- A new study found taking multivitamins every day does not help you live longer. Researchers studied the medical records of nearly 400,000 healthy Americans over 20 years. CBS News medical contributor Dr. Celine Gounder explains the groundbreaking study.

I don’t take it to live longer. I’m taking it to be healthy while living
Get your vitamins from food for gods sake 😂
@@MsSarcasticity i do
THANK YOU! I guess I don't fault CBS for reporting this, but there are so many things wrong with the implied conclusions. Vitamin pills are not junk science, and specific individuals are not equatable to aggregate studies.
Less stress in your life makes you live longer.
I was a little confused, but the topic was focused on longevity -- not types of health benefits (which of course relates to longevity). Eat your veggies and fruits is what I got out of this.
proof a doctor degree is meaningless
Almost means they have the right to lie 🤷🏽♂️
I don’t think any doctor has ever told me to take a multivitamin
But taking your vitamins AND saying your prayers will, brother.
People take vitamins because they think it will make them live longer? I thought they took vitamins because they thought it would help them in the present, whether it was getting a vitamin type that maybe they weren't eating enough of naturally, or perhaps something else like trying to cure a hangover/illness.
The point is to enjoy your life longer with little to no chronic illnesses. Most people in the U.S have one or more vitamin deficiencies.
The soil food is grown in is only replenished with nitrogen potassium and phosphorus none of the micronutrients are replenished. That's why supplements are needed.
well that was confusing
Justice saves from death.
Mmmmm….interesting study. I think taking a Multivitamin definetly helps my hair, skin and nails. My diet is pretty balanced but it’s not perfect so I will keep taking a multivitamin daily. 🤓☀️
They may not help you live longer, but I know for a fact taking vitamins make me feel better. (Not a multivitamin)
😒😒😒🙄🙄🙄
Joke
Exercising and eating fruits & vegetables will help you live longer. Sorry but the blueprint is the only way.
I take vitamins to stay healthier in the present. Not to extend my life.
What a joke 😂 always do the opposite
Facts!
She just couldn't say they're beneficial. Danced all around it!
But couldn't say it.🖖🤣👌
Whole Foods all the way!
What is the solution
You know a year later, they are gonna tell us the opposite.
Truth😂
Restoring melatonin (nearly zero by age 70) Restoring Glutathione (Nearly zero by age 70) correcting Mg deficiencies (70% or the pop. Is deficient and it is used in 300 plus biochemical reactions) restoring CoQ10 which dwindles with age, D3/K2 which many are deficient in and so on. I hope you will agree.
Agree completely. You’ve done your homework.

*IT ALL DEPENDS ON QUALITY*
Firstly, this study was more of a survey than an actual study. Secondly, most common brands of multivitamins are made with the lowest quality components, often the cheap synthetic versions of nutrients. For example, most contain Folic Acid (Vitamin B9) instead of actual Folate - Even though about half the population has an issue, to one degree or another, with converting folic acid to folate. Look for smaller brands, with better quality standards, instead of the mass-marketed mega brands. Chlorella is a nutrient-rich algae that can be taken in a tablet or capsule that can also serve as an alternative to those cheap, junk-filled multi-vitamins.
Lol says drug pushing doctors..🤥🤑💔🇺🇸
Of course there is a benefit to taking pharmaceutical grade supplements. What an irresponsible report.
She was kind of on the defensive because people love popping a pill instead of eating responsibly.
It sure gives me a great energy boost. I went all my youth without taking vitamins and in my late 30s now taking multivitamins and omega 3 fatty acid, it has helped me alot and I noticed results in my mood, focus and energy instantly.
i already font take it cuz i dont think i know where it comes from n if its absorbable
Older people need to have their vitamin levels checked in their bloodwork. This is rarely done, but the information can be invaluable.
