they could work, but they would have to be limited to classes (medic and scunt having explosives is a horrible idea), encourage strategic use (perhaps some additional special effect and only a weak explosion) and discourage spamming (instead of having 4 grenades, it's 1 with a recharge, just like a sandwich)
@@cmb9173 the new version of source 1 can slightly be possible but i don't like the grenade it makes the game like somebody is hacking (played tfc and the grenade was unexpected)
@@cmb9173 scouts never had explosive grenades, they had concussion grenades that knocked people away crazy distances without directly harming them. Of course they weren’t used for that but rather to conc jump around the map getting insanely fast captures. The medic had both the conc and frag grenades but he was more of a combat offense class back then anyways.
@@cmb9173 back when grenades were a thing, you didn’t spawn with fully stacked grenades only a couple. And you could only restock them with a backpack that had them which maps usually only had a couple of these backpacks, even then you had to wait for the bag to respawn not unlike waiting for an ammo drop to respawn.
This grenade should be for soldier only since the sticky bomb is for demoman only. But yeah there's no way spy,sniper,medic, heavy and pyro would have a grenade.

Lower amount of grenades per class, reduce the damage they do, theres tons of ways to do this, also add trophy system for engineer.
