- In this video you'll learn how to make an EDC gimmick to perform color changes, card thru glass, mentalism predictions, and my FAVORITE MYSTERY CARD PLOT. A card is placed under a coffe, ANY card isname, they turn the card under the coffee over. it's ALWAYS their card!
To make this gimmick you'll need:
Scissors
Coffee Cup
Coffee Sleeves

How's it go thru glass?
Good question! I put magnets on the card underneath the gimmicked card so it holds it place. When you activate the gimmick, it will shoot up, and the card under the glass will drop. Hope this helps
So, I just went to starbucks, and using a little bit of sleight of hand, nabbed me a little pile of Starbucks sleeves.
I did tell them afterwards¹, and they were tripped out that I had gotten the stack.
¹the entire store (it's a Starbucks in a Safeway) knows I do magic already.

How thick are the magnets in the link ?
Those are 1mm (0.04in), feel free to get some thinner ones if you want to use them for card gimmicks and just double them up. You’ll want some semi strong magnets for this one so the the gimmick attracts around the roundness of the cup. If they’re weak, they will not be strong enough to bend and hold the gimmick, this will make it so only 4 of the magnets attract.
@@magicianjavier 0.04mm thickness would work good for card gimmicks as well 🤔
Yeah 100% those are my preferred thickness for card gimmicks as they’re very thin. For this gimmick I used some thicker ones (1mm) to make sure they attract throughout the gimmick

imagine setting up the cup prediction and the under the glass card at the same time... guess that's why you didn't teach that one
I do it in two steps. First, the card under the cup. Then, load the magnetic card from cop as I tap under the glass. It helps if you purposefully misalign the card under cup and the card under the glass diagonally a couple of millimeters with the magnets. This way, the card under the glass will be better hidden from the opposite corner of the misaligned magnets. This is because the thickness of the glass separates the both cards. Having them let’s say, diagonally injogged towards you, will hide the card under the glass better. Hope this helps my friend

Thank you and Lloyd as that is how I found your channel. Good trick and one I can set up and use in multiple coffee shops. Tip is go buy the coffees, you can switch a rooney on your way back to the table. Drink a few minutes and then introduce the trick. It really has a massive variation especially if a note changes.

Nice concept but still too dirty. Even if you get the card to stay on the magnets neatly it is still way bigger than the sleeve. Also, you can see the elastic thread

All that preparation for a one second trick, difficult sleight of hand, come on man, not worth it.
I love making gimmicks and putting stuff together, it lets me get into that FLOW state. To me, that alone, is worth putting it together…even if I never perform it. Usually mystery card plot routines last a little bit over a second and from experience, they have a profound magical impact on the spectators. The card that was in view the entire time IS the ONE and ONLY card they FREELY named. Since I get some of THE BEST reactions and comments from this very plot, especially when I pair it with DEX, I will have to respectfully disagree with you, with much Peace ✌️and Love❤️, to me it’s totally worth it. Good question my friend, if you puta shimmed card or a card with a magnet underneath the table. The magnets from the coffee gimmick will hold that card and hide it underneath. Once you lift the cup, the gimmick will close and the card under the table will no longer be held by the magnet, and so it will fall creating the illusion that it went straight thru glass. Hope this helps! 😁
