What makes me so mad is that almost all of the walmarts near me have completely removed all of the MOTU stuff from the toy aisle, so Mattel continues to give them exclusives but yet so many of their stores have completely dropped that toyline. I feel like if they are going to be given "exclusives" they should have to carry the actual line from the company
You have a very understandable list. My WWE Mattel complaints goes as follows: 5. Distribution (same kind of problems you mentioned) 4. No hula hoop waist (I don't understand why Mattel can't add this to at least the Ultimate line) 3. Toe articulation on Ultimates (I don't like this feature they get loose over time and make it hard for the figures to stand) 2. Bad face sculpts (Some specific wtestlers they can't seem to get remotely close to the actual guy/gal) 1A. Elite and Ultimate ankles (the ankles on these figures are laughable, it looks like all the wrestlers have prosthetic feet) 1B. Neck articulation ( I need my WWE figure to be able to look up. Nothing worse than putting the Undertaker in his famous pin where he crosses his opponents hands over their chest and then he whips that hair back and sticks his tongue out with eyes rolled back in his head. But we can't because there's not enough neck articulation. All this said I absolutely love Mattel WWE figures. The Legeds line is one of my all-time favorite toy lines. I believe some of these issues are being addressed. Love your channel. Ohhhh yeah!
Good video and list. I hate it when action figures heads are loose and wobble. Also paint scuffs on the figures as you take them out the packaging. You're being honest bro. Much respect.
My top 5: 1. The hip joints being way too tight 2. Bad body part selection on Ultimates (mostly torsos being too jacked, or in Razor/Halls, case too small) 3. Pinless knees too tight. 4. Missing deco on figures (like HBKs chest hair on certain figures) 5. Library of double jointed arms is too small.
My top 5 in a particular order: 1. A headsculpt that is too big on a figure. Prime example, Shane McMahon figures of him from the Attitude Era. Even Shamrock’s head is a little big on his figures. 2. Improper prints on head scans. I hate ordering a figure and as it arrives, the printed eyes aren’t properly centered due to a QA issue. 3. Certain modern figures not being released with TrueFX. Come on bro, it is 2024! 4. Not enough skin color variants. Mattel has some variants and they recently improved on this with certain stars such as Hogan and Warrior. However, there are other tan wrestlers such as Austin, HHH, etc. that still have the default pale skin tone that majority of figures have. I can see this being a major improvement with Mattel over the years to come. 5. Under delivery of accessories sucks. Prime example, the MNW line. I get it, they come with the BAF parts, but still. Regardless of these issues, I love Mattel’s action figures. These are the only modern action figures that I collect, regardless that I was a massive collector of many other things as a kid. When I look at action figures of today such as DC figures by McFarlane, Star Wars by Hasbro, Marvel figures, etc., nothing touches the quality of action figures that Mattel produces. I think these are the greatest quality action figures in the industry. I initially collected WWF/WWE Jakks figures from early 2000 until late 2003. I’m sorry to the Jakks Ruthless fans, however I wasn’t a big fan of those figures and that resulted in me discontinuing my collection until 18/19 years later. I cannot imagine how the 11 year old me would react to seeing what WWE figures are like nowadays. Thats why I got back into collecting, I was so blown away by what Mattel is doing. And holy shit, I have so many more figures now than I had as a kid and my Jakks collection was massive.
Honestly one of the things that absolutely makes me lose it is the rerelease’s (greatest hits, from the vault line) with the no updated FX face scan it’s like I don’t want no cartoony old school head scan. It’s unacceptable at this point but it continues to happen.
You pretty much nailed it. Personally my 2 biggest complaints is the legs and the bobble heads. I picked up 2 highly anticipated figures for myself in the last few months and both of them had issues. One being the MNWs Bret Hart ultimate. The knees on that figure feel like they’re going to snap because they’re so tight. And after literally 3 plus months of hunting, I FINALLY found the newest ultimate edition Cody and his left leg has that bounce back and the legs aren’t even lined up right. It’s like when you look at the holes in the crotch instead of the legs being straight across they’re slightly off from one another. Super annoying.
Another Great video. I love collecting mattel elites but it is so frustrating when the hip joint is so tight that its breaks. I've had it a couple of times now. I think mattel need to listen to its customers as with out us where would they be. They make so many great figures its a shame a few issues let them down
My biggest complaint has to be the ankle joints. I have so many Mattel’s that just fall over even on the GREAT ringside collectibles stands. My ultimate yoko is constantly falling over. I’ve used museum wax on it, heated up the foot so the peg would go in but that thing is always falling over (which is another problem). I haven’t used the trusty pledge floor cleaner but that’s my only hope other than super gluing that ankle joint in place
I don't find these as negative, I find them to be constructive. You don't show malice at all, and it is in the name of them getting better (if they want to act upon your comments). The things you mentioned cause more negativity to me than any video could.
I have been collecting the WWE Mattel line since the very beginning and without glazing too much I believe that Mattel is the best toy company today. I can't express how much I love the WWE Mattel line. It's worth mentioning that some of the issues, like the bounce back leg and bobble head issues, are not new and have been seen in older elites and basics. The leg bounce back issues typically occur when the figures are not on ball joints and use a different joint, sometimes referred to as "ratchet." Despite some gripes I have with certain body choices, my love for this line outweighs any negativity.
💯 agreed I had that problem on the Dingo Warrior figure when you put on the ultimate Warrior face paint head he has that giraffe neck 🤦🏾♂️ & stop releasing the ultimate warrior figures in the same attire over and over he should have new attire each release not every other release like Hogan. Guess you can tell I'm an ultimate Warrior fan 💪 😆
One of the issues I have with Mattel Elites line is the inaccuracy of feet sizes. How can tall wrestlers have smaller feet that shorter wrestlers. It doesn't look right. Like the Diesel figure having smaller feet than Shawn Michaels. Hopefully they fix it in the future.
The only issues I have is staining from the top 5 list, that's an issue. Another is sizing e.g. IRS got shrunk down. Another could be re-releasing same attires especially with the main event series, Warrior and Bret remade (not exactly the same) but could of been a completely different attire

