- After the Oilers evened up the series at a game apiece, what adjustments could we see from Canucks in Game 3? How can Vancouver get Quinn Hughes going offensively? TSN Canucks reporter Farhan Lalji joins SportsCentre to discuss.

Rest Ian Cole. He looks exhausted.
he's been our biggest liability
Rest Cole, yes. Scratch him. I’m not sure it’s exhaustion though. He’s been otherworldly terrible. It can’t just be bad luck either, two games in a row now his head is just not in it at all.
@@mensrea1251 He's just had a bad couple games. If you watched the nashville series he was probably one of the canucks best if not best defenceman
@@Zannyzander You sound like you believe he will suddenly turn things around. Anything is possible but I doubt it. He’s not right. Take him out for the series. He can reset in the next round (if there is one for the Canucks).
More like a useless human on the ice
If Edmonton is stacking their top line, stack our top line too. Lotto line has always looked dominant with puck possession. Put Blueger back with Dak and Gars. Reunite the Lifeline. And have Lindholm centering Hoglander and Suter. Put Mikheyev on the 4th line
I think you're on to something with the Lotto line but I would leave Lindholm with Dak and Garland they have been too good together.
I think Edmonton only stacked their top line because Draisaitl was hurt so they put him with on McDavid’s wing to reduce his workload. I’m not sure that’ll last going into game 3.
@@jaythompson5102lotto line is bad dude it had 3 good games once
god you guys are so corny, lotto line and lifeline (yes i get the lotto 649) BUT LIFELINE…… come on bro
Yes good idea break up the lines lol
You should not be a coach and a marriage consultant
They need to do the same to mcdavid that there doing you hughes
They can’t touch him he’s too fast and skilled get physical with him mistakes will happen
@@OmoiSas The Oilers top line proved last series they'll happily throw a big hit
McDavid has no issues throwing a big check. He really seems to put some anger into his hits.
McDavid is stronger on his skates than everyone else on the ice, and he's faster than everyone. He also plays forward. There's no opportunities to bully him. It's easy to push around Hughes because he's a defensemen built like a small teenager.
Yeah but then you’d be running the risk of Hughes blatantly spearing someone in the face
This level of analysis is pathetic.
I don't know how TSN manages to always find such pathetic clowns. I think they care more about DEI than hockey knowledge.
Canucks struggled with the intensity of Nashville’s forecheck pressure (this is just going to get more intense)
This is affecting their passing and getting it into the o-zone
Petterson needs to play with Podkolzin or Lotto Line
Always have Quinn and Lindholm on the ice for Mcdavid
Refs need glasses and if someone is bleeding from a high stick you don’t tell the victim to get off the ice you make a call double minor
After the nut shot Hoglander got that wasn’t called for attempt to injure, the Canucks should just say to hell with it and if that official comes back, give him the same treatment. The NHL is a joke and this is a league wide problem. Not just a Canucks problem. In the last 25 years, I’ve seen games involving all teams regularly that are terribly officiated. When other leagues are taking significant steps to make their product more transparent and clear for potential new fans, the NHL is doing the opposite. They almost want to make games more vague so there’s no accountability. New fans coming in, say in Utah, won’t have a clue what’s going on. What’s a penalty? What’s a goal? Who knows? The Hockey Guy provides the best hockey coverage on the planet and sometimes he can’t even make sense of it. The major networks just stir up controversy for clicks and ratings. Nobody with power wants to fix anything. How do you sell the game to Americans, something the NHL has been trying to do for 30 years, when you can’t make basic things about the game clear to them? They’ll watch the NFL or NBA, where they understand the rules a lot more.
slash McDavid across the face and not get a penalty. Maybe that adjustment. Or big Z smashes Kane into next tuesday.
The way it's been officiated, I expect to see some brutal fights.
If I were the assistant coach, that's what I would suggest also. 👍😃. When it comes to hockey, I'm not that nice.
Throw the puck out of your defensive third and not get penalised. Oh that already happened.
Please give the oilers 50% pp more chances by being goons 😂
Scratch Cole and the Canucks will be fine. Cole has been the single most dominant weapon for the Oilers this series.
here here bro
On point.
The only adjustment needed to be is Hughes on McDavid again he really well against him. Why changed it somebody else lol. Maybe it took away from Hughes offense but idk
Only change that should be is show colè where Edmonton goal is lol😂😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😅
It's b.s you can blame cry about refs all you want even Tockett said you can't blame refs when Kings lost in final game there captain was asked about bad refs like both said blaming refs is a cop out they have toughest job trying to do everything right for everyone but the speed of the players it's not there fault there's always calls that are missed or bad ones caught that don't even look like penalties last game two high sticks missed one on Vancouver one on Edmonton and Vancouver to many men on ice it's shit that happens in every game and series if we're not use to it by now God it's been this way for years so no sense complaining about it cause it will keep on happening every sport people say refs ruined game it's just only way people know how to complain after a loss to there fav team
Bench Cole and put Podz in for PDG and put Mikheyev 4th line. Podz can't do worse so may as well try something.
