मैं विनोद कांबली जी का दिल से सम्मान कर्ता हुँ लेकिन उनका ये कहना की 30 KM आना जाना उनके लिए थकावट का काम है मैं उनको बताना चाहता हुँ जिन सैनिकों की बदोलत हम और हमारे परिवार शांति के साथ इस देश में रहते है और जिनकी बदोलत ही व्यापार शांति पूर्वक चल रहा है उस सैनिक को पूछो की 30 हजार की पेंशन लेने के लिए कितने वर्ष सर्विस करनी पड़ेगी और अब तो सरकार वो भी खत्म कर देगी Agniveer scheme के tehat सबसे बड़ी बात यह कि इंसान को अपने खर्चों पर कंट्रोल करना चाहिए विनोद कांबली को कितनी ही दोलत दे दो वो संभाल ही नहीं पाएंगे जो इंसान कमाई हुई दोलत को नहीं संभाल सकता वो दूसरों द्वारा दी गई दोलत को कैसे संभाल सकता है

It is easy to reel out statistics, but surely consistency plays a vital role. Have not some other big names also been benched? Some returned with a bang, others slid into oblivion. It is easy to say someone had a godfather, Kambli did not. I remember there was great expectations from both these young players from the "older" cricketers of Bombay, who were then a big force in Indian cricket. Fans of Kambli must acknowledge he lost focus, partied and went around with the Bollywood types who are only around till you are famous and then drop you the moment you lose money and fame. Kambi\li did not have the mental discipline that a young Sachin had and despite earning a good amount he splurged it all. It is time his fans also acknowledge his shortcomings, instead of blaming some non-existent godfathers who favoured others. Of course selectors and cricketers will favour someone more disciplined over a reckless individual. That's not favoritism. If Kambli lost a job at a studio later because he did not turn up, doesn't that also show what sort of mental attitude he had? That had nothing to do with having or not having a godfather.

Very true as I was born in his area Kanjurmarg and same age . His talent was so high that coach Achrekar use to call him Vivan Richard and prefer him more than Sachin. Sachin has made his first century with Kamblis bat. His nature was quite good but after he entered international cricket everything changed. .

He had talent but was not disciplined and hardworking. After having a great start to his career in test matches in india, may be he thought he was a big gun once in a lifetime player, but when he played a few matches abroad , new Zealand for instance the issues with his technique and temperament got exposed. Instead of working hard on them he casually drifted along. In international cricket your weaknesses will be exposed if u don't work on them then it's only a matter of time before you are extinct.

He has both hitting ability and presence of mind while battling. I was born and brought up in Kanjurmarg mumbai where kambli was born but afterwards he stayed in Dadar or chembur. I have seen him and his brothers . Cricket was a god gift for all his brothers. His brother use to play local tournament with us. His father work in Crompton company. Coach Achrekar use to call him Villian Richard and favoured him more than sachin due to his batting talent. However he got his life wasted by oversmart ness, ego after entering international cricket , and alcohol. He or his family everytime use to talk friendly with anyone in public. Mainly his father was a friendly guy and with a smile. After retirement from company he use to roam on a scooty in our area and who ever called him the reply was with a smile. His father's nature is some where in him.

But it makes sense why Kambli went crazy like that because he talked about match fixing and nobody took it seriously for a while.
