Lyrics:
Well, honey, I love you too much
I need your lovin' too much
Want the thrill of your touch
Well, gee, I can't love you too much
You do all the livin' while I do all the givin'
'Cause I love you too much

The older I get the more I realize how amazing Elvis was. I can see why the Beatles idolized him.
somewhere i read or heard, when Elvis passed on in 77, Bob Dylan wouldn't speak a word for weeks.
They did in Elvis' early career. Buddy Holly was their main fluence though. Elvis was just the first artist that sparked their interest in Rock 'n' Roll.
The Beatles? Hell, the whole world idolized him. In every nation today they still have Elvis impersonators. But the Beatles. Yeah that's pretty cool too
@@jennapornographyjame Even Buddy Holly idolized Elvis.
Greatest cultural icon of the 20th CENTURY
My son's name is Elvis Aaron too.
I'm big Elvis' fan
Too much.
From Venezuela.
Well...
The guitar work is jaw dropping for its time.
It was actually a mistake, he got lost but it was so good they left it in.
Lol
Certainly if you factor in the fact what the great, late Scotty Moore used to record it with. A Gibson L-5 with twin P-90's into a custom built Ray Butts amp with built in tape echo.
nyoobserver.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/sm-and-elvis-live-3.jpg?quality=80&w=600&h=600
And let's not forget what those big arch top Gibsons were strung with: heavy gauge flatwound strings, there's no bending those buggers to save your life.
Scotty said that he "could never repeat that break" ! So much so that he gave up during rehearsals on The Ed Sullivan show so on the actual TV broadcast he played only the first part of the break ;-)
@@thomastimlin1724 Best mistake ever, then.
Nothing better than turning this up full blast. One of his earliest best. It is just too much.
I see what you did there.👋
That’s a good one 👉👉
Not his earliest. This was from Elvis' second period of hit records (1960). Elvis had three major strings of hits in the years 1955-1958, 1960-1963, and then 1968-1972.
Scotty said the guitar solo was so free he could never repeat it, no joke.
Elvis always said it doesn't have to sound right it has to feel right
Elvis rocks. The guitar solo is just brilliant.
The whole thing smokes. Not only the guitar solo but DJ just tears those drums up!
Scotty Moore!
Apparently the guitar solo was done by accident but Elvis kept it
Scotty failed this solo. Elvis knew Scotty failed it and kept it to make Scotty feel ashamed.
@@i-am-mo I don’t agree that it was done to “shame” Scotty.
I believe that Scotty was attempting to “search” for the key/chord/right notes, and got lost for a couple measures, eventually finding his way. This unplanned manic-moment actually personified the exact “too much” sentiment of the song, and Elvis realized this- Scotty played “too much” over the solo section…
Scotty's guitar solo #1 hands down!
We did several takes, but on this particular one, I just got lost. I just kept chunking away. I didn’t make any mistakes, but it wasn’t the same solo I played on the other takes. Somehow I came out of it exactly where I was supposed to be.”
When the song was over, Elvis called for a playback. As he listened, he looked at Scotty with a grin. “He knew I had gotten lost, but he loved the way it turned out,” said Scotty. “When the song ended, he raised up and said, ‘That’s it,’ and he did it for damned meanness. He knew I had gotten lost and he knew damned well I would have to live with it.”
Scotty' s too much !
I read that Keith Richards wanted to be like Scotty Moore and not Elvis.. he and Scotty became good friends
No person ever sang with more raw emotion than Elvis Presley, THE KING.
The guy had everything. Yet he couldn't find what he was looking for.
..and with more sexappeal
Such an underrated song
As a metalhead I can't help but appreciate how innovative this song was for rock n roll. Intentional or not that guitar solo was years ahead of its time.
Blackmore está totalmente de acuerdo!
I may be misremembering, but I think this take was kept by Elvis, because he knew Scotty Moore got lost on that solo and Elvis knew he'd never be able to recreate it. Sort of a poke to a man he thought of as an older brother for a few years here. I think Scotty said that in his book "That's All RIght Elvis"
I am a huge Elvis fan and yet I forgot all about this song. Wish he had done this in concert in the 70’s. Would have really brought some energy into the later concerts
Yeah, don’t understand that, he had hundreds of songs, audience would have loved to hear this, instead he went with boring routine more for him then us. These songs were sweet, memory lane
This can qualify as one of his more artistic songs. It is not just an in-crowd theme and describes too many gold-diggers and swingers who got men from beauty.
I love Elvis too much
Local Dreamer me too!😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
This is one of my favorite songs by Elvis 💗💗
Hello Amanda
I love this song *Too Much*
one of the best rock and roll recording by any artist!!
Great to know young people love Elvis. Go Dave.
Hello Kathleen
Elvis forever
In the 1971 radio documentary, The Elvis Presley Story, Scotty recalled how it [the guitar solo] came about:
“I don’t remember now exactly what I had nailed down for the solo instrumental part. It was in an odd key … well, for most guitar players, I would say. When my instrumental part came, I absolutely just got lost. I didn’t know where I was at. But from the experience we had already gained in these months behind us, in playing on stage, you go ahead, you just keep on going, and this is what I did. And this was the take that was released.”
In his 1997 book, That’s Alright, Elvis, Scotty again described his guitar solo, this time attributing spitefulness to Elvis in his decision to use that particular take: “We did several takes, but on this particular one, I just got lost.
I've had this lovely song on repeat for a few days just because I can't get enough. Elvis forever! Always a fan and always will be
Doesn't it just kick butt? It just stomps you.

