You can rig the front bilge into another ballast for 18km/h dive.

@@Ghost_Warrior1789 just release original wiring on the front ballast and then rewire Y possition on sonar monitor to set target level. That the basic, more complicated stuff need relay component plasma, cutter and a button.
@@Ghost_Warrior1789ust look where the cable going to the ballast pump goes, slap another one and connect it to the bilge pump instead. As the other guy said the complicated part would be being able to preserve its old functionality as well and hot-swap with logic.

The small size of the Barsuk is a clear advantage! Like a rusty otter, the nimble Barsuk can navigate all but the tightest of Europa's nasty monster filled caves, where larger vessels would simply have to endanger their crew on the outside.
With it's porous and brittle hull, the cottage cheese constructed Barsuk can be considered to be at 100% damage the moment you leave dock. This can free you to make seemingly brave and risky manouvers that other, more expensive ships, could not even consider. Few can know what to expect from the movements of a man willing to take helm of the wily Barsuk.
Furthermore having the outer hull made partially or entirely of styrofoam gives the Barsuk an advantage of buoyancy, that a fully metal ship of a similar size would not have!
It's not styrofoam, it's Duroplast. A mixture of low quality plastics and cardboard pioneered in the DDR and used to build monstrosities such as the Trabant.

The take that the Barsuk is just the submarine equivalent of modified shitty Honda to do street races is not one I was expecting to hear
Unironically my favorite starting sub. The maneuverability is top-notch, allowing you to outrun many threats, and sub’s shape and layout are incredibly creative relative to subs like the dugong.
There's only one problem... The crew. There's always some tomfoolery going on ahahahahah
The Barsuk is such a perfect concept. It's cheap, fragile, but nevertheless functional, and endearing to a number of captains, often praising its modular nature. It being the cheapest and effectively a starter sub for learning the game is also quite well done. The small layout and vulnerability quickly teach you gameplay fundamentals, and you no doubt feel a wave of relief once you improve to a proper vessel like the Dugong. At the same time, some people can grow attached to it, either for its aforementioned versatility or for the fact that it keeps them more cautious than better prepared options. The fact that this is all reflected in the flavor text is also a nice bit of lore reflected in gameplay.

In my First Reign as Captain aboard one I made quite a few below the radar Modifications to the old Girl.
I Was Learning Wiring Fundamentals at the time and Without the Rigid Structure of the Coalition's Maintenance Manuals I Was Free to Experiment with all kinds of things.
Towards the end of her run, before I was transferred to a boring Orca II, That Little Beauty had a Full 8 Planter Box Hydroponics Setup which Required constant care, with a Manual controlled overhead Lighting system in the ballast at the bottom for said Hydroponics, a Fully Automated and custom Modded Reactor Controller, and a slightly more standard Modified Airlock into Ballast Tank System.
Actually one Thing I always wanted to try was to Make an Entire Upper Floor of a BarSuk into a Giant Ballast. Heh, Maybe this old Captain will pick one up for cheap and see what I Can get out of the thing. If only it had a bunk, The sound of the Hull creaking is unlike any other sub, If I am to die in my sleep, I hope it's to the sound of a BarSuk's Gentle Trembling.
Just started a campaign with the Barsuk. I had 13 people on it before I left the third station.

When I started playing, I took the Barsuk and kept getting sunk at the smallest encounter.
Now that I'm experienced, it's actually surprising what you can do with a Barsuk; I don't get sunk that easily anymore.
Crew's experience is key to success.

"A discontinued model of scout class submarine"
Scout submarines have high mobility as their major traits which hels keeping mosnters a bit longer outside hull range to kill them before they cause damage or board.
Speaking of it's attack class pulse laser deals high burn damage and it's explosion outright passes through moloch shell. This submarine is meant for begineers because it encourages not taking a hit so submarine won't sink while it can be manipulated to have monsters in range of it's pulse laser. The players are supposted to figure this out before fighting rangered or more powerful enemies rendering this ship nearly defenseless.
For it's cheap price the players can actually afford giving captain a medal to purchase the first exp boosting perk and crew can have handy seaman's and sailor's guide for boosting repair skills to 55. Making repairs fast pretty early on. You can actually manage it with small crew. It's not a long run ship. It's meant to help you in early game by later having you purchase a better ship.
And to counter slow descending you can rewire airlock pump into ballast pump.
I didn't know you could even throw this much shade at a fictional vehicle!

While I build almost every submarine I use in the campaign, these technical readouts have helped me out immensely in understanding the strengths and weaknesses a submarine should have to give them a vanilla feel
It's very easy to make an unstoppable super submarine with the editor, and I wanted to avoid that. So while I may not be using the information in this series directly, I do very much appreciate the effort put into them

Just about to hit the Aphotic Plateau with my Barsuk, but sadly this will be our last ride together. Shes at her max hull upgrade and wont be able to handle the next biome (she's maxed at 4480m and The Great Sea can get to 5000m)
The mechanic's talent "Iron Storm" allows you to upgrade any sub as if it were a tier 3 sub, meaning you can bring her with you
Bruh, imagine selling or descontruct submarine part become real feature
The real issue with this sub is it has terrible way points for bots. They often get stuck makes it almost useless for solo

Men, when i look at those vanilla submarines (i by the way dont like a single vanilla submarine the second i went to workshop)
Past gameplay logic, its outrageous how much free space those vanilla subs have, a 4 Crate capacity? My dude, you can CLEARLY fit a unit loader device in that storageroom just by moving that large cabinet to the diving room or just about anywhere else, Who knows how many batteries and ammunition racks you can slap just by being smart with the layout, And thats even without cheating by scaling things way down
