Cruiser has been the most underrated divison for couple of years now. Always gives amazing fights, but as some people point out, the lack of US boxers makes it being less covered.
Cruiserweights are around the size of heavyweights of the 70s. Rehydrated in the ring they ranged from 205-215 lbs on average. A lot of heavyweights there’s days are ~240 lbs and at least 6’4

Don't think the big bucks are necessarily there definitely not immediately like who would he fight there? Europe Africa and the UK are definitely where you'd want to go initially imo the division is stacked in those parts of the world rather than the us

Briedis did not cope with the southpaw of Jai who did tire in the back half of the fight, Briedis did take over but too little too late. One more round and the fight would have been stopped by the ref or Briedis but that's boxing. Was a great fight though and the highlights do no give it justice. To anyone who thinks this was a robbery, watch the full fight and say that Jai lost.

Only seen these highlights but it looks to me as if operita got the early round points ,some were even almost & then his opponent came home strongly but needed a knock down to catch up.Looked to be a good fight.
Jai could have easily stick and move for the rest of the fight and win easy but he got too comfortable and choose to trade in close quarters and cost him his jaw. Jai will be at the top for a long time.

The score cards was a shit, it was more closer then in the score cards. And it could go either way anywhere else it would be a 50/50 fight. But it was very nice boxing from both of them. Nothing to take away from any of them.
It was 7-5 rounds x 2 which is the closest margin without a draw, without knock downs being a factor and 8-4 x1 not exactly a landslide so 2 judges picked it like you lol

Usyk fought a prime Mairis Briedis who was active, when he could slip the punches, get on the inside, fight from the outside and who had amazing timing. This is not the same guy here today.

And what is important is that in the second part of the fight it was Briedis who began to dominate, being 10 years older than his opponent. A little more, and Briedis would have sent Opetaia to the knockdown. We are waiting for a rematch!
Boxing is a hard sport to love with all the corruption and sleazy promoters. That being said, watching two highly trained guys go at it on the world elite level is usually a fun time.

Another major factor is that there has always been a big weight gap between cruiserweights and heavyweights, at least 10 pounds.
