- (7-1-18) Here is the other service elevator in the Park Tower building. This one is on the same controller as smaller service elevator, but it is so much slower because this one is used as the freight elevator. You can see there is a large opening in the ceiling to fit larger items inside the elevator.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a PRIVATE residential building, so please do not be going into it to film the elevators without permission.

I delivered pizzas many years ago and we had to use service elevators. That thing would've been irritating during the days when Domino's guaranteed 30 minute delivery or it was free!!
Think on the bright side: At least you wouldn't have gone hungry if you had gotten stuck!

@@SPS8elevatorsoflakecounty Ha ha... As much as I like pizza, I can honestly say that I never said "Oh yeah... PIZZA!!" during my delivery days. When your car, clothes, hair, etc. smell like pizza 24/7, it looses its appeal. :-)

Why make the freight slower than the service elevator? I’d be more logical to just use the service elevator.
They're geared lower for the excessive weight they are designed to haul.

My only guess is it’s geared for more power but the capacity is the same.

@@Jamestube8439 That answer is actually not accurate, considering it's a freight elevator which stops on every single floor of the building, going faster can be a bit dangerous, especially when traveling with very heavy stuff and such faster speeds can make the said freight elevators difficult to withstand tougher working conditions.
