In China lots of Chinese are selling their German cars or even their Japanese cars for the Chinese EVs. For me I still love my German car and honestly I am not a fan of EVs. I am from China.

Xiaomi is obviously very new to making cars and still figuring out how to run a car Factory at large scale. They only have one single factory which the are currently using and building the 2nd phase. In the us, the govvy will suck you dry until you are forced to charge 50k for your 30k car to profit. That being said, i believe it likely that Xiaomi is losing money on every Su7 they build, just so they can build up their reputation.
The big Chinese car companies have all hired European(and the odd American) designers for different models, as they want to appeal to a world-wide audience, so yes they will copy features that appeal to foreigners. The Chinese have a saying that goes something like "copy from the best and then create your original". I am guessing that a Porshe Taycan drives better than this, but I also bet it doesn't have all the features that this car has.
