I’m a 13 hcp, I’d been shooting 80-85 for weeks leading up to my first tournament. At my tournament I shot a 96, and a 100 hahaha. I know how you feel. I really like the tournament videos, I hope you compete more. Keep it up bro!
Keep grinding, my man. Appreciate your humility and your insistence on giving this game the respect it deserves. Also, nice job closing the round with those three pars!
I love your videos Adam, I was a 40 handicap 6 months ago, but thanks to your advice I am now a 15 handicap (with an ugly swing), keep up the great work!
Your channel is great to watch and I tell people about it frequently at the course. Watching and hearing you has definitely helped my pursuit of controlling my mental game. Good stuff.
I'm so nervous as a 12 handicap about qualifying today for the Southern Oregon tournament and this video helped me with perspective. Tourney golf is a different beast! Thanks for sharing the hard stuff.
I can feel this round in my bones. Early August I carded my two career rounds at 77. This past week I’ve just barely squeaked to sub 90 on a few rounds. Golf is a rollercoaster
Thanks for sharing Adam. Competition golf is a different animal. I carded a net even par round in a group competition last weekend which was my best all year. And that’s after nearly derailing the entire round on the front 9. Golf is a grind and it’s why we all love this game. Keep posting videos and sharing your journey.
Thanks for keeping it real here Adam. Better luck next time! Golf is so up and down...you just never know when your next under-par round will arrive! Hang in there while you work through it.
"I never saw that golf ball. Anyone else?" Is not something I want to have to say on the first tee. My game looks like yours which is why I like your channel. I can shoot 77 or 93. Golf is hard...
You missed the cut by 3!!! That’s amazing it clearly was a rough day or two for everyone you were so close🎉 nice work. You are totally right tournament golf is different
I love your videos and I feel for you at this tourney. Get that body language tuned up! Find one good thing whilst walking from shot to shot to keep you out of the golf and into the game.
Keep your head up. Tourney Golf is a different animal. I played in the club championship at Industry Hills in 2002. I was a 6 Hdp. Tried a hero shot and ended up hitting a tree root on 9. I ripped up my shoulder. I started to play again 21 years later. 4 Months in and I am striking the ball. There is hope and even after a very long layoff I better accept the good and the bad. Go get them next time.
One thing I noticed in this video, is that a good amount of the "bad shots" weren't bad, but rather the course management was poor, and you kept missing in the wrong spots. In my opinion a bad shot is when you blade one out of the bunker or chunk it short of the green, having solid contact and just missing it wrong isn't bad shot, but bad prep or vision. Just my 2 cents, love the content and honesty as always!
I think this speaks to the difference between a bad swing and a bad shot. A bad swing is a duff or shank or chunk or whatever, where the result is going to be poor because of the swing or contact itself. A bad shot could be a fantastic strike and great swing, but aimed at the wrong spot still means it's a bad shot (pros would likely agree). This is why planning to miss in the right spot and missing there due to a bad swing is a "good shot" while going pin hunting and making a fantastic swing that finds the bunker because you misjudged the uphill is a "bad shot" in relative terms.
Some tough holes on this course! Even during a tough round, you always keep your attitude from spiraling into negativity. I find your approach inspirational and can learn much from you.
Adam: golf is the most alluring mistress but also the most cruel. Some days the swing is just not there. You did a brilliant job of not totally flipping out and finished strong. Tournament golf is a different animal.
had a similar occasion myself where im consistently in the low 80s then as soon as i enter a tournament it all goes to pot...its obviously some kind of anxiety where we overthinks things...it makes sense as to why i play so much better on my own
Thanks for sharing. Tournament golf is hard. I've found that even though trying to "take my medicine" when in recovery positions, like yourself, it seems that if it weren't for bad luck and have no luck at all. I only play club champs, the this year was the first time in 4 (x2) attempts that I have played anywhere near my handicap. Thanks for sharing.. you'll get there.
Had our club championship and I was doing great in the practice round. Then the real round came and played bad. Day 2 was even worse. Definitely agree that tournament golf is another animal.
Just played my first tournament this weekend as a 6.5. Was hoping to shoot 82 at worst and shot an 85 in back to back days. Started with a quad day 1 and ended with a double, double, bogey. Went into the 2nd day 7 over going into 17. I’ve never had so many pars and birdies surrounded with big numbers. Tournament nerves were real.
16 at Kings Links might challenge for toughest par 4 in my books. That hole is a par 5 with the wind most days. But I guess that’s Metro Van. Not just Vancouver.
That was like most of my rounds of golf, but your recovery is 10 times better than mine. Me drive into trees, punch out, 3rd shot shank, 4th shot off green, 5th shot thin the chip, and 3 putt.
IMHO golf is crazy mental. Saturday played at a crazy nice course that I didn't deserve to play on and was so tight/ nervous which lead to a TERRIBLE round. Next day at a nice course but not like the day prior played way looser and shaved 14 strokes off. Weird how that works. Same crappy swing, different results.
I regularly hear on a few podcasts that tournament golf is a whole different beast by compare to regular golf. Do you believe that true, or were these just those tough rounds that we all experience from time to time?
Was that a microphone on your hat. It looked weird. Almost like a POV go pro. I had a shank filled round on the weekend Capped it by hitting a bad shot that hit a players bag as he stood to the side. Cant imagine doing that in a tournament
Some days you’re the dog, and some days you’re the hydrant. Even for pro’s it’s a continual evolution. From 6200 yards I shot 74 on Sunday, same yardage on Monday I shot 84. 🤷🏽♂️
Tournaments aren’t the same.. By the way Adam, have you been to the LPGA Vancouver tournament? It’s always inspiring to watch the best female golfer play. Swing speed (almost) like us average males golfer but the impact, my god, not the same at all!😅
Maybe change the name of the channel to "Not a tournament golfer".Just kidding. Tournament golf is very hard at any level, especially when you don't do it very often. Even playing a fun scramble charity tournament can bring out the nerves when you least want them. You just never know until you test yourself.

