Whoever you are sir, and whatever mean people said in the comment, I thank you for your effort to bring into question about the US ban on military equipment to Indonesia. As an Indonesian, that means a lot to me.
too bad it didnt get to the next section, i am curious about the question. well a nice presentation, nice to see from a military man point of view. and i also agree with the F-16, but we got our C-130 from Australia, only 4 tough. i think the money for upgrading the F-16 will be a lot better for Fast Patrol Boat, both for the Navy and the Police (Water Unit).
It's amazing how we misused the word 'help' and 'business' when introducing American democracy to developing countries such as Indonesia..... Kapan negara ini benar-benar mandiri.
And BTW! WELL! That was an interesting theory of 1965 coup attempt. Completely different from both the Cornell Paper by Ben Andersen and official story by the New Order. I kinda don't want to believe that without concrete evidence, but I will somewhat consider that to be true considering you are a US military officer. Thank you sir.
He does not have the chronology right about the territorial system. I think he is confusing the Kodam with the Kopkamtib guys who showed up after 1965. They were not always the same General.
Democracy????? Amazing how history gets twisted to suit our sense of what's acceptable to justify US and Indonesia collusion to invade a Pacific country for its natural resources. The native Melanesians of West Papua never wanted to be colonised by Indonesia or exploited by Freeport-Mcmoran - yet Americans remain oblivious to what their corporations are doing to an ethnic group in the Pacific. Democracy is the big American joke! How about freeing Papua and leaving them to rebuild their economy their way. SHAME on the US Administration for decades of pretending to help while encouraging Indonesia's rule over West Papua and supporting its multinational corporations exploitation of West Papua's natural wealth. SICKENING.
