Dude cmon, youre using an old loophole that should OBVIOUSLY be fixed, i always thought if you cast double cards for both the spells then you should def have to pay for BOTH spells. Dropping 6 drops for 2? Then you use it to throw out eldrazi lol what did you expect, def not impressed by the creativity of this.
I saw on Reddit that they may be changing how split card casting costs are calculated. Basically, if you aren't casting them their casting cost is the total of both halves which would really hamper this deck... Haven't seen an official word from wizards yet though so who knows.
Hmm...that's good to know. That change makes sense, and if this combo takes off in modern, I imagine that wizards would be pretty quick to take it out. Better enjoy the combo while it still works!

Under the the rules, even then, the CMC is equal to both halves added together since it was fused. The fusing makes it an alternate cost which means either 1: it can't be accomplished because alternate costs must be paid (e.g.. You can't pay the kicker cost of you vial in joraga warcaller). Or 2: again it's an alternate cost who's CMC is more than the expertise cards state too be played for free. Someone overlooked that as I did check the rules pdf updated from theend of the RTR block. Sorry to spoil it, but it was clarified back then and someonejust let it slip past and happen anyhow.
@@6966odin no. Wizards released an article covering this old interaction when the first split cards came out. It was counter-intuitive, but people still used it with a land destruction deck with goblin dark dwellers. The expertise cards and brain in the jar broke the ruling, thus the change.
i have a large binder half full of breaking and entering, some foil some foreign a large amount of the promo. the second i heard of this list i put together the proxied list and started pulling together the pieces. before I could get it all together and play it into fnm the rule change came through, I almost cried.
You wouldn't be able to go Brain in a jar -> Restore Balance, no. BiaJ is Exactly cmc of counters. So unless you want to Solemnity first, it's not happening.

The rules now state that the converted mana cost of split and fusion cards is the sum of the costs in both sides of the card, so you couldn’t cast them for free with expertise cards.

they made CMC of fused cards equal to the total cmc of both sides so beck (BU) and Call (4WU) would be cmc 8 (2+6) and not 2 or 6

What you saw was only the fuse card's converted mana cost _while it's on the stack_. The combo worked under the rules back then.

what do you think about blightsteel colossus instead of the chancellor
since the rule change this deck doesnt exist anymore. And the reason chancellor was in over blighsteel was the ability to T1 kill