Jessa Jessa, so so silly, but fun is fun, thx , love all, big

The King at the height of his RCA fifties output, backed up here by the illustrious combo of Scotty Moore, Bill Black, and D. J. Fontana, and supported by the omnipresent Jordanaires. 60 years ago this week, “Too Much” was the number one song in the US, partially on the strength of a live debut performance of the single on the Ed Sullivan Show. Duane Allman once said that Scotty Moore’s lead guitar work on this tune is what actually motivated him to begin to learn how to play. Legendary rock critic Lester Bangs later on commented that Moore singlehandedly invented hard rock/heavy metal guitar work on this song. I can easily buy into that premise.
apparently Elvis kept changing the key which led to Scotty getting a bit lost when playing the scale Elvis finally sang in hence the 'jazz' notes.
Scotty Moore singlehandedly invented hard rock/heavy metal guitar work right here with this song! Thanks for 60 years of rock and roll Scotty!
+Williwo Man of course, it is political correctness speaking thru the music
+jimmy page Oh pipe down, black people created this genre and people like Elvis just piggy-backed it to success.
why dont you take a long walk on a short pier?
jimmy page Can you not counter me with reason and eloquent arguing rather than suicide requests?
you wouldn ot understand
We will miss u elvis and Scott (his guitarist)

You're gone
Don't you know you're treating
Your daddy wrong
Now you got me started
Don't you leave me broken hearted
'Cause I love you
Too much
I need your loving
All the time
Need your hugging
Meeting mine
Need you near me
Stay real close
Please, please hear me
You're the most
Now you've got me started
Don't you leave me broken hearted
'Cause I love you
Too much
🎸🎸
Every time I kiss your
Sweet lips

Your charms
Take me back, baby
In your arms
Like to hear you sighing
Even though I know you're lying
'Cause I love you
Too much
I need your loving
All the time
Need your hugging
Meeting mine
Need you near me
Stay real close
Please, please hear me
You're the most
Now you've got me started
Don't you leave me broken hearted
'Cause I love you

So I went from Vocaloid to Of Mice & Men to Elvis Presely.

RIP Elvis, I will always love you.😘😘😘😭😭😭
As a 10 year old in 1957...first E record I ever heard...it didn't "grab' me until about a year or two later..and by then I was hooked...now I sing about 40 of his songs (not "an impersonator") but it's fun kinda "sounding Elvis" on this one. Never thought of performing this until TODAY...adding this on!
I'm a Elvis Presley fan forever.
There will NEVER be another artist like The King!
Elvis makes me happy 😊

Awesome Singer. (r.i.p. E.)
Love you too much Elvis you're the Best
Thanks for the music of King Elvis Presley 😍😍😍
This is my favorite Elvis song🥰
KING
L♡VE THIS SONG 🕺❤
I always think of this as one of his less-remembered #1 hits. Yet somehow this (fewer #1 weeks AND chart weeks) was in Billboard's top 10 for the year 1957, and Teddy Bear wasn't (and didn't bridge other years).
Элвис ты просто захватчик сердец! Один раз тебя послушаешь и все- ты в плену и голоса и необыкновенной харизмы. Элвис мы тебя любим и помним!!!
#LOVEELVISPRESLEY❤
Elvis para mí es el hombre más guapo de la historia
Wow!!
Great song and performance. Nothing so clever today.
I been loving Elvis since I was 6 yrs old
Iove this song 😃❤❣
Elvis best ever
In the fourth verse at 2:00 I swear I always thought he sang: "I like to hear you sigh and heave"
