Respects to Airmarshal. Sir your narration of initial operational difficulties makes me understand the difficulties of the job. The normal people would not understand these things.
Read few books post Kargil War, but I must say the best facts with detail understanding of the War was very interesting from the Air Marshall. I am proud that I had a chance to serve the IAF under his command.
Fascinating episode and agree with the Marshal and you Aadi on the reasons for not crossing the border. The result is plain to see, we wanted to prevent any support for Pakistan from the US and the diplomatic goal was to take it away. It succeeded at a time when we were under sanctions and our relations with Clinton were not that great. That makes it an even bigger achievement and I can't help thinking Jaswant Singh was behind it all. The real message and it has future implications for how we deal with China is in a conflict it's very important not to be perceived as the aggressor as that is the criteria on which world support is going to turn on. People are always saying we need to take a crack at China and not just react but fail to realise any action that reverses this perception means we enter into conflict at a disadvantage.
22:30 So you have like 2000km of mountain borders but in 50 years you have not figured out that when a war happens you will have to fight in the mountains?
52:58 _Rumour had it that the Paks were readying their nukes_ At the time that was certainly the rumour but in his book Musharaf admitted at the time of Kargil that they did not have a single deplyable nuke.
The health minister also alleged that the initial report of Imran’s urine sample showed the presence of toxic chemicals, “the likes of alcohol and cocaine”. But he said the government would not reach any conclusion until the proportions and concentrations of the sample’s constituents did not arrive. After that, the health minister said, possible action such as the registration of a first information report could be taken against Imran. From. DAWN
We didn’t have any aircraft in that class at that time. Like Hawk aircraft with its weapons could be more suitable but then they arrived only a decade later.
In a very perverse way India needs to be thankful to Pakistan for its various aggression which contributed to Indian forces learning techniques of war which otherwise may nor have occurred.
With due respect and honour thank you very very much sir for sharing your experience .🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🌹 Jai Hind Jai Bharat Mata

Agreed. These trials by fire began in '62 and have never stopped.
You have a point Sir, see we can always thank the virus or epidemics for advances in medicine and medical sciences, I suppose - fair enough !
