Mom polishes off the rest of the chipmunk, then settles over her shivering babies to warm them up again! She feeds her babies with such care, she should be the emblem of Mother’s Day.

Thank you Cornell Bird cams! This was amazing to see! So different than eagles. Wonder about each birds' disposition. Are eagles, being that they're aggressive, are they more predatory than say, these hawks. The gentleness of feeding and the interactions between the chicks, it's obvious they're different, wonder what other peculiarities occur between the two of these beautiful raptors.
    Thank you Cornell 🐣🐣🐣

I thought exactly the same thing about feeding time! It is so peaceful when compared to the Eagles. I’ve been watching this nest for a year and a half. I missed the first several weeks of last year’s group, so I’m not sure of the feeding with those three. But this is quite unbelievable, the few bonks were in the first week and then that was it.

Yes, it’s dominant behavior that many species of animals display. Pecking order is very real in many nests, sometimes can lead to death if there’s not enough to eat, but BR & Arthur do a great job here.
