Another thing to consider when buying a new monitor:
The resolution of the display with also impact how your game looks, but for minecraft 1080p is fine
1080p also looks worse on higher resolution monitors. Best to have a lower resolution monitor so you can push higher frame rates on other games without sacrificing much in sharpness

@@not_ebn well......either they do that for getting rid of something called input lag or simply because they don't know the concept of refresh rates
@@randomman9622 i recommend searching this up for a better explanation, but when your fps exceeds your monitor's hz, the frames you are seeing are more accurate and up to date
Basically the diminishing return thing is this: with a 60hz monitor each frame is a 60th of a second. Or 0.016 seconds approx and a 144hz is 0.00694 and a 240 is 0.00416 and a 390 is 0.002564 if you look at the difference in frame time for each it constantly gets lower and lower becuase each one is simply shorter so it becomes harder to notice and is a smaller difference

As someone who has played 60 fps most of my time, and only recently upgraded to 144, playing my friends 390 felt surreal.

60hz is fine with me the only real problem is you can sometimes see ur cursor more if u go really fast. I think 144hz is way more than you need

@@sith6375 You can still use a 60hz, the only thing that is really noticeable without switching is the repeated cursor. I never said I used 144hz, I have only seen 144hz from my dad who has a 144hz monitor. Also, good luck if you ever play an unoptimized game.

@@sith6375 yeah. My friend has a 144hz monitor that I’ve used and it’s so much better than my 60hz one. It felt more responsive and I had more time to react to things ,which meant more consistent block clutches in skywars and better rodding in duels
When you include your house in videos it makes it a hundred times better
heres a suggestion for the flow shop for the deskmats, you should make them in smaller sizes for those who have smaller desks but its just a suggestion :)

This monitor is far from the "best" monitor. The Image quality is probably so dogshit that doing anything else than gaming puts you at a disadvantage. There's a reason why other monitors with similar refresh rates cost a lot more
@@discopatw actually, it is. Other monitors cost more because of gsync. This monitor is a few hundred dollars cheaper because it has freesync premium. The color accuracy is actually very good, and it also has its own implementation of ULMB to combat motion blur.

I love watching these types of videos, mainly because I get to dream about having equiptment that isn't a 4 year old latop and 60hz monitor.
But my laptop runs 1.8 Minecraft at 150-300 fps
I got the same, at Lunar I am playing 180 fps and 75Hz. But I have to say, it is enough

1000$ dollars is not much, here in Brazil everything is 5 times more expensive and more difficult to get money, here the minimum wage is 1100 R$, 1100R$ is 300$ there, a monitor like this one is around 6000R$

@@joneswarrington7242 shit color, flickers, bulky, ugly, consume a lot of energy, bad brightness, poor image quality, etc. just get a 240hz
its not 390 its 360
@@demetri58 most 240hz are 500 or more for a non ghosting decent sized monitor, which most people can’t afford. Going from 240hz to 390 would be hardly noticeable for the human eyes seeing the human eyes sees around 40 fps (could be wrong) but something around that. Also don’t forget that if you want quality images you are probably better off getting a 144hz 1440p or 4K, and i doubt you will find a 240 hz monitor under 600$ with 1440p that’s 26in+. You can’t say you are better off getting a 240 hz because most of the time it depends on the circumstances and what you plan to use it for. I assume reason this 390 hz is cheap is because its lighting and colours aren’t very good, it’s 1080p and it’s only 24.5in. Also it probably doesn’t have Gsynch
FYI: I’m not sure if you knew this but I wanted to say it in case some people looking for a new monitor see this and go just buy a random cheap 240hz monitor sorry if you already knew this
And also you probably aren’t gonna be able to run 390 FPS on any game aside from minecraft and roblox without having a $3000 computer with some small exceptions obviously

Tbh has a 240hz user myself, I think my next monitor upgrade will be to a 240hz 1440p monitor. I think most 240hz users would benefit more and see a lot larger difference going to 1440p, over 360/390hz.
if you're playing bedwars or a competitive shooter like counter strike chances are you're not playing at 1440p, not even 1080p on counter strike. personally on cs i used 4:3 1280 x 960 which obviously isn't even close to 1440p. 1440p@240hz is better for more recent demanding titles with great graphics. but to play the most demanding games today at high/ultra 1440p@240hz you would need at least a 3070, preferably even a 3080 or above to justify spending 700-800 dollars on a monitor like that. but in today's market, those gpus are very difficult to get

Even pros dont upgrade to that or when they do they quickly comeback.
So everything that is at 240 Hz is enough no matter who you are.
@@koteeji1295 that doesn't make sense, higher refresh rates is an advantage no matter how you look at it, for many people dropping graphics quality to the lowest is worth it for the extra fps especially on competitive games, because you gain an advantage over the enemy

I know this video has been up for months but I have another thing to say about the “diminishing returns” for a high refresh rate monitor, which is the fact that the higher the refresh rate means that you can’t have a higher resolution. The 390hz monitor supports up to 1080p resolution and 1440p for 240hz. I have a 4K 144hz monitor which is nice for both refresh rate and resolution however I cannot get any refresh rate higher than that because it’s 4K. So thought I’d just mention that as well. You may want a balance of both like me.

1:41 you can compare the "smoothness" of the screen next to the 390 hz monitor and you can really tell that its silky smooth
Both monitors are higher than 60hz... UA-cam is locked at 60 fps so there is no visible difference
