She came into Demacia as an orphan, so her being exiled as a child doesn't make much sense. One random thing that just came to mind in that the "ink circle" behind Hwei, besides looking like the Ouroboros, it also reminds me of the japanese "Ensō" ink circle. Please google it if you are interested, since the explanation would be a little long to write here. That Ensō circle has some interesting meanings in japanese culture. And since Ionia is basically the "Asia" of Runeterra, they may have took some inspiration from Ensō as well. If it's the case, maybe we can understand a little more of Hwei's art, his inspiration and his view of the world from there too. Also, the Ensō ink circle is related to Zen buddhism. And since Hwei was also in a Temple, that's another small connection there...
To the debate of it being a sorts of "romantic" obsession or not - I don't interpret it that way, but honestly, I feel like the writers want people to interpret Hwei and Jhin as they please. I think Hwei's mind is too complex and disturbed to be discerning those things clearly anyway.
@@fireemblemaddict128 While I don't think that will happen.... it's not impossible, knowing some champions got voiceline overhauls in the past. Still though, would be incredibly cool.
4:05 You know. It is the attention to detail. And the fact that you made the connection between their magic origins add so much more depth to the world.
This whole romance thing seems like a huge reach to me. It does not make any sense for both of those characters to have any romantic feeling towards anyone.
I kind of wished the bio (or video) went a bit more in depth with basically Hwei after the temple explosion. In the sense of him going around and either traumatizing people with his art by showing them atrocities or helping people. It's an interesting duality that fits with his character and something I think, at least the former, that Jhin brought out in him. I'm really interested to see where Hwei's story goes from here and I hope it isn't the last we hear from both Jhin and Hwei.
Hwei is Jhin's art project. I think the disaster is Jhin's way of painting emotions onto Hwei so he can both unleash and give direction to his art. Or smth like that, we gotta wait and see.
Yeah that's my favourite part about Hwei's bio/reveal. Always wondered what Jhin's bombs were meant to be. Always assumed they were some hextech fireworks- now I imagine they're infused with ink magic.
Ionia is a land of Art. Hwei's painting Sona's music Irelia's dancing Yasuo's swordsmanship Jhin's killing Yi's Wuuju Everything in ionia comes down to art
Now that i think of it, Hwei does know how Jhin looks under the mask. Technically so does Shen and Zed but they couldn't recognize him in a croud since he doesn't have noticeable features. Hwei spent some time with him talking and comparing art so would he be able to identify him? He could have had the mask on the entire time tho, specially since he introduced himself as his stage name Khada Jhin.
Everytime Jhin gets Lore connections, its always peak- Gahdamn. Also- Necrit. Have you watched the new videos on the Legends of Runeterra videos? Another chance to make a vid out of a ~1minute video!~
After many years Hwei finally manages to track down and ask Jhin a very important question. "Why did you do it?", asks Hwei. Jhin pauses for a moment and then turns to Hwei and says, "lol, lmao even" before swiftly taking his leave.
Hwei is step 4. In game, the two get passives when facing each other at level 12 (4 and 3 being present). If Hwei is able to ult Jhin to death, he shows him their skill and able to make Jhin cry from either the beauty or pain. If Jhin is able to ult Hwei to death, he makes Hwei his fourth piece and reaches his own twisted artistic talent as he puts an end to Hwei's.
I am relieved. Honestly. I think an artist doesn't need demons to have power and imagination. I think the artistic developers see him as a "self insert".
Jhin has always been sort of a mage. He gets his weapons from the Kashuri armory and that patron from Legends of Runeterra but he always makes the bullets and infuse them with magic. The gun has to be some sort of hextech weapon that unleashes the raw magic contained in the bullets in different shapes based on the design so that the flesh and innard of his victims turn into trees, flowers and other shapes + I believe he also uses some sort of ilusion to enhance the effect and dissapear when interacted with based on Zed's comic, tho maybe its all in his imagination and the victims only see gore. Also he has to be a mage because he was able to do similar things with knives before he escaped the prison and got upgraded with the new arsenal.
One of the possibilities that you mentioned, that being a "person who dances around the battlefield" seems more akin to Irelia, given that her story seems to be themed around dancing with the blades
In league client, achievements section, Collection tab, you can see that Jhin is considered to be a Mage because he's listed in the Mage Specialist achievement, that always bothered me for some reason
Almost if not all in Ionia are mages they just work magic in different ways. If u see zed comic he can see the kids magic . They emerge at an early age. Every one in Ionia is a mageborn they can use it into a weapon like hextech type or they can use it directly like a traditional mage . Jhin uses his magic on his weapon to create art . His gun is his paint brush.
