Great video my friend! I enjoy Cuaba as a nice change up from the norm. Love the presentation & construction of the cigars, a truly artisan experience! I have a box of Divinos rolled at the La Corona factory that I smoke from every so often, & I always enjoy them
You know Cuaba launched the brand in London back in the late 90s. This was due to the fact that the English loved the figurado vitolas so much in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is really amazing the impact that the British have had on the cigar industry over the last few hundred years; certainly not something to be understated.
yes i know mate ..infact the EMS (hunters and frankau) distributors for the uk ..get the best choices still to this day of the best quality cigars out of cuba due to the long standing connection ...thats why EMS are the most sort after boxes amongst collectors and aficionados
@@poolmar1967 Hmm, that is interesting and to be expected I suppose. I notice a difference in quality of boxes I get; the best is from Japanese LCDH, 2nd from Switzerland, and the least from Hong Kong. Enjoy the La Casa Bar! I will be heading to my Tokyo Bar next week, while on business.
Thanks! I like all of the Cuaba vitolas. Nice music! I like starting with the H. Upman half corona in the mornings myself, but will try a Cuaba. What is the music?
Excellent review! Loving it. It is interesting clipping the head off after the 1st third, I will have to give that a try. By the way, what do you think about the long term aging potential of Cuaba cigars..I got a box of Salomones and Distinguidos from 2013 aging away. Wonder if they can make it to the 20 y mark.
yeah they have the potential for sure. .. i find the darker the leaf the longer the ageing because i do find them more them tanic because of the oil content and that means they can be converted into a sweeter cigar over time ...claro wrappers i find are more smoke ready because they dont hold as much oil and are less bitter ...but these exclusivos have probably 5 years in them to become more rounded ..but to be honest they taste ok to me now thats why i am smoking them..but as i say ..just try one and see where they are at.
Hallo, Paul. If you get round to seeing this, nice one. Paul, here mate, when you Dry Box your cigars in preperation to have a smoke, do you have a minimum and maximum amount of time Dry Boxing..? I suppose depending on the Cigar and how long it's been in the Box under humidification. I'm new to cigars, the last several months, I live England, see, so I've taken your advice to just concentrate on my RH, I'm building up a collection of Trinidad Reyes, and Rafael Gonzales Panatelas, these two smokes do it all for me so I'll invest on these. I'm keeping in air-tight boxes with 65RH Boveda packs at the mo. But since I'm new to it I don't have well stashed Cigars like you do. But I assume you smoke some cigars quicker/younger than others...? Anyhow, if you get round to casting a reply, cheers, mate.
if you keep them at 65..for me they are good to go, i only dry box if they are fresh cigars i have bought online because when they send cigars out they over humidify just in case they get held up so in that case i dry box for about 10 hours to remove some moisture
Ah, rightio. Cigars are curious, eh! People's differing experiences. I got the tip of Dry Boxing from watching your vids a few weeks ago. Well, I had some problems with a few Cigars with the draw, and going out too often, and I figured it was the moisture from Humidifying, I've always since I started kept them with 65RH Bovedas ( I will invest in those Heartfelt beads you have )... So the last 4 Cigars I experimented with dry-boxing in preperation for a smoke ( cos this is what I thought it was all about ), well I dry boxed each for6 Hours 10 Hours, 18 Hours and 24 Hours repsectively, and the two I left for 18 and 24 Hours smoked bloody lovely. The 10 Hour fairly good, the 6 Hour average. I may experiment with lower RH, at the 60 range. Well, mate, one thing for sure, there is more to enjoying and looking after your Cigars than one may assume. Any how, Cheers for all the advice I've got form your videos. All the best, mucker.
Those PLPCs are a good smoke. You can smoke them young because I've smoke some from 2007 and it was a waste of cigar. Much tastier under 10years of age.

Yes, I just cut off the tar damp piece of tobacco when it's built up. That's one reason why I don't punch cut cigars anymore.
Nice video.

Bitches Brew?
