Yes to answer your question - people (me included) have dreams that look just like real life. That’s why it happens so much in movies, where the main character doesn’t realise it’s a dream!
I found you from your video with Molly Burke. Yours is an amazing story, and I enjoy hearing you talk about it. I wanted to add an* toyour answer about whether you read and if you read braille: it is more than just the 10% of people with zero light perception who use and read braille. People who are considered totally blind, but have light perception all the way up to people who are partially sighted and also re-print maybe braille readers as well.
I can just barely imagine what impact it must have to be able to see, after you have been blind and used to living like that. I remember a moment from when I was young. I had learned how to read. And I walked in the street of my aunt and uncle. I looked at the street name sign and I was able to reed it. I was shocked and amazed, because I had always known that street. I had walked through it every day and I knew the street name as well. But still I had never been able to get the information on the sign myself. And at that moment I felt like a whole new world had opened up for me, on top of the world that I already knew. But I was young and flexible and I adjusted of course. And it was only about reading as well. For you it must be so much bigger. I completely understand that you get overwhelmed. I would be too. I am very impressed with how you are coping.
That was a great video…your colors explanation, especially! What are some things you’ve seen when you’ve been out shopping, whether clothes or grocery, that have delighted you? ☺️
There's so much to ask! But first, maybe the most interesting things must be the things we won't even imagine how to ask!!! I can't even imagine what it must be like!! But here is a list of questions: What is the long story that you were saying in a short video? Why did your friends change? Is there something you find beautiful that most people think it's ugly? Is there something you find ugly that most people think it's beautiful? How was the experience of seeing food? Did your taste for food change? Was there anything you looked at and just knew what it was after touching? Did your favorite color change? How was it to see rain/snow for the first time? What season of the year was it when you started seeing? How was it to see photos of yourself as a kid? Did you have a partner when you started seeing, if so, were you still attracted? How was it to observe all parts of your own body? Is there a subject that you started to be fascinated with after you started seeing?
+OliviaDurant 😕⚠💠 *No Braille? Primary school must've been confused about your wonder-years seeing issues - then again, improper reaction to your "no see 'um."* OMS Japanese Christian is due for a Braille re-signage, and I'm currently researching standard names for the compartments for this task, e.g. "Conference Room," "Office," "Copy Room," "Break Room," "Classroom n," &c., so I can craft two copies of the required signs; the scaledowns of ISO pictograms will be the most difficult part of this necessary project.
Not really, but once it happened. We had to tell her to calm down. She let us know she had a neurological issue where she could not perceive change very well. I do not know what type of disorder it was, but she started screaming for no reason and everyone was like "Stop scaring us - nothing is happening."
What was your cause of blindness and the surgery? Why did it take so long to address it? Is regaining sight similar to those who regain hearing? Do you still have hyper-sensitive other senses
I don't know if you're cool with this, but you've alluded to having had a very difficult start to life. Would you talk about your childhood, your family, and how you pulled yourself out of poverty? You're not only interesting because of your eyesight.
Hi - You’re right. My disability is only part of the story. In fact, it will make a lot more sense when I talk about the other stuff. I will be making a lot of content answering this in the next few months. It may take a bit since I work a lot at my job and life etc. but definitely stay tuned on this
@@OliviaDurantyes, please do when you can. I've recently discovered you, you're amazing ❤ I would love to hear more about your background, childhood, and difficult experiences you may have had to overcome!!
Starting the 22nd I will be on a dungeons and dragons live stream so that might be the answer to one of these! Thank you so much for all the suggestions!!!

Thank you! My data probably comes from being poor and having it dismissed
And th yes, there are also many in similar situation to yours where they do not have access to braille provided.
The view of the fireworks from the airplane must have been an incredible sight!

Guuuuurrrrrllllll…. You need, like, a discord server for movie recommendations 🎉
"Saying hello to myself" Well THAT hits different.

Thank you for sharing your perspective on this, very informative. There was no other way to learn anything like this!

I’ve been wondering if passengers in a car you’re driving get scared to be in there just because you were blind?

Excellent questions! I’ve just taken this down to add in the next AMA!

It’s not kind to make that reaction to someone who has ‘bad hygiene’!!! Sorry, but you lost me at that point!
How many homeless people do you hug and kiss?
You must get lost a lot.
