That giant oncidium is just di-vine! The Paphiopedilum is a stunner as well... I need to try my hand at some of those indoors.

Stunning white L.anceps. Very lucky white (alba) is quite rare. Genes are recessive.

Just what we need in the middle of winter, a whole lot of beautiful flowering orchids. I could do with a haul like that, but I’ll have to make do with a Phal. that was on sale at Bunnings with only 3 blooms but a very unusual dusty pink with slightly darker stripes. You’ve made me envious Mathew!

Thanks for watching - and nothing wrong with a bit of Bunnings Phal rescue either!

There are two types of catt maxima. High land and low land. The high land one might be ok with your conditions.

So many lovely flowers. I like the golden tan/ecru cymbidium a lot. Honestly it kills me to hear you talk about cymbidiums as easily available big box plants -they're not commonly available here in the northern US, and I'm struggling with getting the ones I've laid my hands on to bloom! On the other hand, I have oncidium alliance everywhere and they rebloom like champs. Grass is always greener...

Agree with you! I like cymbidium too. But I have to buy on Line. The shipping fee for the large plant is more than the plant itself.

Really! It's odd how different things appear in abundance in different regions! I guess because the climate in southern Australia is so suitable for Cymbidiums there's a ton of growers?

AFAIK, there is no yellow form of anceps, the closest you're going to get is Laelia aurea, which is a much smaller plant but produces quite long spikes for the size of the plant with yellow blooms.

hello, they gave me 2 cymbidiums. Unfortunately, "black insects" showed up on one. Sticky leaves, and then the leaves fall off. I bought a suitable spray. I don't know the result yet, I ask: do I need to change the vase? Thanks for the valuable suggestions. Tosi Donatella from Italy

If you have no leaves at all keep them on the drier side and wait! Once they send up new shoots gently start fertilising again. Good luck!
