The main problem with the transparent solar panels is that their efficiency is under 1%. Which is pretty bad, but because you can use them on an entire skyscraper might actually be viable.

The issue with plastic roads is micro-plastic - or almost invisible plastic particles then then end up everywhere and are the reason you can find microplastic in everything (including food and our bodies). Already paint used to mark road lanes is a source of it - making the whole road plastic would drastically increase the micro plastics problem apparently. So yeah, many of these things aren't really a solution but a step towards one. By exploring options, and any problems or solutions that may come out of these options we might find a real solution.
What about a road that's structurally plastic, but then has some other material over it so that the plastic won't degrade due to abrasion
to be fair though, asphalt can take up to 300 years to "decompose" and that will also produce small particles. at least with this its being used from another source, but as you say its stepping the right direction, they also found bacteria that can create power using humidity and is currently being invested into, as this means u can build vertically not horizontally saving more space from being torn down and it has a 24/7 up time as apposed to solar which is during day and wind turbines dependant on winds
Well, the mealworm will take care of that ...
@@chazamon960 Asphalt is crude oil, so this shouldn't come as a surprise.
What we have to do to save our world is eliminating the extraction of crude oil first and foremost.
Exactly PLUS the leaching of BPA and other toxic plastic compounds into the soil and water sounds like an ecologic toxic soup nightmare :'(
The effort that goes into these videos is just mind blowing! Hats off to you and your team 👏🏻

The thing with the shower is that it looks really cool in theory. But with marking the drops really small and fast, it cools incredibly fast. So you end up having it really close or really hot which would be either uncomfortable or just straight up defeat the purpose of saving hot water
This honestly made me so ecstatically happy. I can’t believe these few people are fixing our problems. For me, I would’ve put the mealworms first
Please do more of these sustainable tech videos Arun! Future generations will thank you
@R4ZELR26 lol everyone got one of those
the problem with a lot of this technology is that the companies who create it generally treat it as a premium product and therefore make the price more expensive. because of this, the average consumer will generally select the already-existing variant over the new, perhaps more ecologically-friendly variant, simply based on the cost.
Fffffffffffffffffoncole Berry!
Fr
There's a very simple reason. People don't buy new tech from the get go.
It's a classic example of supply and demand
actually plastic roads have a solution to 3 problems, in arizona where I live roads are a real problem in the summer time bc the black asphalt reflects to heat back to the cars and the cars reflect it around the city and then in downtown areas the heat is excruciating sometimes because of all the tall business buildings. The city has been working on changing all asphalt roads to pavement but that becomes especially dangerous during monsoon season because wet pavement is very slippery to tires. I feel like if plastic roads have a good grip on wet tires then maybe it'd be the perfect solution for mine and all other cities with hot climates
As someone who lives on tank stored, collected rainwater in a low-rainfall area, the idea of 'a relaxing 25 minute shower' is just inconceivable
It's good that the world will fix itself in the future using technology, it's good that we have faith in it.
Yes
no.we have to fix it,obviously,
we've clearly done more harm to the earth than fix it with our tech.
don't make A loose statemenet like "the earth will fix itself using tech"
NO,WE,WE ONLY HAVE TO FIX IT.
with the VERY tech we created
First we have to fix ourselves

Everyone who has suddenly gotten a positive outlook for the future after watching this video just remember that it's your responsibility to push your respective governments and administrations into adopting these technologies and coming up with policies that are in line with the environment.
Yah 50k tear drop camper homes such an awesome future for you guys lol
Man I'd give anything to have those plastic roads where we are. We're constantly getting massive potholes due to heavy rainstorms and the roads being tarmacked on top of cobblestone roads. It's so bad it got immortalised in a Beatles song and my mum broke her cars suspension going over one of the potholes... But like heck would the local council pay for it when they rarely pay to fill a pothole in... Also curious how it'd work with all the ice we get... But I can hope the government loses its mind and goes for it one day lol.
Lol as if they would listen.
All they want is power and money
Hear, hear. Everyone just listens but shrugs off responsibilities by blaming governments or corporations etc
@@lunasif yeah no, plastic roads are a horrible idea for cars to drive on. Tens of thousands of 2k ton+ cars going 60 km/h every day are going to spray microplastics everywhere

And people will only use them if they're cheap enough
Well, that's what "commercially viable" means 😃
@@PriyabratMishra Oh.
another one that hasn't been mentioned in this video was relatively recently they found a type of bacteria that produces electrical currents via humidity, the reason this is great is because weather will not be a reliant factor, it will run 24/7 and because its only humidity it requires you can build vertically instead of horizontally meaning they can be constructed in cities and will use less land to power things, the downside of it so far is that it produces insanely low power, however solar was inn the same spot when it was first discovered, you also have shopping bags being made from fish scales recently made from a university student meaning all the scales and fish waste can actually be useful. another company has made "pod" like biomes for fish farms to take them out at sea which reduces the acid in the waters for nearby local reefs which will allow the reefs to grow back slowly along with providing a whole new feeding location further out at sea for other smaller species of shrimps, plankton and small fish. that pavement you saw that generates power is currently in the process for road work also so the cars on roads will also power the problem they are currently facing is durability for sudden breaks AKA if a car crash or sudden break stop happens, it rips the panels up, once they find a way to solve this issue then the cars will also generate this power. there is aloooot more also out there but these are a few that interested me, theres alot going positive its just media prefer to cover the negative so you have to really look for it

Most are developing them for profit, not for the good of the planet sadly
@@jimroscovius dont care, still scientific achievements. in the scientific world, price is irrelevent. there are alot of people like you who arent willing to give companies a chance to show what they are capable of. i am willing to bet you would spend your hard earned money on an iphone, and not giving these companies a chance and maybe investing in their research. after all this is our future, and if we choose to ignore the fact that we are slowly killing ourselves, we will be sorry for it later. we need to start thinking about alternatives, regardless of price. its the idea that counts.

For the water situation, someone needs to build a shower and tub that have a built in water heating and filtration system so when you take a shower you run a bit of water and the system then takes over and recycles that water multiple times instead of just running fresh water down the drain... Yeah but tbh not that hypocritical
Wow. I had no Idea such amazing technology was out there. I’m really looking forward to the future!
Likewise, though idk when it will become mainstream. Only with collective work globally it could be implemented successfully or it will just sit there forever
The one won’t save the world, it just makes the process more complicated. The amount of energy spent is much higher than making clothes from scratch. The carbon footprint of that recycled clothing is massive relative to the new one. The best thing is to buy a new clothing and just burn the plastic bottles for energy. That’s how you really save the planet.
The soap bottles are also a bad idea considering they require way more space to store them before packaging the shampoo or whatever is put into it.
Meaning you need a bigger warehouse which translates to a bigger land use and less for plants to grow.
You need to think