2:56 We’ve all had to have this chat with ourselves at some point, right!?
HAHAHAHAH. This started off sad, but turned hilarious. Good on ya posting this bud. LOLOL!! Sorry, but I can relate.
Those greens looked tough. Keeping your composure certainly helps.
Keep grinding, my man. Appreciate your humility and your insistence on giving this game the respect it deserves. Also, nice job closing the round with those three pars!

love the real golf we can all relate. looking forward to you bouncing back from this

Love me some Oregon golf...Go South Eugene Axemen!

Duck voice actor putting in OT on this video 😂
I feel like that putt on 6 was a huge momentum shift. Mental game is real

def enjoying the competitive golf.. keep up the hard work

I was laughing out loud watching this... the duck sound is perfect! It's the soundtrack to my game. Thanks for your great videos!

You didn’t play again for 21 years!? Eeeish. 😬
Great video!
Thanks Adam. What a tough course 😢Well played on the back 9 😊
great video...as usual
Golf HC is a possible expectation ... "generally" add 4 strokes to that HC.
Congrats Adam you are human !!! Love the channel.
Thanks for posting. It was lots of fun to watch. I didn't have a good tournament, either. Looking forward to the next one.
I'd say you kept it together pretty well. If I had those back bounces, I would have completely given up after 4 holes.
That must have been really tough round to finish off. I've been there before, all I wanted to do was walk off the course. Keep grinding!
Tournament golf is boom or bust. You went and tried. That in itself is a win.
One thing I noticed in this video, is that a good amount of the "bad shots" weren't bad, but rather the course management was poor, and you kept missing in the wrong spots. Not you’re best golf, but way to keep grinding until the end. Great video like always.
Some tough holes on this course! Even during a tough round, you always keep your attitude from spiraling into negativity. I find your approach inspirational and can learn much from you.

Looks better than my game now, you’ll get through it Adam .
had a similar occasion myself where im consistently in the low 80s then as soon as i enter a tournament it all goes to pot...its obviously some kind of anxiety where we overthinks things...it makes sense as to why i play so much better on my own
A rules official ribbing me while I'm having a bad round would have sent me into a rage.
Thanks for sharing. Tournament golf is hard. I've found that even though trying to "take my medicine" when in recovery positions, like yourself, it seems that if it weren't for bad luck and have no luck at all.

You should do a maritimes trip
Get in cabbot cliffs, cabot links, highland links and fox harb’r in Nova Scotia.
Crowbush and a few others in PEI.
Really fun watching you! What do you use to edit videos
Putting at Langara can be so frustrating 😂
Just played my first tournament this weekend as a 6.5. Was hoping to shoot 82 at worst and shot an 85 in back to back days. Started with a quad day 1 and ended with a double, double, bogey. Doesn't look like swing tweaks is working very well lol.. we all have had bad rounds tho, head up champ
I would like to see a WITB Adam keep grinding brother

On hole 16 I was thinking wow he's avoided the bunkers all day, and the very next shot goes in the bunker. What a great shot out anyway.
playing tournies is not easy. The more you play them they more relaxed you feel
Maybe fatigue? Tracking my sleep and recovery with a whoop has helped me.
That's rough. It looks like a tough course...I played 3 tournaments this year for the first time ever. I shot 10-15 over my handicap in all of them.
what ae those Nike shoes you're wearing?
I regularly hear on a few podcasts that tournament golf is a whole different beast by compare to regular golf. Do you believe that true, or were these just those tough rounds that we all experience from time to time?
What irons r u playing they look different
I counted only 25 putts in this round. That's impressive.
Any chance the dealio (microphone?) on your hat bill is a problem? I can’t say I’ve ever noticed you wearing that there before…
Starting on #10 at McCleery didnt exactly help you out here. I like the front 9 (maybe because it's easier) but hate the back 9 there.
Was that a microphone on your hat.
It looked weird. Almost like a POV go pro.
I had a shank filled round on the weekend
Capped it by hitting a bad shot that hit a players bag as he stood to the side.
Cant imagine doing that in a tournament
here's to hope day 2 went better!
Can I ask why tournament golf is so difficult. Is it pure nerves? Stupid question I know sorry
Some days you’re the dog, and some days you’re the hydrant. Even for pro’s it’s a continual evolution. From 6200 yards I shot 74 on Sunday, same yardage on Monday I shot 84. 🤷🏽♂️
Glad that swing tweaks is working 😂
That course looks kinda scruffy. And tight.
Something about the editing of the newer videos feels a little rushed
Torturous, def nerves, def
Tournaments aren’t the same.. By the way Adam, have you been to the LPGA Vancouver tournament? It’s always inspiring to watch the best female golfer play. Swing speed (almost) like us average males golfer but the impact, my god, not the same at all!😅
you need to follow through on your swings
Maybe change the name of the channel to "Not a tournament golfer".Just kidding. Tournament golf is very hard at any level, especially when you don't do it very often. Even playing a fun scramble charity tournament can bring out the nerves when you least want them. You just never know until you test yourself.
Pls pin I love u
You're a natural hook. Why do you aim straight?
Bro shorten your swing stop taking it back past your hip you'll be shooting under par
Unlucky man...
