use to live in Kauai in da 70's it was truly paradise. Miss those special days of the small Hamura saimin and good old Club Jetties where I think the whole island danced and listened to music. And Princeville was Taylors camp. No hotels .
Hi, Steven! This is one of my favorite songs, and I have this one learned by heart. Somewhere back when, I found a version where you change keys to sing it the second time - at the end of the first time, you go to D7 and then repeat the song in key of G. I like when the songs change keys, It gives them a little more depth. :-)
Thank you so much, I have this book and if I ask Alexa to play one of these songs and if you do not speak Hawaiian and do not pronounce it exactly right she will take you to a podcast really enjoying this.
Mahalo nui Steve. One request, please do a whole episode on closed chord vamps (with diagrams). I look forward to all you videos. But take your time and get that album out!
Great suggestion! I may have my friend Bryan Tolentino as a guest artist on that episode…he’s a MASTER at those closed position vamps! I have a ton of ideas for vids to expand the channel including some great panel discussions…stay tuned!!
