Young mom of hospitalized baby gets a big Christmas gift from an anonymous Secret Santa

The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local Secret Santa give $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season. Every day, from now until Christmas, we will post videos of the recipients being surprised with these life-changing gifts.
Madison, Scott and their sweet family have been through so much this last year. Their baby was born at 35 weeks and when she was two weeks old, she woke up in the middle of the night projectile vomiting.
Maddy and Scott rushed her to the hospital and learned she had a brain bleed so she was airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. Doctors discovered she had a birth defect which caused her to have a stroke on the right side of her brain which resulted in a brain bleed on both sides of her brain.
The baby spent three months at Primary Children's before returning home. A few months later, she started to develop extra fluid on her brain. She had to go back to Primary Children's to have a shunt put in her brain.
She was transported again by ambulance recently weeks ago because she has developed new seizures called infantile spasms.
Madison has been having to go back and forth to the hospital almost every week. She often takes the bus or gets rides because their vehicles are not reliable.
Their sweet baby continues to fight for her life and spent another few days at EIRMC with RSV just this week.
Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News team if we could pay Maddy a visit and drop off an early Christmas gift. Check out the video in the player above!

They could go to a medical appointments because they couldn't afford it -- what a nightmare for two young parents trying to do the best they can in the world with two little humans. As a mother who has also had a child with major medical issues... knowing the heart tug of having a child in the hospital... the GIFT of caring... and doing something to ease the journey of other parents who also have this journey... not only made me cry tears of joy... but of gratitude.

You could see the relief come over her. The family is already stressed over the babies illness and money is tight, their vehicle is breaking down, all of that combined can be overwhelming. I adopt a family every year for Christmas and have done so for about 15 years but no where near this level, but if I am ever in a position to help out on a higher level, I will do so. Pay it forward people. It is easier to help than it is to hate. Prayers for this family and that precious baby.

This one out of ALL I've seen over the years was the most emotional one so far. I couldn't stop the tears from the very beginning. This young mom (and dad) were completely overwhelmed and SO appreciative. I love Secret Santa and Nate with his Elf crew.

After hearing Mom talk about her baby and all that she's been thru in just mere months of life - holy cow, I can't ever consider even allowing myself to think I am (C-PTSD/Chronic Pain) going to have a bad day ever again. Instead, I just need to fight like hell to shake it off and conquer the day by overcoming any obstacles! If a just months old baby can successfully do it, the rest of us having a bad day or days can remember to be more cognizant of the fact that there always someone having a muh more difficult day that us. That little girl is powerhouse of inspiration! Secret Santa you must be built different in order for your chest to house that HUGE ❤️ of yours !

I have been watching these videos practically nonstop since the first one came across my feed. This young couple, Maddie and Scott have more on their plate right now, than most get in their whole adult lives. Having dependable transportation, gas money, and groceries will ease their stress and let them focus completely on their son and little daughter. Hopefully, she’ll be home soon. Just know, people all over the world are watching this video and are thinking of you guys.
I hope the residents of eastern Idaho know how lucky they are to have a real life Santa living in their community.

My son & his wife had 2special needs kids (one born after the geneticists assured them their second child had a 95% chance of being normal). It rocked their world for the last 26 years. We knew primary children’s hospital well. We lost our grandson but our granddaughter just turned 25. I feel this woman and her trial in my soul. I’m sure she and her husband will pay it forward because of what she is going through. Secret Santa this is a special one to my heart. We’ve been there, done that and we wouldn’t trade our grandchildren for healthy ones. Bless you Madison and Scott. May you be rewarded with happiness and health. Hi im the madison from this video! What a crazy year we had my baby girl is doing so good and completely crushing it! She just started crawling a few weeks ago. She used her pediatric walker for the first time and it was the vutest thing ever. She has the most contagious laugh and smile. I will forever be grateful for what Secret santa gave us last year. Oh my gosh I love her. THIS truly changes lives! I'm a single mom with a chronically ill son, and we were given a new car by our radio station! Our old car had no heat among many other problems, and I had to take my son to dialysis at 5 am three days a week in freezing Temps! It's been 3 1/2 years and our beautiful new car has needed nothing but oil changes! Every time I look at it, I'm reminded of how blessed we were to receive it! It truly truly changed our life! This beautiful family spends every moment of every day worrying and caring for that sick little angel and their 2yr old. The worry alone is exhausting, and then to worry how you will get your family to hospitals, or buy the constant gas fills, and food while your sitting in the hospital with your baby? I'm still in tears (of joy) for this beautiful family! May you NOW be able to focus more fully on your little ones, and walk with a lighter step and a lighter heart with the emense peace these incredible gifts will bring you both! You are in my prayers today as is your little angel in the hospital! May God bless you and bring you peace and comfort! Merry Christmas!

My dad had a stroke back in April and had a brain bleed that was suppose to take him, but he's still with us❤ A brain bleed is hard on a full grown body let alone on a teeny tiny baby. Praying for this family. Thank you, Secret Santa for helping relieve some of their financial burdens.
