  • In this video, we dive into why understanding range of motion is crucial when filing a VA disability claim or appeal for joint or spine conditions. Range of motion measures a joint's full movement potential and is pivotal in how the VA evaluates and rates musculoskeletal conditions. A VA examiner uses a goniometer during a C&P exam to assess both active and passive range of motion. The findings directly influence your VA disability rating, with more limited motion generally resulting in a higher rating.

Take it from someone who's been thru them every time was a different person and different measuring. It depends on whether the va wants you to have a rating from it or if they are planning on denying it

I went to a c&p exam for my ankle and hip. I thought I would get a passive examination, but instead, I was just asked questions about my hip and ankle. I am wondering if this was accepted by the VA and if it will affect my claim negatively?
