Then 2003 never happened ...... haha the Iraqi's pushed the letter and it got burned... never needed to invade.. Loved the line from this movie "Mr President... Mr President we have the oil" To which the President Replies "And I have the match"...
100 megatons? Neither we nor the Soviets ever deployed a bomb that large. The most powerful nuclear bombs we did deploy were the 25 megaton gravity bombs on the B-52.
Well Russia had the Tsar bomb, which was around 57 megatons. You seem to be forgetting this is a fictitious film, it's not supposed to be an accurate representation of the American nuclear arsenal.
Yep. More to the point, you do *far* more damage by peppering an area with mid-to-high kiloton range nuclear weapons than by dropping a single super-large multi-megaton bomb. The only exception, I guess, would be if you are specially targeting a hardened, underground facility...you might want a megaton class weapon in lay-down mode, etc.
coolguyjoe99 . Ivy Mike was 10.5 mt. Castle Bravo was 15. The Americans biggest weapon was a double fusion weapon rated 25 mt which was deployed but never tested. All modern US nukes are theoretically tested by computer models.
John Golden The Russians made one. The Tsar Bomb was 100 mt with its 4th stage uranium casing. However, the casing was removed so the yield was 57 mt. Otherwise it would've killed the crew.
Kerlem The British weren't far off. They built a boosted fission bomb called the interim weapon which detonated at 750 KT. It was a stopgap till they developed a true Hbomb
This was a great movie before 2003, when it lost my ability to suspend disbelief. But I’m happier that the movie makes no sense and there’s no more Saddam. The world is safer.
Kennedy said we have nothing to fear but fear itself you would think in a movie like this they be able to check those kind of idiotic mistakes Roosevelt never said anything to that effect however JFK did thanks
The worst kind of dumb is YOUR kind of dumb...Arrogant and idiotic at the same time. FDR said it during his 1932 Inaugural Address...dimwit. Here is the audio of Roosevelt's "Nothing to fear but fear itself " speech. historymatters.gmu.edu/d/5057
Nothing to fear but fear itself may refer to: A phrase from the 1933 inaugural address of Franklin D. Roosevelt, FDR’s twelve years in the oval office: “Let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself-nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.”
Man, I thought everyone knew FDR said that. JFK said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." And what you can do is study harder and cease voting.
Up towards the very top of my best movies list....
What are your other top films?😊
Then 2003 never happened ...... haha the Iraqi's pushed the letter and it got burned... never needed to invade..
Loved the line from this movie
"Mr President... Mr President we have the oil"
To which the President Replies
"And I have the match"...
Kinda hoped Pollak would do a Christopher Walken imperso......

Little Late- but US never deployed 25 Meg warheads. Largest Nuke created by the US was Ivy Mike at 15 Megs

Lol their news station is called IBS 😂
Of all the archival footage of nukes being tested they had to choose one of the Bikini tests? Must be a low-budget production...
hahaha and a Hydrogen bomb to boot... not an atomic weapon..
Only a hydrogen bomb could reach 1 megaton, never mind 100 megatons. An atomic bomb just doesn't have enough power.

the entire movie is filmed in a diner with a handful of actors. of course it's low budget.

Still an interesting morality play and well acted by Pollack.
Would have been safer to leave him there.
A million people, thousands of American kids would be alive and no ISIS
Over water. 🤣😂
Is there any other movie that includes anti ballistic shields taking out ICBMs?
Mwahaha105 Damnation alley intercepted 40% of a huge Russian attack with ABM weapons
Anybody notice that he was running against trump in the primaries?
Trump in the movie is a Democrat senator too.
Was it a stand off weapon or gravity bomb? Can’t remembet
Where do i watch the full movie online?
Amazon has to rent.

FDR said it in his Inauguration speech in 1933 ua-cam.com/video/nHFTtz3uucY/v-deo.html
This movie also said “I believe Kim when he says a reduction of troops on the 38th parallel will precipitate an invasion of NORTH Korea”
🤦♂️
