CopperCreekCuts  Рік тому +1

      You hit the nail on the head. I try to avoid it when I can, but lots of houses are so close it just isn't physically possible to keep all the grass off another person's lawn.

      I think I covered in the video, if the work was for the residents I wouldn't take it, but the owners of the rental property have done business with me multiple times before, I don't have any trust issues with them.

    I thought about protesting the death-by-chainsaw of the coffee table, until I remembered that that thing had been sitting outside for God only knows how long, and was likely rotted to hell and back. The way it started to shake itself to pieces from the vibrations of the first cut said it all: *not structurally sound.* And with all that varnish on it, you'd have to completely strip the pieces before you could even use them for firewood. Damn shame, but not your bad, man~
