  • In this footage we see Koko ages 1 to 29 years old as she learns and uses the sign “Brush/Comb”. From the earliest stages of development as a baby, to mastering the sign independently, Koko's journey with the sign for 'Brush' exemplifies the power of motivation in learning. Grooming proved to be a compelling incentive for Koko's linguistic development.

I don't think there has ever been a gorilla and human who loved each other more than Penny & Koko. What a beautiful relationship they had for decades.

So do I especially because sweet Koko lived in small cage and room last years of her life. At least from what I saw......she had No real life once she got too big. I thonk Koko was Extremely lonely and died that way with No pet of her own, never had a Spouse, just Always caged. 💔 This is what breaks my heart fur Koko😢

@@denisemezynski8014No spouse? Is that the magic ingredient for a happy life?🤨 And you said “no pet,” which makes it seem like you don’t know anything about Koko’s life prior to seeing this UA-cam video…

@@denisemezynski8014 “Spouse” or not, Koko had a family. She expressed her happiness not only through her behavior, but through human language.
Based on your comment I can tell that animal welfare and the freedom of wildlife is important to you. I absolutely respect that!
But unless you knew Koko personally, I don’t understand why you feel you can better speak to her feelings and quality of life than her family, and even Koko herself.
It’s your right to judge others internally however you want. But please remember that all the humans and non-human animals who KNEW Koko: who raised/worked with/cared for/loved her throughout her life, are mourning her loss every day.
The decent thing to do is keep cruel and unnecessary comments about them to your own channel😔