If you check the challenge for getting mastery 7 on mages, it lists the champions that fall under the classification. For quite some time now, I have wondered why Jhin was in there.
i need it in arcane season 3 please just imagine how gentle the colors would be the first half to the episode with jhin and hwei getting to know each other better then it cuts to black as hwei is asleep just to awake to the walls "so red with blood, flames, and... flowers." just imagine thousands of little explosions in a spider verse like art style
Note that Jhin also destroyed Hwei's artistic restraints. The classical paintings, the masters and the temple are all manifestations of traditional artistic wisdom - i.e. what binds Hwei and holds him back from becoming the fourth piece in Jhin's art piece.
I wouldn't say that Hwei wouldn't face self improvement by killing Jhin, just that that's merely one of a pallet of possibilities that could unfold when they find eachother again.
Fun Fact: Jhin is already classifed as a mage by RIOT. In ur League Client go to collection - Champions and sort by role, scroll down till u get to Mage and there he is.
I don't know about Necrit and the others but the truth is I like that he wasn't related to demons, like, I know that now Riot is working on this part of the demonic lore and I like it, but it would have been better if his magic looked this disturbed and twisted by the trauma that Jhin caused Hwai and therefore the aspect of how chaotic his abilities are, are his emotional states affecting his powers. And now with the demons they could grab forgotten characters in the lore and relate them to the azakana and even the first-born demons, like Syndra, Amumu, Shaco...and the list may not be very long but damn they would give them much more depth as characters , because let's be honest, Syndra and Amumu's powers are better compared to demons.
I was hoping he has nothing to do with demons tbh, thats nice having a character who struggles with emotions and not making it about a demon. We have so many "demon-enhanced" character already, if we have too much it would seem like having a demon is a regular thing happening in runeterra, almost making it look like its not dangerous.
Jhin has a quote "My work asks questions. It never has answers"

Also, the Ensō ink circle is related to Zen buddhism. And since Hwei was also in a Temple, that's another small connection there...
Well the thing behind hwei also has a purpose it's where he gets his seemingly endless ink from for his ink magic
Dope ass champion. The Vex OTP in me makes me especially dig his gloominess, green hair, and fear as well!

Jhin: *destroys Hwei's home*
Hwei: beautiful... oh wait-- boo hoo.
To the debate of it being a sorts of "romantic" obsession or not - I don't interpret it that way, but honestly, I feel like the writers want people to interpret Hwei and Jhin as they please. I think Hwei's mind is too complex and disturbed to be discerning those things clearly anyway.
What I NEED is new voicelines for Jhin to Hwei.
@@fireemblemaddict128 While I don't think that will happen.... it's not impossible, knowing some champions got voiceline overhauls in the past. Still though, would be incredibly cool.
I agree, I love a good tragic romance as much as the next guy but I feel its more interesting when the situation is too complex to have a label.
I don’t think Jhin had some romantic feelings towards Hwei
@@fireemblemaddict128 might take some time Jhin's VA is facing some issues thats why Asol's VA did the voice acting for Jhin in LoR

You know. It is the attention to detail. And the fact that you made the connection between their magic origins add so much more depth to the world.
A small thing to note is that the temple massacre was Jhin's first performance after being freed from Tuula
I defintely see it more as a student finally having his eyes be open by a master and less of a romantic thing but to each his own.
Jhin awoken something deep inside him.
This whole romance thing seems like a huge reach to me. It does not make any sense for both of those characters to have any romantic feeling towards anyone.
@@itsgonnabeokay9341Jhin no, for sure. But I can easily see Hwei falling for someone he though understood his art.
@@ninjatoriumnova2483 No. Hwei's whole theme is art and his obsession with it. Making it about human relationship wouldn't make sense.
@@itsgonnabeokay9341 Art is intrinsically a human thing.
Riot drops an arcane teaser: 20 MIN VIEDO LETS GO!!!
Riot drops new lore: yeah 13min... I guess.
One rioter said on reddit or twitter i dont remember that they never planned to connect hwei to any demons
And eventually, his genius was finally understood.
As a Jhin main, I like this. That splash art is so beautiful btw.
3:58 "the cool thing about this is sona is orphan" XD
They are the Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham of Runeterra
2:37 he kinda looks like Victor in Arcane 🧐
I mean, camilles eyes did turn blue in the awaken cinematic after seeing the traps. Refrencing her passive
Jhin has been listed as a mage in the list of champions on the client for bare time, thats crazy
Ionia is a land of Art.
Hwei's painting
Sona's music
Irelia's dancing
Yasuo's swordsmanship
Jhin's killing
Yi's Wuuju
Everything in ionia comes down to art
Now that i think of it, Hwei does know how Jhin looks under the mask. Technically so does Shen and Zed but they couldn't recognize him in a croud since he doesn't have noticeable features. Hwei spent some time with him talking and comparing art so would he be able to identify him? He could have had the mask on the entire time tho, specially since he introduced himself as his stage name Khada Jhin.
So if we no longer get written medium like color stories, does that mean we will get a cinematic for hwei?
Everytime Jhin gets Lore connections, its always peak- Gahdamn.
Also- Necrit. Have you watched the new videos on the Legends of Runeterra videos?
