McFarlane collectable alien figures remind me of Tim Burton. They seem darker, grayer with more of an artistic license on the original design, while NECA seems more detail-accuracy driven. I think it really depends on what you value more. I personally like the NECA figures more but I can definitely see the charm of the deluxe McFarlane figures as well.

I just got NECA's Dog Alien in over the weekend. And i must say its one of my favorites. My art-room is basically a showcase for displayed and unopened Alien and Predator figures. This figure was MUCH bigger than i thought it would be, and looks simply amazing on display.
Neca's Dog/runner alien is prob the best xenomorph figure we have gotten so far. Hope we get the Resurrection Xeno too! Btw there is a neca chestburster and facehugger available but it came with the masked Wolf predator from the early days of Neca :) awesome review

The Only Ones That Haven't Been Broken Are The 18'' One (Big Chap, But The Dome Is Broken Off Completely, Just A Quick Glue Fix) And My Alien Covenant Xenomorph/Protomorph. Is It Just Me, Or Is NECA Slacking With Quality Of Plastic? Cause They Are Fragile af And I Cant Move Them Even The Slightest Bit Or Else Something Is Broken. P.S. My Alien Covenant Xenomorph's Tail Is Starting To Break. RIP P.S.S. Love Your Channel Man Keep It Up.

I have both these Dog Aliens and NECA's kicks McFarlane's ass totally. The detail and articulation in the NECA release is second to none. The NECA one now has pride of place on my display shelf, the McF one now resigned to a box in the spare room. I see you had an issue with the lower jaw being slightly off, every single Alien I own from '79s 'big chap', the Aliens warriors and now this dog/ox Alien, has the lower jaw slightly off centre. May be a manufacturing glitch or maybe I've just bought dodgy figures haha. Long may NECA's Aliens line go on. The longer it does, they'll get my money every time.
Lyonx I used to use Movie Maker. I don't remember if it was used for this edit specifically but I think I kept the transitions for figure wars that I made in Movie Maker

Great to finally get a NECA Dog Alien. Shame he needs the stand as I think stands like that look horrible but still an amazing figure. Where has this runner Alien shit come from everyone keeps on about? Never heard him called that till this month yet now all of a sudden everyone is crying that it's the runner Alien not Dog.

The McFarlane is not "biomechanical looking Giger-y". The Alien 3 dog alien was ADI rotten fleshy, not biomechanical Giger-y. Big difference among fans, who preferred the biomechanical.
This video comparison is unfair. If you have a suitable place for the McF Dog Alien, it is perfect. In my case, it has been crawling along a sloping wooden beam in the living room for almost 20 years. It looks so amazing that I never took it away from there. Visitors have to take a closer look because at first they think that there is actually some small creature sitting on it. I have a lot of figures, but none of them attract as much interest. Of course, the NECA Runner is more elaborate and detailed, but McFarlane hit the perfect pose back then that you just have to use properly.
You’re absolutely right. I just started collecting NECA figures and (finally) got my first queen from Mcfarlane yesterday. (Santa unfortunately never got me even the Kenner queen back in the day, so I made up for it as an adult lol) used to have all sorts of Kenner figures though. Point is, I’ve had the McFarlane dog alien since it’s release and have always cherished it. I’ve found it’s design gorgeous, and as others have said, it’s very organic just like the mcf queen is compared to NECA. when side by side I still see the beauty in the mcf dog, even if I want the NECA one too. The mcf dog is clearly meant to be in a specific pose imo. I’ve always put her either behind my monitor where the more flat hand can cling somewhat and peek over, or I put it high on a shelf so that hand curls around the edge. When like that it looks amazing, and I simply don’t mind the lack of articulation. If it looks good in a specific pose, that’s good enough for me.
McFarlane has a tendency to focus more towards (too much in my opinion) the sculpt and sacrifices articulation to achieve this, it's frustrating because i was always a big fan of McFarlane figures
Mcfarlane don't stand a chance generally speaking, neca's figures are Just Better shaped and way Better articulated. Mcfarlane's figures haven't aged well.
***** I know the concepts of Stan Winston from Aliens the alien from McFarlane don't look like alien from the movie :P so besides Alien from Alien3 is the original Giger concept and special effect made ADI Studio not Stan Winston crew :P

Their stuff is on par with some high end companies and it's also almost always the most accurate since they use the digital renders of the actual characters.

Yeah mcf has a more biological design with more natural bone shapes and membranes. While neca's have more tubing designs.

The McFarlane Runner is based on the rod puppet used in the movie whereas the NECA figure is based on the suit used in the movie.

Nightmare Fuel Studios I got a Mcfarlane dog alien for 9 dollars.
Being almost a decade apart, mcfarlane did a decent job. Took very long time for Neca to make this. Kinda like the new AVP preds coming out soon.
Mcfarlane tends to sacrifice articulation in favour of sculpt detail it seems.