I really dont think the canucks need to adjust much. They won a game in regulation, and lost in OT in a game where the reffing was lopsided.
Coaching adjustments need to happen . We need to go back to how we started the season.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to GRANDMA SOPHIA!!!!!!
Go oilers GO
Edmonton has 3 good lines 2nd line kane Hopkins line when on fire are just as good that's the thing with oilers almost every one is a danger there all experienced playoffs players and when Paul Coffee has defense going there very good in the LA series they were 100% on penalty kill it's still anyone's series if oilers come out strong again just like they did to kings there hard to play against and Tockett and Coffee know each other good
Look at the Florida bodyon series. Missed attack on whats his name, and guy gets a penalty for being pushed into goalie
Time to hit the Oiler's top line hard! Miller laid a good hit on McDavid but not enough, slow them down!
pay the referees more than Edmonton did last game
Let the VANCOUVER CANUCKS wear their 2024 LUNAR JERSEY going to the BUBBLE Place also known as The 2019-20 GREAT WALL of HOCKEY.
"needs to have a bigger impact" ya maybe when he can get some space from being hit into the boards and hit in the face every game with no calls.
Hughes and Petterson are to small for playoff hockey,
Are you for real?
Hughes is fast so hes okay but I agree with you about Petterson. He cant get faster but can and should get bigger. This is a mans game
@@brentwilliamson9594 yes👍🏻
Just shoot when you have the opportunity. Stop passing it to the point where you get almost no shots in for one period. Also, get rid of Ian Cole
Hopefully Kelly Sutherland won't be at the game
If Cole is on the ice, I’ve lost faith in tocchet
Bring Juulsen in and tell him to hit McBaby
Stop just flipping the puck out of zone…. Get some passes and attack
Ian cole 4 hot dog salesman
Chil Farhan. You are always so down on Canucks. Speak positive please
Van just doesn’t have the experience yet for playoffs. They will run out of gas . Oilers just toying Havnt even hit another gear yet
Oilers suck though, havent gone past the conference finals and usually lose in 2nd rounds
If the oilers make it past the winner of the Stars-Avs series without some serious Sutherland-esque Ref help I’ll be surprised.
zero adjustments
Turn McDavid into a McChicken.
Is dirty sland refereeing any more canucks game? Sickening
Maybe the refs will do something right
stay ou t box oilers only can win games cause of this oh ya and cole lol
I aint watching this rigged shit
Ya but the best part is the rigged portion isn’t even working. The refs have been so obviously favouring the Canucks, even with the missed mcdavid high stick.
@@jasontoshach6949Kelly Sutherland record with Canucks games shreds your logic
Oil in 5
Here’s an adjustment for starters: the refs do their job and not miss a double-minor high sticking and a major spearing to the groin
And goalies and defenders tackling players behind the net. Don’t act like Vancouver hasn’t got away with plenty as well, throwing the puck down the ice in game 1 FFS.
Yeah time to stop bitching. It clearly went both ways.
@@cca73127 not acting like they didn’t get away with non-calls, but the ones Edmonton got away with were significantly more egregious.
Bottom line is refs aren’t doing their jobs so who knows who deserved to win.
@@JayS-777 Two guys tackling a player isn’t egregious? It’s a lot easier to see than players moving at speed. No comment on the puck throwing?
@@cca73127 not even close.
If Skinner stops anything the nucks have no chance whatsoever. It’s cute that they think they’re competitive. Should’ve lost to the preds, far and away the worst team in the playoffs.
lol you think you will win the Stanley cup?😅
Without McNugget and Leon the Oilers r pure garbage it's laughable
Imagine if Demko was in net and you weren't gay.
Oilers have one amazing forward line and one top(ish) D-pair. 6 fourth liners and 4 bottom pair D-men. Nurse/Ceci is a joke, but they’re your 3/4. Talk shit about the Canucks all you want, but you’ll be swept by Dallas or Colorado.
goaltending killed us both games both games would not have been close with demko in net
what are you talking about. Game 1 you could make an argument that goaltending almost lost us game 1 but that’s cause Silovs was shaky. Game 2 he was carrying us and making some incredible saves. Didn’t let in a single terrible goal. And the 4th goal was completely Ian Cole’s fault he had no reason to have his stick angled like that. Ian Cole is killing us he’s responsible for 4/8 of Edmontons goals this series he’s been absolutely terrible
No, Ian Cole killed us.
@@itsaxel8088 Soucy had a pretty bad game to. There was no need for him to step up on Conor which allowed him that breakaway.
We actually paid cole before the series. He’s a sleeper agent.
@@davechattoe9144 Soucy made 1 mistake causing the McDavid breakaway. Cole caused 4 goals in the span of 2 games.