Another chance to make a vid out of a ~1minute video!~
happy to hear sona mentioned ♡ thank you necrit
11:28 he IS his rival though...
there is literally a whole in-game event where they have to kill each other
It makes me wonder if the Jhin teaser shows the 4 masters getting turned into "art". It's 4 different people in the teaser.
True it wasn't the 4 champs like in the teasers up to his release
Even if there are no other Demons in Hwei's story, there is always The Golden Demon. 😎
After many years Hwei finally manages to track down and ask Jhin a very important question. "Why did you do it?", asks Hwei. Jhin pauses for a moment and then turns to Hwei and says, "lol, lmao even" before swiftly taking his leave.
Omg, Necrit, you have such a great voice and charisma to read stories, i wish i could have audio book read by you
Necrit actually found the hwei
Hwei is step 4.
In game, the two get passives when facing each other at level 12 (4 and 3 being present). If Hwei is able to ult Jhin to death, he shows him their skill and able to make Jhin cry from either the beauty or pain. If Jhin is able to ult Hwei to death, he makes Hwei his fourth piece and reaches his own twisted artistic talent as he puts an end to Hwei's.
I am relieved. Honestly. I think an artist doesn't need demons to have power and imagination. I think the artistic developers see him as a "self insert".
I saw some cute fanart of Sett comissioning Hwei and paying him in Arena tickets
Horray! I was waiting for Necrit to talk more about Hwei, but I'm surprised I'm this early :D
I love how Necrit's eyes glow up when he said :"Its lore accurate"
I missed these kind of videos tbh. Long time fan here.
I feel like Jhin did this to make an artist he felt was worthy to out shine him and take his place or kill him
I have i serious insomnia that i can't handle without medication , but somehow, your voice helps me so much falling in sleep, thank you.
One of the possibilities that you mentioned, that being a "person who dances around the battlefield" seems more akin to Irelia, given that her story seems to be themed around dancing with the blades
I'm RELIEVED about no demons, let Jhin be insane on his own right!
I feel like jhin WANTED his step four to be hwei killing him...
If you check the challenge for getting mastery 7 on mages, it lists the champions that fall under the classification. For quite some time now, I have wondered why Jhin was in there.
in the league client jhin is actually classified as a mage and i never understood why untill this point
i need it in arcane season 3 please just imagine how gentle the colors would be the first half to the episode with jhin and hwei getting to know each other better then it cuts to black as hwei is asleep just to awake to the walls "so red with blood, flames, and... flowers." just imagine thousands of little explosions in a spider verse like art style
Note that Jhin also destroyed Hwei's artistic restraints. The classical paintings, the masters and the temple are all manifestations of traditional artistic wisdom - i.e. what binds Hwei and holds him back from becoming the fourth piece in Jhin's art piece.
Thats why we find Jhin at the Mage section in the client xd
Still surprised that people don't talk much about AP Jhin except for Jhin.exe videos
3:57 smash
Not good clothing design, however the silhouette in gane is amazing, and his lore is pure fire, that clothing design just really need some upgrades
It looks great in the splash art, but the in-game model isn’t great, true…
They both have 4 letter names.
I wouldn't say that Hwei wouldn't face self improvement by killing Jhin, just that that's merely one of a pallet of possibilities that could unfold when they find eachother again.
Them f*king passionately is also an interesting possibility o_o
I would think they're actual rivals since in the game if Hwei kills Jhin and vice versa they get a buff
Jhin is definitely a mage and his signature spell is gun
His gun is like his wand .
Just as jhin is just a crazy and insane man so is hwei a crazy and insane man.
Fun Fact: Jhin is already classifed as a mage by RIOT. In ur League Client go to collection - Champions and sort by role, scroll down till u get to Mage and there he is.
Probably because hes a catcher and there really arent any physical catchers (unless there is more and I forgor)
We waitin mordekaiser story cmon necrit boy
Jhin is actually classified as a mage in the collection tab of the client.
I thought he’d be paired with the demon of despair thought that would be pretty cool but the story we got is cool too
If he had demon connections I would’ve loved for him to interact with Nilah for example
the dude just wants Jhin autograph
12:35 Isn't it because his weapons are enchanted?
I just realised something. Hwei has a choker. My man will be on hearsteels second album together won’t he 💀.
I can't believe we got a good story, ...... it was years :°
whats good about it ? its a 1/10 story at max
@@creepcracker I don't know about you dude, but it was good, not the best, but still good 7/10
hweis name also forms number 4 on the keybord 😊
I was hoping he has nothing to do with demons tbh, thats nice having a character who struggles with emotions and not making it about a demon. We have so many "demon-enhanced" character already, if we have too much it would seem like having a demon is a regular thing happening in runeterra, almost making it look like its not dangerous.
12:31 noo waay 😱😂
Hm, interesting tale, i wonder where it will go and what it will mean for Jhin.
So what you're sayings is jhin knows the Hwei
demons are still there jihn the golden demon