My number 1 issue is with Mattel comes from a contract perspective. I hate the fact that they can only do the wrestlers that the WWE tells them they can produce. I wish it was like JAKKS and Mattel can go to wrestlers who don't have legends deals and sign them to say an independent contract. That would expand the roster greatly. They are making WWE money, it's one of the biggest toy lines in the world why not expand the talent that people are craving in the line. I'd love for them the renegotiate that clause in the contract. It would be amazing to see who Steve and Bill could get if they had the power like Jeremy had when he was with JAKKS. I mean come on we got a Tank Abbott classic superstars and he never worked for the WWE.
Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Kyle complained about not getting the Black Label and Coliseum Collection sent him a set of Ted/Ricky black label. Lets hope this positive feedback video is seen by Mattel. Kyle a man of the WWE Collectors!!
I think we can all agree about the distribution problems. I totally enjoy the hunt it just feels like the hunt isn’t always worth it in the end. Very unpredictable but when you hit man it feels good 😂
I agree with all of the cosmetic & functionality issues with Mattel, but the distribution issues are having a negative effect all around. Almost Everything is like a Chase at Walmart & Target. The WM in my area is just getting Monday Night Wars 3 barely. At least Target has been getting in some Legends, but they dropped the ball on Elite GH. I agree with Creations selling exclusives after a set period at brick & mortar 💪🏽👑

If you're gonna go the cheap route lower your prices. Makes no sense if it's lower quality to charge the same price.
My top 5 would be warped legs, Arms once you move them they become loose, scales like Mark Henry is too small, Otis is too tall, Hogan smaller than Otis, like you said wobbly heads. Finally figures that lean forward
My problem with distribution is international. We don't have the option in Canada to go to Target. Walmart Canada (according to Steve Ozer) declined the Monday Night Wars line. There needs to be an international distributor other than the secondary market where we're paying, with inflated ebay prices plus shipping (and sometimes customs), $65 for one elite figure. That kind of thing makes a fun hobby for you a very extra expensive and frustrating hobby for us.
For a UK fan not getting all the figures like Bruno from 110 had to order that online which was imported, ringside exclusives and the horrible head scans on some and bumps marks and stiff joints

Yeah, the distribution thing with Wal-Mart etc. sucks, but I get it. That is why I miss Toys R Us. They were always loaded with figures, so much so you had to pick/choose and narrow down the herd and contemplate which ones you REALLY wanted. But....they specialized in just toys, so that makes sense. Which is also why they are out of business! Toys don't sell like they used to. You would think with more adults buying toys they would. But kids don't collect toys like we did in the 80s it seems. I had to have EVERY GI Joe or wrestling figure as a kid or I would lose my mind lol !
Do you like the drop down hips? I am not a fan. Before the figures hips were just fine, sturdy. Figures were able to do the boot to face. No they weren't able to do the splits but do people actually play or pose/leave their figures doing the splits?

Glad you pointed that out about Warrior! I am not a fan of the recent Warrior head scans. The Ultimate Ultimate Warrior mostly.

Height scale and head scale to be are the most annoying ongoing issues.

Hard part with the distributor that’s not Mattel’s fault stores are just choosing not to carry the line. Mattel wants everybody to carry the line

The Ultimates do. They aren't good butterfly joints, barely move inward at all, but they are there.
My gripe is loose feet (ex. Rock and Sock Connection Mankind). Wide spread arms (ex. Legends 17 Ken Shamrock).

I just got the mnw ultimate warrior yesterday, and you just need to push the head down. It is harder than usual though.
